I've never done a scrapbook before, but I've decided I want to make one for this trip. I've picked up some paper, borders, and embellishments, and I've got a couple of extra packages of the chipboard embellishments from Joann's that were posted a while back. I also bought some pretty Disney paper - it was on clearance, so I grabbed all the sheets they had!

I'm not signed up for the scrapbook exchange, but I'll trade the paper and extra embellishment packages for some advice and tips on how to make this thing. I don't want to crash the exchange, so maybe I can meet up with a couple of you in the Cove Cafe or Promenade Lounge at some point for a lesson.

I will be more then happy to give u tips I would also look at WWW.scrapyourtrip.com. they usually have page ideas up too. I am going to try once again to upload some of my pages for you guys to see.

Hi Seamour :)
I just want the spas to give their clients the best service possible, and to give them something worth paying for :thumbsup2

I love seeing someone that takes pride in their profession! I honestly rarely get my nails done so was just repeating what I heard.

Have her contact her teachers prior to school starting (such as when they are inservice), explain what's going on, and try to request missing assignments. The sooner the better -- that way she can "get ahead" prior to leaving for Barcelona. And I'm not sure about your state and attendance laws if in public school, but in some states you can withdraw her, state you are homeschooling her (just have to show a curriculum if asked, and there are many online programs), and then re-enroll her upon returning so that the absences don't count against her. Each state has a varying degree of homeschooling guidelines, with some being very easy. (I'm also a certified principal... but tutor kiddos in multiple states online. Some of my students are budding actresses who go to LA for pilot season each Spring and miss 10-12 weeks of school.) Yes, it's hard for students/teachers when one misses, but in the big picture, living life and building those family memories is so very important.

I have a few trips under my belt with them... alone! The hardest part is always going through security while juggling the little one. My four-year-old is big enough now she is really a great help. But since we are spending a few days in NYC before those couple nights in Barcelona, I'm hoping the sling allows us better ease of hopping on/off the subway and blending in with the crowds. I'm just thrilled not to be hauling the car seats along with us for this trip! Renting them with the car in Orlando.
thank you for the great advice, I will definately try to do that, only problem is we are doing an Alaskan/Canada trip right before hand and will be gone for 2 weeks, here's to hoping they might be around before we leave. :P We are discussing homeschooling for this year as well. (we are in MN btw). My son did Connections Academy for 2 years (I have issues with our middle school over all anyways, our elementary and high school are AWESOME), but she wants to do choir and the play, with Connections you cannot participate in local school district activities as you are technically enrolled in another school district. So anyways, we are working on things to make everyone happy.

I do not miss the days of hauling all the baby gear while travelling.

Since we've come back from WDW this is what I've heard the last few days from Lorelei. "I meet Cinderella. I meet Belle. I big hug Beast. I meet Mickey Mouse. I eat Cinderella's Castle." Obviously she's 2 so we don't have our past tense down and we get to hear the same phrases over and over again but it's nice to know we're raising our Disney fan properly. :rotfl:

TOO CUTE!

thought I would do a quick intro before I start reading through (at least page 4) all the older posts.

I am Mic, and travelling with my youngest Sarah (13) and hoping my oldest Talena (24) will get to join us. We live in MN and I was lucky enough to do the EBTA and when my new friend Monique said she was going on the WBTA, I talked DH into letting us go.

:)

I am in the process of getting our name on the rollcall, signing up for the FEE and seeing what all else is going on.[/QUOTE

My daughter Mallory is also 13, Hopefuly they may get to know each other onboard! :goodvibes

I hope Sarah and Mallory can get to know each other, Sarah is in the process of posting on the kids thread right now. Does Mallory post on there? 2 weeks is along time to "hang out with mom", she will need some friends!

I'm enjoying following along with your reading, Mic (partly because I haven't done that yet with even one thread :worship: )!!
Sorry to say, this is NOT what they followed on the ebta. We had thought they would do that typical rotation, but...because of all of the specialty dinners & wanting to coordinate the timing of regular rotational menus, it was quite different in actual practice.

Ours, for instance, had 2 nights in a row in PC, 6 total, and only 4 total in Lumiere...the same as Lisa's!! :thumbsup2

.

our rotation was odd as well. In fact I think we were on the same one? We had PC 2 nights in a row and 6 total also.

What size (format) are you doing? My scrapbooks are all 12 x 12. Let me know the size and I'll bring some stuff along for you that (I hope) should be easy!

Hi all,

Steve, Andrew and I travel quite a bit. I used to put a brightly colored strap around my bag so that I could find them easier. But, then the strap broke and I noticed that others were doing that so....

Well, about 2 years ago I made a luggage tag from the Mickey ears paint chips that you can find at Home Depot. I cut out a piece of paper that becomes the "information" piece of the tag and stick it to the back side of one of the Mickey's, laminate it, but an eyelet in it and then attach it with a ribbon to my luggage. It's bright, colorful, fun and, the best part, is not too many people have a Mickey Ear luggage tag!

Just thought I'd suggest it to my fellow Disney nuts!

Keri

Thanks Lynne for the Sept 11 memorial photos.
I got my first airport security pat down a few months ago. Hoping for a second in Boston before the cruise!:rotfl:

:rotfl:

So there you have the history of Trevor the Traveller! :thumbsup2

Trevor the Traveller is super cute! Love the idea!

YAY!!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

This time in 9 weeks Lee & I will have had our Palo Brunch and be chilling on a sun lounger on Deck 10 with a glass of something alcoholic!!! :cloud9: :cool1: :cool2:
I have finally had a break through with the personalized part of my FE gifts, I have just finished the first one and am really pleased with it. I can't wait to give them out to my cruise buddies. :cool1: Now I just need to make the rest, good job we've still got 2 months as they take ages! :lmao:
Awesome thought for 9 weeks! And I LOVE when I get a great idea for FE and it turns out the way you pictured it!

