The Old Blandy Wine Lodge is in downtown Funchal and is where you can taste and take a tour of who Madeira wine is made.

Here is the Old Blandy Wine Lodge Link

If you decided you want to tour, please sign up for the 4:30 PM tour and let me know so I can note my spreadsheet.

Any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to PM me or post on the thread.
Noel

Thanks Noel, we probably will just head back to the ship after the tour.

just wanted to say a huge thank you to pat for the awesome job on the FE, not only is it easy to read, but i said i can't go over 49 cabins, and i've got 48 :thumbsup2 couldn't have worked that out any better!

Awww, thanks!

Of course, there always has to be a wrinkle, but it's not much of one. I had one super-last-minute request, and since there was one slot left on the Port Canaveral list, I added them. I hope that's okay with everyone. They asked very nicely.

But that's absolutely, positively it!! All the slots are filled on the seven lists. From this point on, anyone who wants to join goes on the overflow list, however long - or short - that ends up being.

thanks to everyone who's PM'd me their rooms for the secret mickey, have updated the front page with room numbers.

welcome natasha, i've added you to the SM exchange

hope i've replied to everyone's PMs, i've had like 15 or something today, so apologies if i havent, but i have actioned all of them so its all good :thumbsup2

that'll make things easier for you too pat i guess, at least you can stick all the latecomers on their own sheet and they can sort themselves out!

I am so excited to join all of you on this amazing trip. :cool1: In the past, I traveled on the Maiden Eastern Transatlantic. Now, I'm looking forward to bringing the Magic home. I will be traveling with my long term boyfriend/partner Erik. He has only traveled once on DCL and it didn't go well. He was very sea sick. I'm so nervous for him.:scared: Since we are going to be spending so much time of the ship we are looking forward to meeting you and participating in all the fun planned activities. Thank you to all the members that have worked so hard to put it together. I am trying to catch up some on this thread :surfweb: but I don't think we will be able to read everything. A little about ourselves. We are from Fort Collins, CO USA and will not be traveling with our son this time. He can not miss three weeks of school. We are flying out of Houston, TX on 09/07/11 on British Airways to London and then onto Barcelona, Spain. Is there anyone else living in our area or flying out the same date?

Looking forward to getting to know you!!

hi and welcome to you both :cheer2:

everyone's starting to post about all the exchanges that are closed now, but just wanted to let everyone know that the secret mickey is still open, as of today we are at an impressive 31 cabins

Is anyone on the same flight as us out of JFK?

We're on American Airlines flight 152 on Thursday night the 8th.

We are JFK on the 8th. Leaving at 7:15 pm on Delta. Maybe we will be on the same concourse. Nothing like starting the party early!

Great mask!! I wish I were so creative!

I'm planning on giving more than one, i'm making up little bags with lots of different things in. :thumbsup2

Well done you, I wish i'd had a go at making my FE now but I just didn't even think about I just ordered one on ebay.....oh well there is always next time.

We've got a few bits to give to each room too.

Thanks Claire...I think I would've been better off buying mine from eBay too.

Hazel - the mask is great. I don't think I've seen one like it :thumbsup2

For the HOHO busses in Barcelona, is there a particular company that you are supposed to book through? Or are they all the same? It's more confusing to me than the ones in London. Thanks!! :goodvibes

We really preferred the one with the big eyeball on it, rather than the red one. They are priced about the same but the eye one was more reliable, with more frequent buses, in our experience:

Yes, I did drop out (of the Hawaiian cruise) - I do have a college degree :goodvibes

Odd thing is I am not that fond of long cruises with a bunch of Sea Days; I was bored on last year's EBTA but then loved the 11-night Med with all the ports. But I'm giving the TA another shot and am planning on maximizing the DCL activities, hoping others will do the same and have company at the Trivia contests, Adult Cabaret in Rockin' Bar D... There were a lot of blocks of time last year with nothing offered. Also, goofprincess and her husband are onboard and I know we'll have fun winning Disney trivia - just try and beat us.
Hello Lynne,

I, too, love to play trivia when I get a chance. I would rather join you than try to beat you. Especially if all of the trivia games have a Disney theme.

Ultimately, I realized that one day at each of the main islands, and having to be back onboard at 7:30pm just wasn't enough for me. I have lived in Honolulu for 4 months and been back over the last few years for multi-week vacations and decided if I go to the islands I'll just to do my timeshares.

Now, if I had never been to Hawaii, this could be a fun taste sampler. And I think it could be really fun to do it with DCL. Lots of opportunity for fun theming (and costumes for the characters).

We lived in Hawai'i for three years back in the 80's and loved it. We just visited again this past January for the first time since. Due to bad weather we were unable to disembark for two of the four days (missed Maui and Kauai). It was great to see some of our old friends, but much too short of a visit.

Also feeling a little guilty that I spend so much time away from Dad while on vacation. (Would so love to do the 42-night RCCI B2B2B from New Orleans-Barcelona-Dubai-Singapore for $2000 pp in April - but I am cruising the MV of the Fantasy on March 31).
We booked the New Orleans-Barcelona leg of this cruise before they changed the itinerary. We are debating whether or not to add on the Dubai and Singapore legs. The price is very tempting.

More than I would care to admit, I am sure. But it makes me feel like I've used my brain and accomplished something. Right now, my computer screen "stickie" is empty, meaning I haven't got anything selected for this week (which ends tomorrow). Only one new cruiser, though, if I remember correctly. Since I've read all the posts to date, I'll just do a quick run-through.

And remember, I don't work. Just hang out with my 82 yo dad and my sister's Cocker Spaniel, swim in the pool....

However much effort you put in to your summaries, you have my thanks.

Regards,
Jerry

Finally I have decided what door magnets I am going to do. We are going w/ a Toy Story theme and hopefully lots of people can enjoy our magnets since we'll be somewhat near (but not right across from!)the mid ship elevators on deck 6.

Liz, we plan on ordering from Zazzle:

Mickey Mouse Club T-Shirts

We ordered ours from Zazzle a while back. They came out really nice.

I just ordered mine too! I got the ladies ringer t with the rings in red...hope it comes out as nice as it looks online!! :goodvibes

Thanks guys!!! You are the best :goodvibes

Welcome Natasha & Erik! For Erik's seasickness, I would bring multiple seasick-aids and see what works best for him. If it were me, I'd bring the bonine/dramamine pills, seabands and also some ginger candies (like Ginger Babies.) I hope between all of these items, he will find something to keep the seasickness at bay!

Odd thing is I am not that fond of long cruises with a bunch of Sea Days; I was bored on last year's EBTA but then loved the 11-night Med with all the ports. Hopefully this TA will be a different story for you Lynne.

I was surprised that I didn't get bored on last year's TA - in fact, I would've liked more sea days! We did a 14 day back-to-back Alaska itinerary a few years ago on Holland and after the first 7 days, even with the magnificent scenery, the sea days were starting to drag on for me. We actually bought a board (read bored) game in one of the ports b/c there was so little going on activity-wise! But for the Disney TA I was completely happy - I guess that is the difference with Disney.

Anyhow, here's to a better cruise this time!

Couldnt post photo of mine as didnt really show up no matter how i took it!

Love this mask!! Did Hazel paint over the cut out pictures with some kind of glaze? It looks really nice. :thumbsup2
