Take back what I said about Zazzle. They just cancelled all our shirt order as they claim we are "stealing" Disney designs, even though we made them ourselves, so we are looking into other options. Stay tuned. Will still PM the designs if needed, but Zazzle will not let you make them.

On booking, we could only do dinner at Paulo, but we did get our excursions. We will just have to try for brunch when we get on the ship.

If people are doing a group brunch on a sea day, count us in for 2.

Thanks!

Amanda

I have never had that problem with Vistapint even though their shirts are not as nice as previously indicated.

I seem to remember on past cruises that there have been problems with Disney shapes and pictures etc. Some companies will not use anything like that that might result in a law action against them. On the 2 occasions I was involved in the printed dry wipe boards we had to change the design slightly to allow for that, and I think also the logo for the last WBTA last year the person who organised the pins had to change a picture of pirate Mickey or something. Noel, am I correct there? I think they are covering themselves as I would imagine Disney is quite particular about copyright etc. It is a shame though. Perhaps another firm will do them.

Yes, we did have to change the pins over copyright issues. Only firm I have not had any issues with is Vistaprint.

Don't know what happened again, but I fixed again. Please check link.

Welcome Wagon Post

Looks great! Can we just change the wording a little now that it is "group rate" (versus private) and "in being added to the standby list of this full excursion"?

12. Mandy (MandyGirl) is organizing a Tortola Excursion of a group rate day sail on a power catamaran to Jost VanDyke with Tortola Charters. Please PM Mandy with the number in your party if you are interested in being added to the standby list of this full excursion.

Ok, so we order them again at spreadshirt.com, which is cheaper than Zazzle but a little better quality than Vista. Got a confirmation email. Will see if they cancel in a few days.

Fingers Crossed.

just got to cut a few things out then FE gifts are totally done! i know i said that before but i decided to add a few bits, but now am done! lol, famous last words :rotfl:

Luck or a straight jacket? :rotfl2:

Fingers crossed you'll get your last option to come through!

Straight jacket definitely!

Thanks, i'm not holding out much hope though.

Hi everyone,

OK, I think I'm caught up now.

I have Fairy Godmailer requests from MiddleofAmerica, Melonz, Binkytell and Justloveeeyore.

I have whiteboard request from Justloveeeyore and Pinky166 (which means I have 16 more!).

Now, for those participating in the scrapbook exchange, I have a cricut and was planning to make a some characters through paper piecings. So, if you have a favorite character, please let me know and I'll try to accomodate.

Now, I just need to figure out everything else!

Keri

Thanks again Keri.

I can;t wait to see your Cricut characters! :yay: My scrapbook exchange packages are going to be rubbish in comparison. We don't have many scrapbook suppliers in the UK, well not good one's anyway.

Can someone give me more info on this scrapbook exchange thing. I am an avid scrapbooker (admittedly slow one but love it none the less) and so would love to get with someone with ideas. I can post some of the pages I have gotten done for the EBTA from last year if anyones interested.

I am organising the list for this exchange. As Keri said there aren't really any rules, just have fun. Most people have requested no scrapbook papers due to them being hard to get home without them being all scrunched up....but other than that you can make or buy some embellishments, titles, frames, etc the subject can be anything themed around the cruise, so any of the ports, restaurant themes, pirates, formal night, or a mixture of everything etc.....

Let me know if you want to sign up or have any questions, more details are on the first page. :thumbsup2

Don't know what happened again, but I fixed again. Please check link.

Thanks Noel, it looks ok now. :thumbsup2

Well done.

I've finally finished one of the things I am making......well i've made 35 of them so hopefully that will be enough for my two groups. :) As for the other thing I want to make I have bought the supplies and am hoping to start that tomorrow, I never did retrieve the stuff I had already done off my broken laptop so I am going to start again. :headache:

Oh hun, do yourself the best favor you could ever do; stop the dieting. Any diet will fail, sooner or later. Diets all are based on "allowed" and "not allowed" and aren't lifelong plans. Which will always end up with relapsing into old habits, having huge cravings for "not allowed" and what not. Doesn't sounds very appealing, but the only thing that one can maintain is a lifelong change of what they eat, when, how much etc. Food is something so basic, don't waist any energy on diets that can't work for you for life. Ah well, I'll stop the preaching before I get beyond too annoying.

I appreciate the advice, just wish that someone had told me that when I was in my twenties, when I only 'thought' I needed to lose weight. What I really needed to do was just exercise to firm up. :headache:

I was looking through my notes on my iPhone from our med cruise and forgot to mention, for the benefit of our repeat cruisers, that Peter was the cruise director and he told me that he would still be there for the WBTA. Brent was fantastic last year, we have done a few cruises with Peter, he is brilliant too :cool1:

No Brent ... whaaaa

Karen I’ve never heard of the bread of life diet? I’ve tried so many over the years, including the cabbage soup diet, which did unmentionable things to me !

For those doing the slimming world diet I’ve done that one too and lost loads of weight. It’s a great diet to follow because it’s nice and easy, but my memory of attending the weekly weigh in is how I would go and get fish and chips for tea afterwards.:rotfl2::rotfl2: So this time I’m going to the gym and doing a food diary to try and keep myself in check.

Margaret

Bread for life advocates eating small meals every 3-4 hours so that your hunger doesn't get out of control, and make you want to eat the foods you know you shouldn't. My mother was a typical English cook of her era, every vegetable boiled to mush and every meat cooked to a crisp, as I was growing up. (She no longer cooks that way) Meals were always a chore to eat and the only saving grace for me was bread. As a teenager I told my Mum I could eat anything she gave me, so long as I could put it between two slices of bread  To this day I still can't feel totally satisfied with a meal unless some kind of bread is involved.

Wow, I just psychoanalyzed myself

I'm not sure what slimming world is but I used to do TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) and had that same habit of eating after the meeting, to make up for practically starving myself for three days before the meeting. I had to stop going so I could break myself of the habit of feast and famine.

I chose Palo for the night we're in Tortola, and have booked lots of babysitting, although I'm having constant doubts if I've used the time to my best advantage. I'm just remembering how exhausted I was on our last cruise, and I really need some downtime on this one.

Are you still interested in our reservation for Palo on the second formal night? If you're not let me know and I will cancel it.

Welcome aboard :dance3: I'd love to see your scrapbook pages :goodvibes

Was trying to do online check-in and stopped at the Onboard Airline Check-In program.

It's asking how many bags each of us have, and obviously I don't know yet. Can I put down a # now and then change this once aboard?

Disney is very protective (i.e., litigious) with their trademarks. See this http://www.snopes.com/disney/wdco/daycare.asp

Not that I'm judging - if you don't protect your trademarks you lose them and Disney has every right to protect their intellectual property. Zazzle could get sued by Disney if they incorporated one of Disney's trademark into a shirt and then sold it at a profit. And I believe that Disney could get treble damages.

What time is main seating again? (Or "late" - the second of the dining times) I booked nursery times so we can have a little dinner time together, but send our little one to the nursery partway through dinner....

The dining times on the ebta & med were 6pm & 8:30pm....even though it was listed on the KTTW cards as 5:45 & 8:15 :confused3

The Navigator & announcements reinforced the times, but it took everyone a while to figure it out...lol

...
Bev; what a shame that the bridge cam isn't an option anymore after dark. Thanks for telling us, now those counting on it can come up with a new option in time.

When doing the EBTA and med, did you happen to learn who the captain on the Magic is, at the moment? ...

So sorry, I believe it was Captain John, but my memory is failing me there...:confused3

Very pleasant, balding fellow with a bit of a dead pan report...if that helps at all!!

You will absolutely have the opportunity (necessity!) to redo it all on board! I've had as many as 3 times (online, at port, on board)!! :lmao:

Seems they don't really communicate with each other much, lol, but a good rule of thumb is to plug in a small number of bags at this point since they will charge per bag, as per your airline's policy (if you are flying First Class, they will charge anyway, so be prepared to request a refund after the cruise)!!

.

You could ship to your hotel. Noel(Birkner) did this last year.

You just read my mind. I was going to email Hotel and ask about that. I am staying at Renaissance and I thought that might be possible. Do you recall about what the cost was? I know it depends on weight and where its shipped from, but just wondered what to expect.

Lovely! We are flying first class on the way back from Orlando (we're on miles and the tickets were the same # of miles to fly first or coach - so that was a no-brainer!). AA says we get 3 bags for free in first, but it sounds like I will have to get my money back!

Perhaps Zazzle already has had some dealings with Disney's legal department. Other companies might not know......as yet!!

Noel did reply, but as it was to my post you probably flew over it!!;) She said.

"It is not cheap to ship to Barcelona. Cost me over $200 to ship 25 pounds to our hotel in Barcelona. I would check prices with UPS or Fed Ex from your location based on weight. Most hotels will take a delivery if you are checking in within a few days in my experience."

Wow, finally got caught up from page 93! Now, to answer some questions:

1. Goofyslonglostsis asked where we are staying in July when we sneak off to WDW....we're doing a split stay this time. 1 night at BW (AP rate....very cheap), 5 nights at OKW (DVC points) and then 2 nights at Universal Studios.

Keri (aka another Karen)

When will you be at WDW in July .... we are there 1st - 16th :thumbsup2

Fedex/Kinkos will also say that about "stealing" Disney designs. I wanted to print just two pages of DIS disigns for our one-year-old's birthday, and they refused to print them claiming they have been sued by Disney over it. I tried telling them I did not BUY these images as they are insinuating, but they are freeware, but they would not even print a piece of paper for me to cut out to use as cake / cupcake toppers. They basically said if it looks like a Mickey Head, they can't do any services.

And ditto on the thinness of the VistaPrint tshirts. They get the job done, especially when under $5, but most run about $15 if you want the Hanes Beefy T or similar.

What about Cafepress for T-shirts ....... although they may well have similar copyright issues with Disney images.

So sorry, I believe it was Captain John, but my memory is failing me there...:confused3

.

On our med cruise last week, it was Captain Marco, from Italy. Silver haired chap and certainly not balding, so they must have had a changeover between the end of the EBTA and us joining on 8th June.

He was a lovely chap, Italian and was never out of Palo, we joked that had they moved the bridge to the other end of the ship :rotfl2: The palo staff reckon he just loves their home cooking :lmao:

He was quite handsome and charming, he was chatting to DD on disembarking the ship for an excursion.

If they've had a recent changeover, then he may still be on for the WBTA.

He has only recently joined DCL, having worked for Carnival for 10 years

I've just been looking through my navigators from our cruise and had a quick glance at the opening hours on the back page.

The Beat Street Bar opening times are:-

Diversions 5 pm
Rockin Bar D 7 pm
Sessions 5 pm

That only leaves us with:-

Signals (cove pool bar) 10 am
Pluto's (mickey pool bar) which I presume is also 10 am
Promenade Lounge 9 am

To be honest, I have never really been past the Promenade Lounge in the daytime, especially to buy alcohol, so I didn't know if that would be an option for the afternoon pub crawl. Maybe some other repeat cruisers may be able to comment.

A few people asked me to check which films were on the Magic during our med cruise. Fantastic selection, but we kept missing some good ones due to all the long port days :sad2:

They were:-

I am Number Four
Mars needs Moms
Tangled
Tron Legacy
The Princess and the frog
Toy Story 3
Gnomeo & Juliet
Disney Nature - African Cats
Prom
POTC 4 on stranger tides
Disney's behind the scenes

Cars 2 is out on 22nd July, so that's one to look forward to :cool1:

I am hoping that they are still playing Tron Legacy & Gnomeo & Juliet on the WBTA as I really want to see those :)

While I remember, there is a new evening show in the Walt Disney Theatre called "The Art of the Story" I won't say much to spoil it, but it is musical and involves some of the Disney classic films, characters and songs. It was great :thumbsup2. Once upon a song was on again for this summer, but we missed it due to a long port day. Looking forward to seeing that again on the WBTA :lovestruc
