So I guess when Mary was talking about snowballs she wasn't talking about these ...

ETA: whoa, didn't know picture was going to be that big!

I miss all of the hostess products ( I can get twinkies here, but at $2.50ish for a single one, I pass)... But I did always enjoy snowballs esp at Halloween when they are orange.

So I went and did all the maths tests ect and waited for a call back which then consisted of a panel interview. I was offered the job and went for a briefing of the terms of the contract. Money was just not enough (I was on a very high wage due to the calibre of people I worked for) and although I could prob have dealt with this I didn't like the idea I might also have to call bingo lol.

So years later I am finally making the "magic" happen for me and wonder if they will let me take a nosy in the nursery.

I am actually hoping to apply eventually as a youth counselor on the ships after doing an internship at WDW in january... I also want to see if I can meet with someone on the ship to see the facilities :-)

Good for you, I think that would be a really fun thing to do. You will have to keep all of us posted on that. We could sail with you someday.:woohoo::woohoo:

Not sure why I have not thought to share this story with you lot before but just thought I would now.

Before we opened up our childminding from home I was a nanny as was Annemarie (this is how we met).
Well many moons ago I decided I would like to work on a cruise ship with the littlies, and low and behold Disney had a new ship they were getting ready for, the ship was called Magic !

So I called over to Florida and alas interviews in London had already taken place and onto round two.
Never mind I thought, but then I get a call to say we would have put you through due to your experience so be in London tomorrow.

WHAT a great story! Funny how life works out, isn't it?

I had a little chuckle after reading this  I lovingly call Ed a loud mouth Yank ... well he is a little loud, but he seems to yell in comparison to me as I am very quiet spoken. Which sometimes is misunderstood as being shy, but really my voice doesn't go that loud ... unless you are talking about screaming ... On our first cruise one of the CM's said "come on I need you to make some noise" After getting just a dull roar from the crowd, he said whoever makes the loudest noise gets a prize. I let out a blood curdling scream, and our tablemates jaws dropped to the ground, they just couldn't believe a noise that loud had come out of me :lmao: Needless to say I won the prize :rolleyes1 It's just what they say; it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for.

Great advice :thumbsup2

Oh, which excursion did they cancel?

That's so funny! I can't wait to hear you YELL:laughing:

I'd heard about this & plan to do that. Can you clarify though, if my refillable mug takes two cupfuls to fill it up, do I use two separate cups or is it deemed ok to use one cup twice since it I have not drank from it, just held it at the base?

One un "drunk from" cup should be fine.

Hi guys.

Welcome newcomers!!!

Think it was Marilyn who asked? Wont be home soon, week or longer. Still problametic and new problems from fluidlack found. Seriously talking about cancelling. Time will tell. Truely apprec. the support.

Just in case, if need be; anyone willing to organise te candy swap? If so pm me. If needed, Ill be handing that over around aug 5th if any takers.

Sending much Pixie dust, Jacquilyn for your MUCH improved health and wellbeing.

Yes I do like Advocaat, in fact I have a full unopened bottle in the cupboard....it reminds me of Christmas though, we can put some Christmas Carols on by the pool. :lmao:

Great idea about the Cassis, I could buy some of those cheap travel bottles and do the same. :thumbsup2

I got mine in poundland, they are so expensive in boots :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that you're having a great time Mary!

I've always wanted to stay at Beach Club - they do have the best pool :goodvibes

Thanks Liz, having a great time. Just back from Epcot and cooking dinner. We love the Beach Club, it's my second choice to the Wilderness Lodge. Stormalong Bay is great, but the quiet DVC pool is lovely :lovestruc

Hi Claire :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: see you in 45 days

I thought of you this afternoon in Epcot when we were in the wine shop in Italy. I spotted the Rosa Regale and thought there was enough there to keep you and Mary going for about a week :lmao:

I just got a new money belt. This one says it is "theft proof". It has a wire running through the belt part that can not be cut. And trust me, if anyone would try to steal it I would know about it ;);). This is the first time I had seen one like that.

Where did you find it?

...But snow can be so pretty...

even in Alabama:

We had a white Christmas in 2010; that's our dogwood tree and the pool screenhouse behind:

It was still there the next day (which is unusual); puppy tracks in the snow:

And more snow in January, which stayed on the ground for at least 5 days.

Thanks for the help today with our currency purchase! Hopefully the repairperson showed back up to fix your AC. Poor DHs brain was definitely on overload today.....

No worries. I wouldn't have wanted you to pay more then you needed to for your currency.

The repair guy came by and looked at it and declared our compressor DOA. They have to order the part. They are suppose to call with estimates (I am assuming tomorrow since he didn't finish until right before 5pm.) A quick glance around the internet said that this puppy could cost us easily $1500+:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: Just what we need when we are trying to pay off a cruise. I think my DH nearly:scared::sad::faint: when I told him. Anybody want to contribute to an A/C fund?:rolleyes1

Wow, what a great story. I guess it just goes to show that things always work out in the end. :goodvibes

I've never thought of Alabama as having snow, I always think of it as being warm. So, I learnt something new today :goodvibes

Yes, it is warm here most of the time. Or hot, like today; I think it was upper 90s + humidity. The last few winters seem to be colder earlier and longer. This year had the most snow days I can remember; the schools were out for at least a week during one snow. That is not factored into the weather days, but they finally just punted the missed days and finished on schedule.

You do know that Boots in a pharmacy in Europe, right? They sell their products in Target in the US.

ST MAARTEN CURRENCY

Anyone ever been to St Maarten? I know Aurore has. Most websites say we can use US $ in St Maarten and euros in St Martin. Can someone verify?

I KNOW you can use dollars on the Dutch side - beyond that, someone else will have to help you.

No I didn't know that Boots is a pharmacy, but that sounds like an unusual place to sell alcohol ... unless this time they actually aren't talking about alcohol. I'm so confused :confused3
