I wonder what polish they used that just chipped off like that? Do you remember? I wonder if you could bring your own polish & basecoat.....
I've heard this before about the manicure services on the ships. All of the spas on cruise ships are run by a company called Steiner, rather than the individual cruise lines.
I'm a nail tech, and it makes me crazy when people get substandard services, especially when they are charged such high prices. It makes us all look bad, like we are ripping people off! My clients usually get a week out of a traditional polish manicure, and at least two weeks with UV polish (Shellac). Having it all chip off a few hours later is ridiculous, and you should certainly go back to the salon and complain should that ever happen again.
I'm sure you could bring your own polish and basecoat to the ship's salon, but considering the prices they charge it would be shameful to pay so much if you are supplying the products. I can guarantee they won't give you a discount on the price if you bring your own.
I'll bring some odds and ends, so if anyone has a nail emergency I'd be happy to help them out! I travel with OPI polishes, nail glue and repair silk, files, base and top coats. If I felt comfortable traveling with my Shellac lamp I'd bring that too, but I don't think the bulbs would survive the journey. But I'm serious, if anyone needs a hand with a repair or a quick polish job, I'm in cabin 6071.
is this fish spa what i think it is? fish swimming around you?![]()
The St Maarten one? It was the bus part that was a little boring. But, you are sitting down in an air conditioned bus!!!I think really it was John who didn't like it over much, I didn't mind it. The butterfly farm was lovely, we both loved that, and I think the sea part would be good normally but on ours the speaker system wasn't working so we couldn't have any commentary. We had to wait for quite sometime while they tried to fix it. The 'captain' just wandered round pointing out points of interest instead. I think these kinds of trips are really good to get an overall look at places and they don't normally last too long either.
We did really like the similar one on Tortola though.
Seamour you have given me a good chuckle
I have never seen anyone post so many messages in a row
You sound really excited for this cruise

Que parla angles? (kuh PAHR-luh uhn-GLEHS) = Do you speak English?
No parlo el catala. (noh PAHR-loo uhl kuh-tuh-LAH) = I can't speak Catalan.
Spanish will work, but I read where the Catalans are very independent and proud of their distinction from the Spanish. Understandable, considering Franco's oppression of the Catalan people and language.
I just like the idea of being able to say a few words in their language. That's about all I'll be able to do. I spent two years in high school trying to learn French and never could get the hang of it!![]()
I was waiting to see if you actually got through the entire thread.
and I'm trying to find Navigators from the EBTA 2011 to find out:
Walt Disney Theatre Show
Dinner attire
Dinner theme
adult cabaret
Someone reminded us of the 10th anniversary of the September 11 bombings.
I had 3.5 yrs. of Spanish in high school and can barely remember any of it...I can still understand a bit, but not enough to communicate. My best friend in h.s. picked up everything and could speak like a native by the time we graduated; some people are just "naturals". I am definitely mono-lingual; I couldn't even master sign language!
But I do appreciate your phrases, and I will try to use them (esp. the most important one
).
Well I speak French better than I speak Spanish (of the type they speak in the Southern areas), I do think I need to know how to ask for the bill though! Had a buggar of a time getting that last time.
45 pages is not too bad! LOL!
