BTW.. someone asked about manicures on board... I had one at a price of $50. this was just a plain manicure... no fake nails etc. I will never waste my $$ again for this. The polish was half off by dinner time and I had to remove the rest and repaint my own nails. That was the biggest waste of money I ever spent on board..... I also heard others had the same issues....

I had the same issues so will never spend that kind of money on an ineffective manicure.

OMG...7 pages since I went to bed! Thank goodness there's nothing good on tv tonight. :surfweb:
I seem to be getting my miracle? Just got the official green light for the operation! Should get it within 4 weeks apparently, but am not holding my breath. If that all comes together, it's cruising I go with you guys. At least this is one big step closer to stepping aboard the Magic in 95 days.

I'm sure we are all thinking nothing but positive thoughts that you'll be onboard and enjoying a fabulous recovery :cheer2:.

Farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day?????

Are people still interested in this? I heard it mentioned once a long time ago but nothing since?

If people want to do this, then let me know names & numbers and i'll keep a list & add it to my post on the first page. :thumbsup2

Absolutely; we'll be there, too (Pat, Larry, Jess, Grandma Pat, and Anna)

Hopefully, anyone involved in SM will plan to attend, to "reveal" gift-ers and gift-ees. Great chance to meet and say thanks  (unless you really hate your gift...then just smile and say hello :goodvibes...no harm done!)

Is it allowed to brag a little?

I'm not a fast runner so both times I finished in 1.07.something, but today I did my third and finished in 59.57:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I'm so proved of myself:banana:

Brag away. You've earned it! I'm not sure I can run to the corner :guilty:!

This is what happens with a fish pedicure :)

NO. JUST. NO.

the one in southend has got a fully body tank :scared:

NO. JUST. NO.

Now I'm just squirming in my chair thinking about it. I don't even like to go in the ocean anymore. It's a pool where I can see what's near my feet or nothing! Too many trips to aquariums, I suppose....

I must admit I was very interested in the "creatures of the deep" as we sailed in the middle of the Atlantic last year; I would have loved some type of presentation on ocean life while onboard. Maybe I'll ask.....

:welcome::cheer2::hippie: to all the new cruisers...too much space to quote all, but you're all very WELCOME :woohoo:.

Hi all,
My wife and I were able to secure a great deal on the Transatlantic and as of today are paid in full and along with our 2 sons (8,4) are looking forward to this cruise. This is much more overwhelming than the last cruise we went on, but we are looking forward to it.

Is it to late to sign up for some of the events?

Welcome aboard! I am traveling with my 2 sons 7 and 4.

Wow, what a lot of posts to read since yesterday evening! :)

I seem to be getting my miracle? Just got the official green light for the operation! Should get it within 4 weeks apparently, but am not holding my breath. They've cancelled way too many appointments so far. I think one hasn't been moved or cancelled, so we decided to assume the date will get moved at least once. Fingers crossed though it gets done a.s.a.p. and the recovery will be one of perfection. If that all comes together, it's cruising I go with you guys. At least this is one big step closer to stepping aboard the Magic in 95 days.

Fingers crossed that the date doesn't get changed and that all goes well, Jacqueline :wizard:

Hi There,

I'm Paul and will be travelling with my wife Helen and our daughter Grace (2) on the WBTA.

This will be our 1st cruise and we are thouroughly looking forward to it.

Thanks Goofieslonglostsis for the info on dolphin discovery in Tortola. That looks great and something Grace would love to do.
Can anyone confirm if this is the one that DCL uses for their excursion and if so do they book the places up making it impossible to book the trip independently?

Paul, Helen & Grace

:welcome: onboard Paul, Helen and Grace ; wow, what a great itinerary to have as your first cruise!

We are Lorraine and Paul and this is our 4th Disney cruise, but the first without either of our kids in tow.

I think there are quite a few Pauls on the cruise now, but not as many as the number of Karens ;)

I don't have any knowledge on the dolphin excursion, but at some of the other ports on Disney's itineraries, some operators will only accept bookings made directly through cruise lines and resort hotels. Perhaps it's due to the contracts they have :confused3.

Aren't there some sort of cooking classes
held aboard the ship? I would love to take part in these!

They are more you watch the chefs cook, but I think they are very popular. I believe you get to taste the dishes too.

We went to one of these on the 7 night western caribbean last year. The chef was from one of the restaurants at MGM studios (or have they changed the name now?) and in addition to demonstrating one of their signature dishes, he gave some insights on how the restaurants there were set up and run. We really enjoyed it :thumbsup2

Farewell DIS lunch on
the last sea day?????

Hi Claire, please add Paul and myself to the list. Thanks! :goodvibes:

Noel, I may be imagining things, but wasn't there a field on the WBTA web site to check off if you were planning on attending the DIS lunch on the last sea day?:confused3

Is it allowed to brag a little?

