As we get closer to sailing and folks are getting their FEs organized. Would it be possible to send out a message to the Google group when an updated list is uploaded? I pulled the list last week and made all my labels (all 282 of them!).

I never would have known about the change if this hadn't come up as I was just going to hand write the GTY cabin numbers onto the labels when they became available. I'd hate for all your hard work in organizing to be wasted and someone not get a gift because someone (me ) didn't know that a previous assignment had changed.

I've not sent messages through the group so I have no idea how much of a pain that may or may not be. If it is a pain, just let me know and I'll pull the list the morning I leave and double check all the labels.

I believe a couple of you are going to dlp before hand. Are any of you take a train from France to Barcelona? Can you give the site and the approximate cost we could be looking at. Tia.

We traveled by overnight train from Paris to Barcelona for the Med cruise last year. We did splurge and get 2 grand class cars which included dinner and breakfast and our own bathrooms and showers and arrived well rested. I got them for half the price they were offered on the rail europe site. They give you step by step directions on the seat61 site. Good luck!

I thought the train was very expensive! It was going to be over 200 euro for a shared room no bath.We are taking Ryanair out of Luton airport outside London. It was like 40 euro but the luggage restrictions are harsh. You may want to check easyjet out of Paris. We took that last year and it was quite cheap and nice. Luggage restrictions are not as bad as RyanAir. We are taking VirginAtlantic (my favorite airline) from Orlando to Manchester. It was half the price to take a round trip instead of one way so i booked the return flight for July of next year. You never know....

I'm going ahead and doing my FE's, leaving blanks for GTYs. Worse case scenario I will knock on the door of someone else in my group and see if they have the correct info about everyone else!!

I better check all my candy swap info again too. Do you just put pieces of candy loose in the FEs or do you bag and tag them with who they are from? I have about 50 candy swappers, so if that is the case I better get started!!!

Tonight I was going through the pocket of every shirt, suit jacket and jacket in my husband's closet looking for his passport, which he has apparently lost. The only suit jacket my husband has in one he bought when we first started dating, and brought with him on our first cruise together in December 1999. And apparently that was the last time he wore it because I found receipts from our Celebrity cruise in his pocket!! Brings back great memories!

I think after that point we'll need to rely on the whiteboard on Claire's stateroom door for updates. Supposedly the hotel where we're staying has wi-fi, so I'll do my best to update til the last possible minute.

Earlier today it didn't look like it had not been updated for a while, but now I just went there and the page looked different and it said the doc had been updated yesterday. I'll also need to double check on the candy swap.

I for one will post very loudly when I get my GTY room assignment and I assume everyone else who has been waiting will also, so I will be looking out for that. Of course, if we don't get our room number until we board we will be using the whiteboard on Claire's door.

Since we've never been to Barca (or Europe, for that matter) could someone clue us in on appropriate daytime attire? We are attending a cooking class and roaming through museums. No Cathedrals or anywhere formal. I've googled this question and the answers are somewhat outdated and/or conflicting.

Trying to get an idea of how "dressy" -- at any rate we won't be in tanks, tubes, or daisy-dukes, lol!! My body has shifted too much for that

That is odd. I have mine open in a tab on Mozilla all the time, so I always refresh it when I check for messages or anything else. But it always looks pretty much the same.

I have no doubt that I'll hear the screams of joy when the rooms are assigned. I can't believe DCL is waiting so long! I still would like to get PM's though. When I get home from work and see 5 or 6 pages of posts, I tend to skim through them. But if I see a number other than zero next to the Private Messages link, I go straight to that.

I just sent a reminder via the Google group, and it looks like it went through. Wish I knew why that other one didn't. Anyway, I'll just send a quick message each time I update the list. It'll probably say, "check Group XX for updates" and that's about it. I keep finding new things that I have to get done before I leave - like alter the straps on a dress, and getting the dogs' shots updated (did that one today) - so I don't know how chatty I'll be. But I can definitely send messages. Thanks for that suggestion!

You should find the full cross-section. Locals will be dressed to the nines, heels, etc. Tourists will be in everything from shorts to t-shirts. Typically resort casual is a fool proof approach.

Sorry I missed this one! I'm planning to put mine in small bags and tag them (yet another thing to do), but mine are small individually wrapped pieces and I'm giving several to each cabin.

BTW, how did you get 282 labels? There are only 60-odd (62? 63? even I can't recall) total cabins on the FE lists, or about 150 people (including kids), and 20 cabins and 50 people on the candy swap list.

We were talking about this a while ago and figured they would know we are tourists - especially American tourists as soon as we (1) look around while walking, (2) talk loudly - in American English, (3) wear our American shoes, (4) just show up, because we look American. Yeah, we're tourists; you can dress like it.

ROOM NUMBER CHANGES

This is another great reason to come to the 3:00 Promenade Meet - to get stateroom numbers for those who change at the port (or finally get an assignment).

Last year, I had all the DIS names printed on cardstock (in large letters, so people could see), in alphabetical order. If someone had a change, we could change the list and others could see easily the new info. Somebody then kept the list along with the white board.
