That reminds me .... I wonder if anyone will spot the infamous "naked man of Barcelona" in September .... when we were there last year I think it was too rainy for him to show his face ... and everything else for that matter.

Aren't there some sort of cooking classes held aboard the ship? I would love to take part in these!

Yeah these Were great fun on last years WBTA, as mentioned these were hosted by the executive chef of Animal Kingdom, he demonstrated 3 different dishes over a 3 day period and then you all got to taste a sample, with FREE wine paring, and got a recipe card to take home. Hope they do it again this year.

Cool, thanks. I'll keep an eye out for it. :thumbsup2

Are you doing the farewell lunch or was you just asking about which restaurant? Let me know if you want to be added to the list. :)

Pinky - Please count Bruce and I in:-)

Farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day?????

Are people still interested in this? I heard it mentioned once a long time ago but nothing since?

If people want to do this, then let me know names & numbers and i'll keep a list & add it to my post on the first page. :thumbsup2

YES YES YES

I would love to do this again this year, it was a great chance to get together as a big group, we simply turned up at a selected time to Parrot Cay where we had 8 or 9 tables in one corner, I think it was all organised at the restaurant on the day.

We had our prize giving for best decorated door amongst other things....

Great chance to get lots of photos with our new DIS friends

Does anyone know the actual width of the "fish" on which the fish extender hangs? Also, how about the section of wall it is on (in other words, how wide could something be before it "sticks out" into the hallway)?

For those of you who were asking... I am working on putting together SCUBA DIVING EXCURSIONS for Tortola and St Maarten's.... I will let you know when I have it secured.... PM me if you have an interest in this. Once again.. I am a PADI scuba instructor with over 15 yrs of teaching experience. so you will be in good hands.

I'm sure this would be great fun - count us in!

Noel a few questions about the west tour, does that still include Monte and taboggans. Do we have to eat in the restaurant on the tour?

I was planning to keep Monte and toboggans. You should try to eat in the restaurant as it usually is an extremely good value for the money. The trip is on a tight schedule so it doesn't really allow for eating elsewhere.

Thanks Noel. Yes, the details might help! :lmao: Here is the info i'm going to post on the first page....

Come & join us for a farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day. Thursday 22nd Sept at 12.15pm, we are not sure which of the three rotational restaurants will be open on that day, should there be more than one open I have put them in order of preference - 1st Lumiere's, 2nd Parrot Cay or 3rd Animator's Palate.

Please make sure you check your Navigator that morning to see which restaurant is open for lunch as I won't be able to tell you in advance.

Please PM me if you'd like to join us and I will add you to the list, then once onboard notify the restaurant so they can seat us together at some large tables.

Added. :thumbsup2

Thank you. I have added to the Welcome Wagon post.

Hi all,
My wife and I were able to secure a great deal on the Transatlantic and as of today are paid in full and along with our 2 sons (8,4) are looking forward to this cruise. This is much more overwhelming than the last cruise we went on, but we are looking forward to it.

Is it to late to sign up for some of the events?

Hi:

Apologies if I have'nt been posting as much as I would like to, but I have following as best I can and am thankful to all for all the tips that have been put forward :cheer2:

I was not aware that there WAS a famous naked man in Barca but now that you bring it up :dance3: I was walking through the streets with my DW and DD last Aug when we saw this naked man stroll by - I guess it is unlikely there are 2. :littleangel:

My DD was 11 and I was waiting for whatever "comments" would be forthcoming but none came so we rambled on regardless pirate:

Is there any particular story behind him ??

Refreshments: Optional per discretion of stateroom participant.

16. If you want a designed DIS tee shirt for this cruise, follow the instruction in this post. DIS Tee shirt

17. Cliffy 97 (Dan and Bruce) are organizing a typical English pub crawl with a date TBD. Info so far is as follows:
On a sea day those who were interested would meet in one of the bars for ( Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.

As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoly pub crawl in London.

Perhaps we can make tshirts up too.

Stay tuned for more details.

17. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

18. If you are interested in joining us for a farewell lunch, contact Claire (Pinky166) to be added to the list.

Great Job:thumbsup2

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Now that is scary ..... more like a bush tucker trial than anything else. I wouldn't want fish nibbling at my nether-regions !!!!