As some of you might remember I signed up for the wine and dine ½
marathon on October 1th. so I been training for a quite some time now.

I signed myself up for some women races to stay motivated, and have done 2 10 k's so fare (and a 5 k). I'm not a fast runner so both times I finished in 1.07.something, but today I did my third and finished in 59.57

That is awesome; well done ! :thumbsup2

Husband and I ran the Disney World 1/2 marathon in 2010. Let me begin by saying....running and I don't get along at all! Walking....yes.....running...NO! ;) My DH was able to run the whole thing! So proud of him. I, on the other
hand, had been training for over a year and 6 months before the race, I had developed tendonitis in my heel so bad I had to wear one of those lovely
"orthopedic looking" black boots for 2 months!!! Any way, that threw a kink in my training so I was only able to run a total of 8 miles and had to walk 5 miles. BUT when I finished and got my medal, I felt like I was walking on
cloud nine :cloud9:

What a great achievement for both of you! :cool1: I can't run at all :worship:

"My name is Claire and I am a shopaholic"
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:: Too funny! By coincidence, I'm currently reading "Mini Shopaholic" ;)

Did you book them once you were onboard? If so
was that at guest services?

its an open thing, no need to book, times will be in the navigators. its something along the lines of "art of entertaining"
We just turned up to the cooking demo we went to :thumbsup2

Yes, there is a field for people to sign up. I will forward on all the names of those who sign up to crosscheck with the organizers as we get closer to the cruise.

Welcome aboard! :thumbsup2 We are traveling with our two daughters (ages 5 and 1). Many events still have spots available. I know our Tortola excursion has a waitlist though due to capacity of the catamarans.

Please go ahead and count us in! We will have four total.

For those of you who were asking... I am working on putting together SCUBA DIVING EXCURSIONS for Tortola and St Maarten's.... I will let you know when I have it secured.... PM me if you have an interest in this. Once again.. I am a PADI scuba instructor with over 15 yrs of teaching experience. so you will be in good hands.

Okay... after further discussion... Curt will pass on getting certified for now. He only wants to dive if I go with him, and I'm a 'fraidy cat with the blood pressure issues I had last year. But thanks for your offer, and thanks for putting a DIS excursion together, Jill!! :thumbsup2

That reminds me .... I wonder if anyone will spot the infamous "naked man of Barcelona" in September .... when we were there last year I think it was too rainy for him to show his face ... and everything else for that matter.

:scared1: Never heard of him before!! :rotfl2:

Pinky - Please count Bruce and I in:-)

Added. :thumbsup2

YES YES YES

I would love to do this again this year, it was a great chance to get together as a big group, we simply turned up at a selected time to Parrot Cay where we had 8 or 9 tables in one corner, I think it was all organised at the restaurant on the day.

We had our prize giving for best decorated door amongst other things....

Great chance to get lots of photos with our new DIS friends

SW

I've added you & I assumed Abby will come too? :thumbsup2

I'm sure this would be great fun - count us in!

Added. :thumbsup2

Thank you. I have added to the Welcome Wagon post.

Thanks Noel. :goodvibes

Hi:

Apologies if I have'nt been posting as much as I would like to, but I have following as best I can and am thankful to all for all the tips that have been put forward :cheer2:

I was not aware that there WAS a famous naked man in Barca but now that you bring it up :dance3: I was walking through the streets with my DW and DD last Aug when we saw this naked man stroll by - I guess it is unlikely there are 2. :littleangel:

My DD was 11 and I was waiting for whatever "comments" would be forthcoming but none came so we rambled on regardless pirate:

Is there any particular story behind him ??

Michael & the Motley Crew

I don't know if there is a story, but a few of my friends have seen him when visiting Barcelona. He also pops up on Youtube and there is a related FB page .. "I have seen the naked man of Barcelona" or something like that :confused3 Apparently he "wears" tatooed shorts :rotfl2: and is often seen strolling along La Ramblas.

Home tonight from our 7-night Alaskan cruise on the Wonder; read 30+ pages and then found out Part 4 is already to this page; I'm putting off reading until tomorrow.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes - Tracy Arm cruising was a great way to spend a special day. The scenery in Alaska is beautiful. Best cruise ever - mainly due to the scenery and the abundance of port excursion choices.

Welcome back, Lynne!! Tracy Arm is fantastic, isn't it!?! When we did that cruise, we were at first disappointed it was not Glacier Bay, but after that day in Tracy Arm, WOW. Just incredible. So glad you had a fantastic cruise!!! :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone, welcome to all the newcomers. Has anyone heard if Ducky Williams will be on our cruise? Tried to look up a schedule it used to be posted on the disney cruise website but nothing. Thanks Cindy

Someone who was on the EBTA where Ducky was onboard said he isn't going to be on our cruise. Very sad. Perhaps we should have an email campaign!
