We'll my children have been spoken for - I took the first 3 responders so we've got Goofprincess, Hazel and Liesbeth!

If there's anyone else with spare kids for the "Rent a Princess" Tea, I know there's other grownups who'd like to go, so speak up if you can! You'll make someone's day :)

My dress fitting got delayed to Saturday, so fingers crossed she can work magic (or make me grow taller). :wizard:

I'm loving the 'rent a princess tea'. I think it is a new on for our Dis groups here and will catch on I am sure. I hope we get some photos posted afterwards.

One of the things I absolutely love about flying to America is how clean & well maintained all of your airports are (well the one's we've been to). :) Lee & I always say to each other in a sarcastic tone it's good to be back when we land at the dump they call Gatwick airport.

Claire, what airports have you flown to? Apparently this is all subjective based on what you're used to - I feel like a bunch of our US airports are dumpy and can use a major makeover - and my home airport of STL would be at the top of that list.

The F4 tornado hitting that airport on Good Friday is the best thing that could have happened to it - now they are FORCED to remodel it! :lmao:

I have never flown to Gatwick, only Heathrow, which I thought was a beautiful airport. Except that whole departures lounge/mall thing. Too many people in too little space. I had never seen it where you don't get to go to your gate and wait, you end up waiting in a retail "holding pen" instead!

Boo Hoo, I was 12 hours to late. I guess that is what I get for leaving work. If anyone else has a prince or princess to rent?

I've got one going spare sue, pat has one but you can have the other : )))

Thank you Dawn. I looking forward to it. And it seems to be a DIS thing too.

Went and played bingo last night with former coworker. Getting ready for B11 B B11:cool1::cool1:

Suitcase is open and magnets are in. Using old ones and shed a little tear not packing FE due to space limitations. Oh well next cruise.

Thirteen (13) days until we leave. First flying down to Disneyland for two days. Our pass expires on the 5th so gotta get more use, right? I will get to go on the new Ariel ride---my favorite princess. I only wish she were on the ship but alas she is on the Wonder.

This is getting so so real!!!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

Thanks Claire :)

Your welcome. :)

MCO (a lot) ;)
JFK
Miami
LAX
Vegas

So not too many but they have all seemed cleaner/nicer to me than the UK....maybe it's just because i'm in holiday mode?

Heathrow is better than Gatwick in my opinion (although I should add i've not flown from all 5 terminals at Heathrow but the one's I have are ok). Gatwick is currently under renovation which was long overdue so maybe that will improve things.

The "retail holding pen" is pretty common in UK airports as they don't display the gate until just before boarding so you have to wait in the main area and watch the screens until your gate number appears.

Aww, thanks so much. I will have a whiteboard on my cabin door #7512. Please let me know what day/time/where when we get on board. Woo Hoo, I get to go to Princess Tea :cool1::cool1::worship::worship:

As long it not 10:30 AM or 1:00PM on Sept 15th (Palo Bruch, Pub Crawl)

We went on the Ariel ride last week. It was really cool. If you do the Extra Magic hour it is the only ride open at that time. We walked right on, no wait at all.

I'll agree with you on Vegas...that's a great airport. But can't imagine where the money came from  you know, they say that town wasn't built on winners!

How wonderful! How was the ride?

That mojito class looks pretty fun! I don't know when they'll be scheduled, but that looks like something to watch out for.

KevieKev05's trip report for the EBTA 2011 says that on Day 6 (Sea Day 4) that they had missed all the opportunities for Character Breakfasts:

"...As we were enjoying this meal, our servers said they missed us at our character breakfast. Ummm. What?! We told them according to our dining tickets that our character breakfast was scheduled for Monday (four days from now). They said it must’ve been a mistake as today’s breakfast was the last one! WHAT?! Since we dined at Palo the night before, they weren’t able to “remind” us at dinner. So, what happened?! Why were we missed informed yet again? I went upstairs and grabbed a dining ticket to show them what was printed on them. They felt so bad and once again mentioned that today was the last one...."

Yes we never got notice of the character breakfast on the EBTA last year. I remembered that they did them and kept waiting for the date, but we never heard anything about it. Maybe this year we will get to go!

Yep. Apparently, he has a problem with me taking 3 weeks off for the cruise. Funny thing is, when he hired me back in April, I told him, point blank, that I'd be away for 3 weeks in September, which he said would not be a problem and I should just be sure to mark it on the scheduling calender. I did that the first week I worked there - that would be back in April. And NOW he decides he has a problem with it? Wouldn't surprise me - he's very inconsistent about enforcing rules. If he likes you, you don't have to follow them; if not, you'd better follow them to the letter - and even then he'll find fault. And several of the baggers have been floating my name around to replace him as head bagger (I think they do this in February), even though I've told them I don't want the job. So I have the feeling that may have something to do with this.

So I have to go in and talk to him tomorrow. I'll be polite, but I won't be pushed around. If he gives me a hard time about it, I'll just say, "Well, let's call yesterday my last day, shall we?" and leave. I'm sure we'll find a way to live without the $4-5 an hour I've been making the last few weeks.

Okay. Rant over. It feels good to get that out.

Pat, it sounds like maybe its time for you to move on. Maybe you could supplement the $ from this job by doing some pet sitting (sittercity.com has a section for pet sitters to find work) or do ebay?? I guess it depends on what you were making before, but there are lots of options out there where you can be in charge of your time and plan your vacations as you see fit.

 Hugs in the meantime!

It was so cute. It really felt like you were going "under the sea". They did a really good job on it.

I can't wait until the one at wdw is open!

I can't wait until the one at wdw is open!

We did the character breakfast on the WBPC cruise in 2008. Our server reminded us the night before about the character breakfast being the next morning. I will make sure I ask our server this time when it is. I don't want to miss it.

I did not know they were building and Ariel's Undersea adventure in Florida? It must be part of the new Fantasyland. Can't wait until it's done. We are doing the 5 night New Year's Eve Double dip, Castaway Cay Dream Cruise and 3 nights in WDW, but I don't think the new Fantasyland will be done yet. I want to eat a the Be Our Guest resteraunt. Oh well, I will just have to go back when it is done.

Character Breakfast. Your date and time for your character breakfast will be on your little dining ticket that will be in your room when you first get there. Also on this ticket are your dining rotation, times and table number. Good idea to take it with you at least the first night(or if you are like me or John you will need it every night( ;)). Your server should remind you about your character breakfast the night before, but they do occasionally forget with all the work they are doing and they also might miss you leaving the dining room, so make a note from the dining ticket and mark it somewhere.

Are the adult areas enforced? Not that I don't like kids, but I do enjoy some time away from them and I know on Costa it was not. And before the flames start... That is my only issue with Costa they were great every other way.

I have never seen kids get into the pool, but have seen people bring their kids into the area and sit with them at the tables, or the chairs over by the window and nothing was said to them.

Now just going out with DS for his second driving lesson of the day, I really hope he passes his driving test next week. Now have so much to do for the cruise !!!
margaret

Ah driving lessons, we are dealing with those as well!

It's the saving of entire rows in the Walt Disney Theatre that irks me the most. My sister almost hit a man that was saving the entire second row one night on the Dream. He was so nasty and arrogant about it.

What is getting me irky lately is when people have to pick out a table and save it, when they don't even have their food yet. (at like fast food restaurants, nothing to do with the cruise)

I've already got my embarkation shirt picked out - how fun is this?

Mickey Mouse Surf Tours Shirt

very cute shirt!

The chair saving thing is a big pet peeve of mine. Hopefully it is enforced. I can save a few passive aggressive comments for those who choose to do this, though...my snarky comments go everywhere with me. Even on vacation!

A man after my own heart!!!! Things like that really grate me  I like to throw around a few quiet comments at such an occasion!!

:lmao: People after my own heart..lol My DS19 likes to say, under his breath, "passive aggressive much, Mom?"

:cool1:

Useful information about taxi services in Barcelona
◦Weekend nights have a surplus of 2.10 €.
◦Each piece of luggage will mean a charge of 1 €.
◦If you are getting a taxi by phone, you can expect the taxicab to come with the taximeter already running. That amount cannot, however, exceed 3.22 € during the day, 3.99 € night, or 6.50 € on Fridays, Saturdays or holidays at night.
◦Motorway tolls are paid separately by the passenger.
◦Taxi drivers are only required to carry change for payment up to 20 €.
Found this here http://www.worldtaximeter.com/

Thanks, Mic. I also noticed there was a surcharge to enter the port or the airport...forgot exactly how much, but I think around 3 euro!!

We had a spreadsheet for this on the ebta this year!! Of course spreadsheets were accessible & no one had to take PMs & be a responsible organizer, lol, we just let it evolve because there were so many prince & princess fans on our cruise. Looks like there are now too!! princess:
