Brilliant michelle, well done and thanks for your determination :thumbsup2

Those dates just fit in nicely :thumbsup2

I had a Shellac Manicure on the Dream in January and I loved it. :thumbsup2 I haven't found anywhere local to me that does it so I am having a Gel mani & pedi on Monday so they are done for Barcelona & the beginning of the cruise, but I may a get a Shellac on my nails part way through the cruise.

Thanks Claire. I've just been a little hesitant to try it but I guess I should shut up and just do it!

I do TONS of Shellac - it's my most popular offering as a nail tech. I'm about to go cold turkey for 3 weeks (our cruise, plus one week in Canada) without access to my lamp and supplies! I'll be wearing a French Polish Shellac with embellishments, but as it will probably need replacing by the time I get to Canada, I'll have to hit the polish til I get home.

It's such lovely stuff - when it's applied properly it does everything it says. Gentle to the nail, looks great for 2 weeks, easy to remove. :goodvibes

Find a tech with a good reputation, who uses a nice thin application (lots of nail techs make it too thick, which means it can crack and chip off), and uses the proper CND lamp. If the lamp doesn't have CND or "Creative Nail" written on it, find another tech. It's a curing issue - using the right lamp means it will last as long as it should.

Reminder (although this should be in the Navigator), I will have lots of nail supplies with me should anyone need a touch-up or a quick mani by the poolside. I'll bring OPI polishes, repair stuff (silk and resin), nail decals and odds and ends. So if you're having a nail disaster and can't get into the spa, ring me on cabin 6071 :)

(I guess the idea of not doing nails for a few weeks is putting me in withdrawals...) :cutie:

Excellent, that's good for us:yay:

Thanks so much for organising it Michelle.

It's all coming together now, I'm actually beginning to start making lists of things to do and buy.:)

Wow, what an offer! :cloud9: This was my first ever finger nail application of any kind in a professional way. I wish I would have known to look for the lamp sign, I don't know what it was! I am wondering what I will do if it gets to looking poorly, she said it would only come off with acetone or by peeling it off. Hopefully it will be okay!

Out of sheer curiosity I called Disney in regards to the movies playing while we are on the ship and Lion King 3D will not be playing. Every other Disney/Touchtone picture released this past year will though...

Now we get to watch Tropical Storm Lee!
We leave from Atlanta on Tuesday evening...hopefully we'll get out on time.

It's always dicey planning to fly anywhere in the South in August/September. The last time we flew out in a storm it was Hurricane Ivan in 2004 - we sat on the runway waiting for one feeder band to pass, the plane was shaking with the wind, and once that feeder band passed we took off. There was a small window of time, about 15 minutes, before the next feeder band rolled through...I was terrified! :scared1: After bouncing around for about 10 minutes, the rest of the flight to Paris was perfectly smooth. Ahhh... :cloud9:

Hope everyone along to Gulf Coast is safe, and stays high and dry! (My son and most family members are in Louisiana.)

Hoping everyone has safe travels, and that these storms don't slow anyone down. :thumbsup2

Lots left to do before we leave. Soooo excited!!!:dance3::dance3:

Both of those times work out great for us. Thanks so much for coordinating this.:cool1:

Thank you to everyone for their patience as I try to deal with a backup plan on the lanyards, get the Dis Navigator done, sort out the Madeira tour van assignments etc.

Coupled with that we had a death in the family, the porch on our Lake House has to be replaced (discovered when part caved in) before the snows in late fall, Samantha getting into law school in San Diego and various other sundry items!!

Noel ... so sorry to hear about your sad news :hug: and also about your porch :sad2: You certainly do have endless miles of patience and determination to keep up with all of this in the face of frustrations ( the lanyards ) and a very busy life. You are a star :worship::worship:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I actually packed a few tops yesterday!!!! I do NOT want to be known as "The Naked Champagne Girl" (kinda like the naked cowboy in NYC) :lmao:

Why I was thinking of the Naked Chef ..... way too preoccupied with food :rotfl2:

Need a smile to ease the packing woes?

Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl, was asked to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so the paramedic could see while he helped deliver the baby. Little Connor was born. The paramedic lifted him by his feet and spanked him on his bottom and he began to cry. The paramedic then asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had just witnessed. She quickly responded, 'He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place, spank him again!'

This is very funny ... I certainly hear some strange comments in relation to childbirth in my job ... including one guy whose partner was in the second stage of labour on a night shift, when he looked at me with a look of total fear on his face and asked me where exactly the baby was going to come out from. :scared1::scared1: it took all of my concentration to keep a straight face on that occasion.

Just wanted to wish you all a safe and fantastic trip. I was on last year's WBTA and it was a trip of a lifetime. My advice is even if you are tired every night, stay up a little longer ! The 14 days goes so fast! Hope you have calm seas and lots of sunshine!

Why thank you ... that is very kind. Wish all of our 2010 WBTA buddies could have made this cruise too

Does your hubby know he has a tropical storm in his name Claire :rotfl2:

Wow! You guys have been busy. I have only been gone a day and half and it's taken me 2 hours to catch up.

I haven't started packing, I'm almost finished my FEs and I go for a hair cut on Wednesday. :scared1: I feel like I'm not going to get everything done before we leave, but hopefully now we'll be home more and get the rest done.

I spent half the day yesterday taking in Princess costumes for DD (9). She is so skinny that everything needs to be altered, but she was so excited when I finished. She's more organized than I am. She already knows exactly what outfits she wants (and they aren't all princess costumes either :rotfl:). Then she tried on her favourite costume and stood in from of the mirror practicing her princess posses. I just about died laughing! :rotfl::rotfl:

We are all so excited, we can hardly wait! It will be so amazing to finally meet everyone and spend some quality r & r time.

Hope everyone has a great evening or day!

Middleofamerica - I'll bring some remover wraps and acetone to help you get it off. Yes, you can peel it off... you can probably get away with it once.... but it will damage your nail plate and make them break more easily. If you use the wraps (you don't need the expensive CND ones either - good old tin foil and cotton pads works great too) your nails aren't damaged in any way and it's all done in less than 10 minutes. I'll teach you how to do it :woohoo:

Lots of nail techs wanted to offer Shellac but didn't want to buy a new UV lamp - so they would use their old ones. I had 4 lamps, but wanted to do it right so I bought the one required (Shellac requires a certain light frequency). I have tried it with my other lamps, just to be thorough, and I had product breakdown after a few days. So I only use my CND lamp (they have 2 styles - the Brisa lamp has 3 bulbs, and the Shellac lamp has 4 bulbs, and either one will cure Shellac).

I just wish I could bring my lamp with me! But it's too breakable and I can't risk anything happening to it (not to mention how I would probably end up working my whole holiday). But I'd be more than happy to do polish applications. I'm good and fast!

Disneynut - come see me and I'll see what I can do for you! I'd love to do a Shellac on you, but barring that I'll try to work some magic with what I've got :wizard:

OH man, I am so bummed!! I was even prepping my kids for seeing that - it is one of the movies they really haven't seen!

Out of sheer curiosity I called Disney in regards to the movies playing while we are on the ship and Lion King 3D will not be playing. Every other Disney/Touchtone picture released this past year will though...
