Oh and after reading a topic on the mainboard and being reminded again how little known this thing is; attention all that are bringing along any medications on this trip!!!!! OK, sorry for the huge and bright, but this really has to be said. Please make sure you find out what the laws and legislations are of Spain and each and all other countries where you will set foot on land with your medication, if you can legally carry said medication! You can find some countries requiring you to have paperwork on you, have the meds in the original packaging etc. etc. Some meds that are legal in your country might not be legal in any situation in other countries. This can include over the counter medication. It's too little known, but get your facts straight on this one before travelling with your meds! This can also applies to any meds you might be bringing back home, both bought/prescribed during the trip and your own medication you brought from home, exported and want to import when coming back home again.

Checks on this are not 100% and only done every once and then but you will not want to risk not having your ducks in a row when you do get checked. This is a subject that leaves very little, if any, room for "oops". It can turn real ugly fast if you do not follow the letter of the law, nevermind if you did so with good intent.
Wow. Thanks for the heads up. That is something that I would never have thought to check since I have never had to travel with medicine until this trip having recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Do you know of where you can go to find out if there will be an issue or not? Spain really being the only place to worry about since my medicine is either early morning or late night.

Welcome!! :cheer2: Our daughter turns 5 just prior to boarding, and there are several others your son's age as well!! :thumbsup2

I seem to have upset some people it was never intended : ((

 Oh no! A max of 14 in the room is a quick filler. Maybe they can renovate Palo for us and have us all. :thumbsup2 I was bummed all brunch reservations were gone before we ever hit the 75-day window and thankful for this! Maybe someone else can coordinate another group of 14? :confused3

When will you be at WDW in July .... we are there 1st - 16th :thumbsup2
We're going to be at WDW from July 2-7. We should meet up! :goodvibes

Odd question for everyone....does anyone on this thread live in Barcelona? I'm fine with the luggage allowance from here to Paris...but from Paris to Barcelona on EasyJet, I'm scared! Andrew and I have 40kg of checked and 20kg of carryon. I'm clueless as to "how much" this really is in terms of what I'm planning to pack. So I was thinking, maybe I could ship my FE items to someone in Barcelona!

Keri

What flight are you taking from CDG to Barcelona? We're taking the Easyjet 2:20 pm.

Mum of 4 say no more : )

auntlynne iv been wondering where u are all day !! It kinda esculated pretty quick after I replied to your post, so I went with it, hope you don't mind, all on the list are us new cruisers who couldn't get a palo brunch booking.

I long as we get in once for brunch I don't mind if it's a big gang or alone : ))

First I was asleep (when I posted at 4:30 am, I was still up - not getting up early; went to bed right after that), then played in the pool - the Cocker Spaniel likes to be carried around above the water - dinner - TV - planning the England trip part of this TA - finally got back to DISboards. Did happen to read in the afternoon about the blazing speed of gathering a brunch group.

You would think they were giving away gold at the brunch the way it fills up on the online booking and group arranging.

What surprises me is that people actually got the information to you so quickly - you know how many times we've had it posted that you have to PM the organizer. Maybe it finally soaked in :goodvibes - any other new activities organized might be a piece of cake.

I seem to have upset some people it was never intended : ((

That is so sad. And here you did such a good job. Took the reins by the horn and got something done. You definitely didn't step on my toes, that's for sure.

If you have problems getting the info faxed to DCL, just post that here and someone will come to your rescue, toot sweet! :goodvibes

My hubby and I would definitely be interested

I'd be interested in joining a group (and I'm not mad I missed the first one - glad that those who couldn't get in for online booking got to have first dibs).

That's 3; anybody else?

What flight are you taking from CDG to Barcelona? We're taking the Easyjet 2:20 pm.

We're on an 11ish one. I wanted to have some of the day in Barcelona as I want to see the Sagrada. How are you all getting to and from DLP to the airport?

Us too! How are you traveling to CDG?

I'm taking the TGV train from DLP station (Marne La Vallee Chessney) to CDG - ten (10) minutes travel time. The 9:04am train is $26 pp.

easyJet to Barcelona should be in Terminal 2B; there's a McDonald's there should your growing boy be hungry for American food.

Now I'm off to find out where we check in for our flights.

You could ship to your hotel. Noel(Birkner) did this last year.

It is not cheap to ship to Barcelona. Cost me over $200 to ship 25 pounds to our hotel in Barcelona. I would check prices with UPS or Fed Ex from your location based on weight. Most hotels will take a delivery if you are checking in within a few days in my experience.

You just read my mind. I was going to email Hotel and ask about that. I am staying at Renaissance and I thought that might be possible. Do you recall about what the cost was? I know it depends on weight and where its shipped from, but just wondered what to expect.

I think I would be better off paying to check an extra bag if I think I will need. Who am I kidding, I think I am already in trouble with weight and I haven't even gotten a suitcase out yet.

This year it is $168 for 25lbs and $281 for 50lbs. Just checked.

Noel, is this with Luggage Forwarders?

I looked at the rates to ship from the US to our hotel in Barca a while back. Fed Ex and UPS were just out of the question, they were so expensive. Using the postal service I think 10 lbs was around $50. That's the point where I decided I'd just suck it up and check a second bag - 50 lbs for $60 is a bargain compared to shipping.

Of course, I'll have to put up with Dennis' dirty looks as I haul all my luggage from the Aerobus to the hotel, but that's nothing compared to not having enough shoes for two weeks. Now, the fact that my carry-on will probably weigh more than Elvis might get me a lecture from him when he has to help me cram it in the overhead! But as I've said before, this is an adventure! Besides, he doesn't know any of the trip details, so if he wants to get on the right plane, get to the right hotel, get to the cruise, etc, he'll keep quiet about my luggage issues! :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Oh, and anyone who tries to grab a bag and run will no doubt incur a major injury from the weight of the thing, so I don't have to worry about that. See, there's always a bright side to things! :teeth:

Keri, could you maybe try shipping your FE stuff from Paris as soon as you get there? That might be less expensive.

Women get together dressed in pink to drink champagne or non alcoholic bubbly and chat. Pictures of the first meet are in this post and pictures from the last WBTA are in this post. Please PM (Clare)Pinky166 to add you name to the list.

10. If you would like to join in the Scrapbooking Exchange, please PM Clare (Pinky166) with your name and room number. The idea is to give your fellow exchangers some scrapbooking embellishments for use in your scrapbooks after you return home! For more info check this post.

15. Karen (Pixie Dust For Me!)is organizing stateroom tours, but we can't do it without you! PM me with your stateroom assignment and room number and we will tour as many staterooms as possible. It would be great to get one in every category!

Time: TBD
Where: You will be given a list of participating stateroom numbers and categories the day after we embark (to account for all those upgrades, don't you know )
Refreshments: Optional per discretion of stateroom participant.

16. If you want a designed DIS tee shirt for this cruise, follow the instruction in this post. DIS Tee shirt

17. Cliffy 97 (Dan and Bruce) are organizing a typical English pub crawl on Friday, September 16 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM. We can then restart after dinner.
Those who were interested will in one of the bars for ( Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.
As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoly pub crawl in London.

Tee Shirt Order Site
More details on the pub crawl here: Pub Crawl

If you are located outside of the USA and want a t-shirt, please PM Chris&Jeremy and he will send you the artwork so you can have your own shirt printed locally.

18. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

19. If you are interested in joining us for a farewell lunch, contact Claire (Pinky166) to be added to the list.
Come & join us for a farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day. Thursday 22nd Sept at 12.15pm, we are not sure which of the three rotational restaurants will be open on that day, should there be more than one open I have put them in order of preference - 1st Lumiere's, 2nd Parrot Cay or 3rd Animator's Palate.
Please make sure you check your Navigator that morning to see which restaurant is open for lunch as I won't be able to tell you in advance.
Please PM me if you'd like to join us and I will add you to the list, then once onboard notify the restaurant so they can seat us together at some large tables.

20. Hard Rock Cafe Meet. Some of us are hoping to meet up for drinks/a meal the evening of Friday 9th September at 6:30 PM at the Hard Rock Cafe on Placa Catalunya and is being organized by Sarah (Totally Angelic). Please send her a PM if you want to join in the fun!

21. Jane (We'reAliens) is organizing a Book Exchange. The idea is that a large bag will be hung on handrail outside stateroom 7120 available for anyone to borrow and, of course, donate books.

22. Jill (TxMermaid1) is organizing a dive in Tortola. Here is the info on the dive trip for Tortola Group leader lead by Jill Bouska, PADI Master Scuba Diver Instructor. Tortola Dive

Us too! How are you traveling to CDG?

more info:

VEA Shuttle for DLP to CDG (I think this is the official shuttle - and a bus)
first shuttle 8:30 am
45-60 minutes
17 euro adult/13 euro child

If on TGV train:
we arrive at Terminal 2 - level 1 - take escalator to level 4
catch N1 shuttle bus (leaves every 8-10 min) - 3 minute ride

TGV station stop at "Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV". We traveled from DLP to Brussels on the same train last fall; easy to use near DLP and such a quick trip to the airport.

As I was reading this, I realized I would also be coming in to CDG from London and need to get the CDG-DLP TGV info written down, also.

Next time you see this door Claire ... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

UPDATE - UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AT BOOKING THE LADIES HIGH TEA.

I am very sorry to disappoint everyone but it has been impossible to book, even trying to book it through a concierge guest has not worked. :sad2:

Claire, that's such a shame, I know how hard you've tried too

A few people asked me to check which films were on the Magic during our med cruise. Fantastic selection, but we kept missing some good ones due to all the long port days :sad2:

They were:-

I am Number Four
Mars needs Moms
Tangled
Tron Legacy
The Princess and the frog
Toy Story 3
Gnomeo & Juliet
Disney Nature - African Cats
Prom
POTC 4 on stranger tides
Disney's behind the scenes

Cars 2 is out on 22nd July, so that's one to look forward to :cool1:

I am hoping that they are still playing Tron Legacy & Gnomeo & Juliet on the WBTA as I really want to see those :)

While I remember, there is a new evening show in the Walt Disney Theatre called "The Art of the Story" I won't say much to spoil it, but it is musical and involves some of the Disney classic films, characters and songs. It was great :thumbsup2. Once upon a song was on again for this summer, but we missed it due to a long port day. Looking forward to seeing that again on the WBTA :lovestruc

Great to see Tangled and Pirates 4 .... we have deliberately avoided Tangled as we want to see if on the ship. And Pirates 4, well I am not going to becomplaining about spending some more time with Capt Jack pirate:
Hope they show the Art of the Story on our cruise too as I love that sort of thing, and I really loved Once Upon a Song last time too.

Here's one of our photos with the beautiful view from the window table at high tea :)

Lovely photo of you both :thumbsup2

We're going to be at WDW from July 2-7. We should meet up! :goodvibes

We are also hoping to meet up with Karen ... ( Rikersmom ) so it would be good if we could co-ordinate something. We will probably be visiting friends out of town on 3rd July.
