Have you just got the cruise booked through Virgin? If so then i suggest cancelling it & booking direct with DCL. If you've got flights too then you're probably stuck with it at the price you bought it at. :sad2:

I booked flights with Virgin too. :rolleyes1

I have learned my lesson for next time and told Virgin that too ;)

I guess if we have normal hotels and flights booked with something like Virgin we don't go asking for a reduction in the hotel room cost every time we see it cheaper. Gosh they would be busy if that was allowed!!!

Sometimes we just have to settle our minds and continue enjoying and looking forward. I haven't changed our booking since we booked as I have a nice stateroom chosen, so am prepared to stay with what is probably a more expensive room now. I just try not to think of any money I might save!

i'm all swapped over to the new price now - saved me £32, not a lot but every bit helps.

I see what you're saying although it doesn't seem fair to me that other TA's will apply the discount. In this current financial climate £76 is quite a lot of money to me

i had serious problems with virgin before so i havent used them since. they're absolutely fine if you book a package and dont need to change anything, but they're a nightmare if you need to change something.

we have also booked our cruise with virgin as it includes the flight home, after all the problems we had with them when the code came out we are not even going to bother asking this time, dont think i would book with them again though, but saying that they have a good deal with the disney cruise to san fransico next year lol,

Oh I so understand and convert it to $'s and it seems much more for spends for this cruise!! It seems our big travel agents are a bit different to ones like Dreams Unlimited etc. At least you tried!!

I agree, we stopped using them about 6 years ago. I now book everything seperately and have saved so much by doing so. :thumbsup2

I just got off the phone from DCL & saved £46, which i've spent by loading some more $$$'s on to my Fairfx card.....aka my cocktail fund! :woohoo:

i've not used them since they properly messed up my wedding 6 years ago. i book everything separately now :)

it looks amazing, virgin include flights to los angeles and 3 nights in disneyland with 2 days tickets to the parks and then the cruise, not sure if i could do the flights though as its so long lol, did anyone else see the sad news about the british tour guide killed in st maarten, i read it in the daily mail this morning, she had lived there 12 years after visiting the island when she worked on a cruise ship, they have arrested her flat mate, very sad, susie

Glad I helped you Ladies save a few more £'s

The free number is on the homepage of the DCL website its: 0800 028 3179
That's the one I use.

I got my email confirmation that all has gone through at the reduced price and we still have the same cabin so very happy here.

Thanks for posting that Michelle, it's the same number as I have saved in my phone :thumbsup2

I've emailed my TA. I ran a search this morning and found that there are some oceanview rooms (with restrictions) available for less than we got our inside for. If we can go with this, it would be great :)

But now... I'm contemplating making the jump from an inside to a verandah as a surprise for my husband... does this sound nuts? They also have some of the restriction verandahs available... It would be about £600 more than we paid originally for an inside. The only reason I'm considering it is that it would give us a quiet space away from the two kids at night. It does seem like alot of money... I don't know whether or not it will be worth it?

Help?

I would definitely jump to a verandah :woohoo: As you say, especially when you can both sit out on the verandah and not disturb the kids at night. We've always had inside staterooms, but would love a verandah :cloud9:

DH was looking at the prices last night for a guaranteed verandah for us, but it was coming out at an extra £800 :sad1: don't think that will be happening!

We always book separately too now as we have had problems with virgin before, which I won't go into, but ended up getting lawyers letters sent to them  but they did pay up eventually. That said, we are still flying home with them free on airmiles after the WBTA.

I think we are very lucky that we have the opportunity with a direct DCL booking to be able to re-price, not a lot of companies would entertain it

Susie...I remember the saga you went through with Virgin so that tale alone tells me to leave well alone :scared1:

Sometimes Virgin does make nice mistakes though...They price matched the cruise at the OGT rate so that saved me £500 and also means I already have my room number, deck etc and I didn't have to pay full amount up front. ;)

And I also changed my flight to BCN which they told me would cost £120 and it doesn't appear to be invoiced :wizard:

So really I don't have anything to complain about :rotfl2:

I didn't see any veranda stateroom available  I will have to have another look as that might be worth upgrading....if Virgin allows that :confused3

If it means more money for them then they probably will!!:lmao:

Can anyone tell me what time they arrived at the Orlando airport from the port when they took a Disney transfer?

We have a 1230 flight out on the 24th and I am debating a rental car or the DCL transfer--which would be faster.

Does DCL check luggage for you if you go with the transfer?

Thanks!

Fontabel

Yes about £800 more, I'll stay where I am thank you very much :rotfl2:

You might also be someone who isn't in their room that much to appreciate a verandah. We have friends who are hardly in their room, basically just sleep, shower and change there so they never bother with one. They would rather have another cruise. Also of course there is no saying the weather will be as nice as last year(though we all hope so!!!;)).

If it is a bit rough we're deck 1 mid ship which is the best place to be so I've been told. But I've been praying to the sunshine Gods for some good weather :worship: :lmao:

That's what we are like, hence why we are not upgrading. We are never in our cabin. As you say, it's more saved towards another cruise :)

We used deck 10 as our balcony last year to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and evenings and that was free :rotfl:

This is the way I think about it .... to upgrade to a verandah would cost us £800, which is almost the cost of another cruise. We will also be spending a lot of time on the Deck 10 balcony. :woohoo:
