And if I can now beg for some more wisdom... Disneyland Paris. My plan is to go for one day and attempt to go to both parks. Every guidebook suggests buying your tickets ahead of time. For my fellow americans, how do you do this? Is it best to order from the british site?

When we went a few years ago, I booked our tickets on us.disneylandparis.com and printed them from home and took them with us.

It looks like a one-day park hopper ticket is going for $72 right now.

I want to thank everyone who gave me advice about 1800flyeurope. Just booked one way to BCN Houston to Philadelphia, then on to BCN arriving at 8:25am on Sept 9th! Figure there has to be other Dis'ers on that flight since its a nonstop! Scored a great rate too - $637.39 total! :thumbsup2 Had plans to stop by London but that did not pan out but really OK with that! Will allow me to spend more time at home with my family and work on my business! :goodvibes
So, now its really real, all airfares booked, rooming with Evelyn one night at the Renaissance, and have a stateroom assigned!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3:This is going to be such an amazing cruise, ya'll!!!! (all this excitement makes me talk like a Texan! :rotfl::laughing::banana:)

So glad it all worked out for you, and Evelyn too :yay:

Read all about the packing cubes, went over to the Mousesavers site, on to eBags and ordered some cubes with their discount. Thank you so much for introducing me to them - sure to save room!!!:thumbsup2

:dance3: Very exciting & a great price.

You'll be able to come to the DIS meet at the Hard Rock Cafe on the 9th that Sarah (Totallyangellic) is arranging. :thumbsup2

Sounds good! :)The two things on my bucket list for Barcelona is to take a cooking class and go to El Palau de la Musica Catalan, either for a tour during the day, or maybe a concert. Going over to check their schedule now. Anyone planning to do either?

I was at work today when I checked my emails, zipped over here and very quickly saw a post that someone had gotten their room assignments. I immediately tried to get on DCL website but I guess my IT guy thinks it is porn or something because the site was blocked. :surfweb::surfweb:

So I head home and I call 800 free info line, but they don't have a listing for DCL!! So then I call another Disney number that I get from the automated system, and it is Disney Casting in Orlando. I ask the guy who answers if he can get me the DCL number, and he gives me a 407 number that doesn't work. (This is all while I'm driving to pick up my kids!). So then I call my mom and ask her to google the DCL phone number and FINALLY she finds it and I call and---"your expected wait time is 6 minutes".

So I pick up my first child with my phone stuck to my ear. Finally as I'm putting him in his car seat I get a person on the phone and give them my reservation and...not assigned yet. :(

Now I've got the other child and am at home constantly re-logging on DCL but still just says GTY. I have to head out to Little Gym for back to back gym lessons, no internet service and won't be home until 7pm. Still no assignment. I am going to go nuts until I get home wondering about the assignment!!! I can call DCL but I don't want to do that more than 1 or 2x tonight because I don't want them to think I'm some kind of nutjob :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

No concerts on Sept 9th for El Palau de la Musica so maybe just a tour. Here's the site if anyone is interested:
http://www.palaumusica.org/

There is Flamenco every Friday night at 9pm at this place (we had lunch here) close to the Pablo Picasso museum in the Gothic Quarter: www.restaurantenervion.com
Not sure how authentic it is but they have show and a cerveza (beer or glass of sangria) listed for 12 euro, 2nd drink 3.5 euro. Show plus menu is 35 euro.

Maybe something to do after the Hard Rock Cafe meet! :thumbsup2

We are on the same flight as you Taina. See you in Philly!

That look like a good price. By the entrence you pay 69 euro 2parks/1day.
There are cheaper methods, but $72 is near that. So do as Chris said.

What many of you should realise and fully understand before the cruise is that food on a DCL cruise contain absolutely no calories whatsoever.:thumbsup2;)

:yay::dance3::banana::cool1:We got ours 6592!!!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cheer2:

NO FAIR!!! I still don't have mine...it's getting close to 5 in FL, so i'm guessing I will STILL be waiting tomorrow.....:headache:

I see you are from Ocoee. We are moving to FL, and right now my DH is staying at my MIL's in Stoneybrook West. We've looked at a couple of subdivisions in Ocoee, but haven't decided for sure...which is just fine, because my house here hasn't "decided" to sell yet!! :sad2:

:woohoo: So pleased you finally got yours. :) Did you get upgraded?

Hope everyone still waiting gets some :wizard: upgrades soon.

Well I don't know if I got an upgrade for sure. It is from 5C to 5B both are Deluxe staterooms with Verandah's. No idea what the difference is (if there is one)

Yep. I am living in Ocoee. I like it because it is very quite. The only downside is that it is far from work since we both work on Disney property. I know where Stoneybrook West is. Right by the Winter Garden Village. I love that place.

Got our's - slight pixie dust. Had switched to a 10C GTY... and we got 10B on deck two. We didn't book the IGTY, but rather 10C GTY. No "big" upgrade. But YAY for those who ARE getting upgrades!! Curt will be happy he still gets his inside for dark sleeping... maybe that will help my girls fall asleep for naps. :thumbsup2

Maybe soon! A lot more are showing up on the FB page now - make sure you're logged out...lol

I have been intrigued by these backing cubes and the like. How are they better than just packing your stuff in your bag? If I could justify I would probably buy but I can't figure out how it is any better, other than organizationally, to have these than to just put the stuff in my bag. Any insight would be appreciated! :)

For years, I have used 2-gallon freezer Ziploc bags and have recently used the XL Ziploc storage bags. Keeps stuff together and dry (in case suitcases get transported to the plane on an open cart or someone else's luggage contents leak. Also helps compress the contents. TSA can see what's inside since they are clear. (Not to belittle the cubes - I started this years ago.)

Yes, that's what we like about our little town! ...Here's our subdivision in our town if you want to have a peek!
www.fulbrook.net

I like those old oaks and the "country" look of the neighborhood. We also don't have curbs and gutters in our neighborhood; hence, the appearance of being out in the country - along with large lots (most of us sit on an acre, having been built in the early 1960s).

...Does DH stand for Disney Husband (as opposed to non-disney husband), Darling Husband, Dear Husband, Damn Husband, etc.? thanks, Jean and Charlie

Yes. Whichever applies to your situation.

If we use acronyms that you don't recognize, just put XX? and someone should answer. Some have multiple meanings, ie, TA = travel agent or Transatlantic.
