Wow, what a lot of posts to read since yesterday evening!
I seem to be getting my miracle? Just got the official green light for the operation! Should get it within 4 weeks apparently, but am not holding my breath. They've cancelled way too many appointments so far. I think one hasn't been moved or cancelled, so we decided to assume the date will get moved at least once. Fingers crossed though it gets done a.s.a.p. and the recovery will be one of perfection. If that all comes together, it's cruising I go with you guys. At least this is one big step closer to stepping aboard the Magic in 95 days.
Fingers crossed that the date doesn't get changed and that all goes well, Jacqueline
Hi There,
I'm Paul and will be travelling with my wife Helen and our daughter Grace (2) on the WBTA.
This will be our 1st cruise and we are thouroughly looking forward to it.
Thanks Goofieslonglostsis for the info on dolphin discovery in Tortola. That looks great and something Grace would love to do.
Can anyone confirm if this is the one that
DCL uses for their excursion and if so do they book the places up making it impossible to book the trip independently?
Paul, Helen & Grace

onboard Paul, Helen and Grace ; wow, what a great itinerary to have as your first cruise!
We are Lorraine and Paul and this is our 4th
Disney cruise, but the first without either of our kids in tow.
I think there are quite a few Pauls on the cruise now, but not as many as the number of Karens
I don't have any knowledge on the dolphin excursion, but at some of the other ports on Disney's itineraries, some operators will only accept bookings made directly through cruise lines and resort hotels. Perhaps it's due to the contracts they have

.
Aren't there some sort of cooking classes
held aboard the ship? I would love to take part in these!
They are more you watch the chefs cook, but I think they are very popular. I believe you get to taste the dishes too.
We went to one of these on the 7 night western caribbean last year. The chef was from one of the restaurants at MGM studios (or have they changed the name now?) and in addition to demonstrating one of their signature dishes, he gave some insights on how the restaurants there were set up and run. We really enjoyed it
Farewell DIS lunch on
the last sea day?????
Are people still interested in this? I heard it mentioned once a long time ago but nothing since?
If people want to do this, then let me know names & numbers and i'll keep a list & add it to my post on the first page.
Hi Claire, please add Paul and myself to the list. Thanks!

:
Noel, I may be imagining things, but wasn't there a field on the WBTA web site to check off if you were planning on attending the DIS lunch on the last sea day?
Is it allowed to brag a little?
As some of you might remember I signed up for the wine and dine ½
marathon on October 1th. so I been training for a quite some time now.
I signed myself up for some women races to stay motivated, and have done 2 10 k's so fare (and a 5 k). I'm not a fast runner so both times I finished in 1.07.something, but today I did my third and finished in 59.57
That is awesome; well done !
Husband and I ran the Disney World 1/2 marathon in 2010. Let me begin by saying....running and I don't get along at all! Walking....yes.....running...NO!

My DH was able to run the whole thing! So proud of him. I, on the other
hand, had been training for over a year and 6 months before the race, I had developed tendonitis in my heel so bad I had to wear one of those lovely
"orthopedic looking" black boots for 2 months!!! Any way, that threw a kink in my training so I was only able to run a total of 8 miles and had to walk 5 miles. BUT when I finished and got my medal, I felt like I was walking on
cloud nine
What a great achievement for both of you!

I can't run at all
"My name is Claire and I am a shopaholic"

: Too funny! By coincidence, I'm currently reading "Mini Shopaholic"
Did you book them once you were onboard? If so
was that at guest services?
its an open thing, no need to book, times will be in the navigators. its something along the lines of "art of entertaining"
We just turned up to the cooking demo we went to
Hi all,
My wife and I were able to secure a great deal on the Transatlantic and as of today are paid in full and along with our 2 sons (8,4) are looking forward
to this cruise. This is much more overwhelming than the last cruise we went on, but we are looking forward to it.
Is it to late to sign up for some of the events?

Welcome to the thread! Look forward to meeting you in September.