On the first day of the EBTA we were blessed with a new grandson. I got a picture by email of him and had shutters print me a 5X7. I took a white mat to guest services and had the characters sign it. Also Capt John signed and dated it. We had Mickey sign the picture and he put happy birthday on it.... I have to say it turned out just so cute. His mom and dad where excited to get it. These are things you just can't buy...... :woohoo:

that sounds super cute Jill! I did pillowcases for all my kids last cruise, will have to come up with something different this time around.

So there you have the history of Trevor the Traveller! :thumbsup2

Just not sure what to make it out of, paper/full magnet etc. as we have tested writing on a magnet and it just doesnt work. Any suggestions??

My roaming door magnet design

Your magnet looks great and Trevor is sooo cute.

Are you doing an A4 size magnet? If so, I buy the matt inkjet magnetic paper from ebay and this would definitely be easy to write on rather than gloss paper :thumbsup2 I think don't think it's expensive

I know ;) i'm hoping you'll be on the sun lounger next to me sharing one of our many alcoholic choices. :lmao:

Thanks, i'll have to show you what i've made onboard. :thumbsup2

I made Lee try his Tux on yesterday as it's been in the back of the wardrobe for a year or two so that is ready to be packed. :cool1:

Definitely Hun with a glass of something tall and strong in our hands :lmao::lmao:

I'm glad the Tux fits :)

I'll meet you both at the dessert table! :rotfl:

You'll bump into Stevie there about 3 times, if he is doing his usual :rotfl2:

Oh that sounds fun, can I gate crash Cove Cafe for a wee look at what you've been doing with your scrapbooking too :)

Night 4. Show was "The High Energy Comedy of Alfred and Seymour" (totally hilarious, if you get a chance to see them go, they are on the Dream right now)

OMG I love Alfred and Seymour. We saw them on the Baltic Repo cruise last summer, they were absolutely hilarious. I was hoping that they would be on the WBTA and had checked their website for tour dates, but it is not up-to-date. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are still on the Dream for our cruise in a few weeks time :wizard: or they are on the WBTA.

We love Alfred and Seymour too, the best entertainers we have seen onboard. I hope they are on our TA!! Hilarious.:thumbsup2

trying that now, thanks! I couldn't figure that one out

I think I was a member for months before someone told me. So much easier when you have lots of posts to read.

trevor is looking great hazel, i'm in the process of finding a graphic for mine, will post it when i get it sorted.

I use those for door magnets and they work great. I would suggest once you get all the signatures on it that you laminate it. It will last much longer that way.

I love your Trevor! he is adorable and what fun for the kids to have. Maybe you should make one for the characters to sign as well. You could take it to guest services and ask to have it signed.

:

What a great idea to get an extra one for the characters to sign as well, thanks for that tip! :thumbsup2

I have been having a go at designing a door magnet this afternoon that i can use for one of the roaming door magnets we have been discussing. I wanted to show you my design and explain the background behind the figure!

We are both childminders (home daycare providers) and we have a big fluffy bear dressed as a pirate that the children named Trevor. He is a travelling bear that goes away on holiday with them and they take lots of photos and he and they have lots of fun together.
He had his first trip to WDW last year and he will be joining us on the wbta, but i thought i would use his photo on our roaming door magnet so that we could take it back to the children and put on our display board.

So there you have the history of Trevor the Traveller! :thumbsup2

Thank you!! I'm thinking I'll do a 12 x 12. That's the size of the paper I bought.

Oh that sounds fun, can I gate crash Cove Cafe for a wee look at what you've been doing with your scrapbooking too :)

Absolutely!! I need all the help I can get!

Sure thing Pat, it would be good to have a little meet.

Tomorrow i'll take a few pics of pages i've made to show you and hopefully give you a few ideas. I should say i'm no expert, i've not fully completed many scrapbooks but I have fun making pages and I guess that's what counts. :) I have loads of paper & photo's printed ready to go but i'm so far behind that I don't know where to start....i'm guessing I should just work backwards from the latest holiday or i'll never catch up.

We will definitely have a little get together in Cove Cafe, there were some people on the scrapbook exchange that wanted to get together so once all the tastings etc are booked with dcl we can arrange a time. :thumbsup2

I love my croc flip flops!!!!!

I wouldn't know if I saw you in the same dress, LOL so I won't even have to pretend! Can't wait to see you again!

The WBTA schedule will not be the same... The days at sea and port days will be different. So I don't think we will have the same schedule.. guess I could be wrong :confused3

I love my crocs too! I will be wearing them every day!

That is a cute Idea... I have heard of it before. it could also be a good FE project.....

Welcome all new cruisers!

I think this time around I will not have as many dress up clothes and formals... with out DH I won't be doing so many pics. So keeping it simple. I will bring a semi formal but not a long one. If you see me in the same dress... just pretend you haven't already seen it....:rotfl2::rotfl2: So that means less shoes!:rotfl:QUOTE said:
I think this should be a rule! I too will have to recycle my evening dresses.:rotfl:

Bit of a difficult day today, last night a 54kg weight fell on my foot and i ha a xray today and I have a hairline fracture. Didnt help that when I told my boss this morning I couldn't get into work as my foot was injured and even my trainer wouldnt go on his reaction was "not on, wear flipflops I cant get cover on such short notice"!!!! Surely not good management

That reminds me... for those new cruisers... you may want to bring something like a mat picture frame or a pillowcase to take to guest services as well.

What a great idea! I would have never thought to have a pillow case be signed. such an easy item to pack. I'll definitely be suggesting this item to friends in the future.
