mine are in the other room, what did you want to know?
For each day,

  1. what was the night Walt Disney Theatre Show (Dreams, Twice Enchanted...)
  2. Dinner attire (formal, cruise casual)
  3. Dinner theme/menu (Rotation, Captain's Gala...)
  4. who was the adult cabaret act/what was their specialty (ie, magic, juggling)

Today we paid for our tips, wine plan and meal plan for after the cruise...so happy to get some of this done:cool1:

Congrats on getting that done. Makes it all seem so much nearer now.

thought I would do a quick intro before I start reading through (at least page 4) all the older posts.

I am Mic, and travelling with my youngest Sarah (13) and hoping my oldest Talena (24) will get to join us. We live in MN and I was lucky enough to do the EBTA and when my new friend Monique said she was going on the WBTA, I talked DH into letting us go.

:)

I am in the process of getting our name on the rollcall, signing up for the FEE and seeing what all else is going on.

Hi and welcome.

Yes , I am talking about the one on St Maarten, but maybe yours was a different tour as this one doesn't have any sea part, just the butterflies and Marigot and touring the Island.

:welcome: Seamour you have given me a good chuckle  I have never seen anyone post so many messages in a row :chat: You sound really excited for this cruise :hyper:

Well that should be a shorter trip. I would stick with it unless the private on that someone is organising on here looks more interesting???:confused3

Seymour, you can(if you want) do Multi Quote by clicking the Multi Quote button at the bottom right of the post you want to quote. That turns it red to let you know it has been noted. Keep doing that till you have a good number to reply to and then do your reply.;)

3 pairs of crocs? I guess if you count my flip flops (2) I own 3 pairs of crocs. LOL!

Wow you've been very busy....6 pages.

My crocs are the flip flop variety, not the full foot kind.

Welcome onboard.

DCL did an awesome job as always, but much like anything alot of it was due to the incredible people I met onboard as well, so as more of them started signing up, I just couldn't help myself! I cannot wait to see so many of them again, AND to meet all of you as well!

I'm anxious to see you again Mic. So glad you get to bring your daughter this time. We did have fun on the EBTA!

I was thinking about this too, we did have alot wanting to join on the EBTA. You could easily split what you have by Aug 1 and like Jill suggested started a late comers group for anyone after that? I will only be joining one (you multi group people amaze me but at least I don't have to worry about someone not getting jill's FEE gifts :P, but we did plan a few extras to bring with on the EBTA just in case.) Jill did you see the little girl that was in our hallway, she was across from a family with conx cabins and saw their FE's and so decorated her door, the family tipped us off about her and we put stuff in her FE quite often. it was fun! LOL. (we were on Dec 5 starboard up past the Secret porthole rooms)

Mic, I tried to hit any that I saw even if not on my list. I also befriended a couple in the terminal that had 2 little girls and started taking magnets, candy and FE gifts to them. I told the dad to put a bag out and I would bring them surprises.... I saw them later and they were so happy about it. I love helping bring a little magic to the kids on board....pixiedust:

Just spit at my screen! LOL! Of course you did have the vow renewal which required "more"

Of Course... and thanks for attending our vow renewal. I think there were about 60 people there. It was so nice. And thanks to Damian for doing it for us....

I think this time around I will not have as many dress up clothes and formals... with out DH I won't be doing so many pics. So keeping it simple. I will bring a semi formal but not a long one. If you see me in the same dress... just pretend you haven't already seen it....:rotfl2::rotfl2: So that means less shoes!:rotfl:

I really struggle with learning language, the oral side of them (hearing/speaking) more so than reading. then again my husband is always picking on me for mispronouncing words in English too, perhaps I just read too much. LOL! But I agree some people definately have a talent for languages, wish I was one of them as I love them!

My best language is Texan..... which some say is not the same as english...:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I dont know if this is what you looking for.

Norman

Thank you for the link, even though it wasn't me who asked (well, telepathically I did).

Good morning Lynne. Can't you sleep?

Took a really nice, long nap yesterday afternoon - after sleeping normal people hours (10p - 5:30am) the night before. Now I'm out of whack again. I think my circadian clock is not on a 24-hour cycle.

But it's seamour that's been up all night reading this thread, so it seems.

Good morning cruisers. :goodvibes

It looks like you have been catching up with the thread whilst we were sleeping. :lmao:

I really want to say it's something to do with enviromental laws and what they are allowed to use. At least that is niggling somewhere in my brain, which is unreliable at best, but I do think I heard something about that.

Hi Seamour :)

We have environmental laws to follow on land, but other than the disposal of chemicals, I can't see it being different on a ship. Any cotton wipes with acrylic or gel or acetone on them would be disposed of in a metal bin (to contain the odours), then would be taken off the ship separately rather than in the general garbage. I imagine the ship has policies for disposal of such materials.

I would hate to think that the spas are justifying poor services that don't last by saying that they aren't allowed to use the "good" products because of environmental laws. :confused3 Particularly in regards to nail polish - there are many excellent brands that are very safe, and the ship spas should be using those ones if they are concerned. Besides, it's being applied to nails, not dumped into the ocean! Nail techs, in my experience, are very careful with their waste products - it's not worth it to be careless.

I just want the spas to give their clients the best service possible, and to give them something worth paying for :thumbsup2

:welcome: to all the new cruisers

thanks that has always been my philosophy, hope her teachers feel the same way! She will be there for 2 days and then gone for 2 1/2 weeks!

Have her contact her teachers prior to school starting (such as when they are inservice), explain what's going on, and try to request missing assignments. The sooner the better -- that way she can "get ahead" prior to leaving for Barcelona. And I'm not sure about your state and attendance laws if in public school, but in some states you can withdraw her, state you are homeschooling her (just have to show a curriculum if asked, and there are many online programs), and then re-enroll her upon returning so that the absences don't count against her. Each state has a varying degree of homeschooling guidelines, with some being very easy. (I'm also a certified principal... but tutor kiddos in multiple states online. Some of my students are budding actresses who go to LA for pilot season each Spring and miss 10-12 weeks of school.) Yes, it's hard for students/teachers when one misses, but in the big picture, living life and building those family memories is so very important.

You are much braver than me!! I don't think I have ever traveled with out a stroller when my kids were little!!

I have a few trips under my belt with them... alone! The hardest part is always going through security while juggling the little one. My four-year-old is big enough now she is really a great help. But since we are spending a few days in NYC before those couple nights in Barcelona, I'm hoping the sling allows us better ease of hopping on/off the subway and blending in with the crowds. I'm just thrilled not to be hauling the car seats along with us for this trip! Renting them with the car in Orlando.

Also I noticed the nursery CM's had some play groups during the day as well, I saw one going on in Promenade and it looked like fun for the kids and parents!

That sound great! Good to know that existed for the under-threes. :)

Hey Mandy! I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or if you already know, but you can get free stroller rentals on DCL. You do have to pay a deposit, but you get it back, or maybe it is a hold where if you don't bring it back then they charge your card or something like that. Anyway, you don't actually pay! They were really nice strollers and we used them on the ship to walk around the walking track and you can take them off at ports. They were a huge life saver for us! They were nice jogging strollers the last time we were on the Magic. I also keep meaning to tell everyone with kids going to Flounders that you can max out what you think you will use in your reservations and then when you board and throughout the cruise you can add as much more time as they have available. We did not know that on our first cruise and were so sad when we found out after it was all over! They are very flexible and I'm sure that with less kids on this cruise they will have even more availability. Hope that helps someone!

Thanks for that, Mindi & Matt! Yes, we have maxed it out so that we can have a couple hours each night plus some here and there. There were some times I tried to snag for the spa, but no nursery time available. It was weird times, like at 4:00 in the afternoon! I didn't think about the stroller for walking around deck 4. She just took her first few steps by herself two days ago, so I think we are on the verge of walking. :scared1:

I'm liking that!!

We are very fortunate that we are in a school district with year round schools. So we have between 2 1/2 and 4 weeks off, 4 different times a year. My older son is only going to miss about 3 days of school for this cruise, as he is "tracked out" from the 14th of September until the beginning of October. We also have off most of December and March and all of June. They just changed him this year to a new track (involuntarily, due to overcrowding). For us, that was bad news since all of his friends and everyone in our neighborhood are on his old track. That is why I decided to "make lemonade" and book this cruise. I had always wanted to do a Disney TA but we couldn't have done this if he was still on his old track (which is out of school most of October). Anyway, I LOVE the year round schools because we can travel off season when it is cheaper and less crowded.

Year-round schools are the way to go from an educational perspective. Less time in summer to forget everything! Besides, summer breaks were created for back in the days of farming and kiddos needed in the fields, which is mostly not the case any longer. Plus, being able to take those vacations in off-peak times make them actually affordable! Some of the homeschool kiddos I tutor say that is a reason they homeschool - so they can vacation when it is less crowded and more affordable for their families. I used to be sad our daughter missed kindergarten cutoff by three days, but now I'm super happy that we have this extra year to spend with her seeing the sights and building memories!

Can someone tell me where I can find images of the Mickey head flags for the places we will be visiting?

If you PM me your e-mail address, I'll send them to you. I downloaded them but didn't bookmark the site.

For each day,

  1. Dinner theme/menu (Rotation, Captain's Gala...)

I asked shoreside concierge what the dining rotation would be and here is the resonse.

The dining rotation as of now would be the following:
L - Lumieres'
P - Parrot Cay
A - Animators Palate
There are three rotations as listed below.
Rotation # 1 would consist of A,P,L,A,P,L,A,P,L,A and P.
Rotation # 2 would consist of L,A,P,L,A,P,L,A,P,L and A.
Rotation # 3 would consist of P,L,A,P,L,A,P,L,A,P and L.
Please keep in mind that this can change at any time.

I wish they would go to year round here. We haven't had to deal with school yet because Lorelei's only 2 but I know it will be hard when she gets there. It snows here so much that the kids end up spending a lot of time out of school in the winter and usually extend into the summer anyway. It would just make more sense IMO and make vacationing easier in the cold months ;)

That's so exciting but also reminds me I have a lot to do to get ready :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Since we've come back from WDW this is what I've heard the last few days from Lorelei. "I meet Cinderella. I meet Belle. I big hug Beast. I meet Mickey Mouse. I eat Cinderella's Castle." Obviously she's 2 so we don't have our past tense down and we get to hear the same phrases over and over again but it's nice to know we're raising our Disney fan properly. :rotfl:
