Cadbury Mini Eggs are the BEST, my fav Easter treat. The bunny always leaves me some. I just found a small bag from last year and ate them. Yummy. :woohoo:

You need to break in those new sandals before the cruise. I made a HUGE mistake of bringing brand new shoes and vacation. Lets just say blisters need a week to heal. Never again. :headache:

ouch!

mini eggs are my downfall. i can open a pack and eat the whole thing in about five minutes. and still want some more afterwards.....

Oh by the way. Happy Easter on Sunday to those in the U.S. and Happy Easter Monday to all those in the U.K. :goodvibes:goodvibes

First the good news, Mum is 100% OK, the stay in the hospital has made her realise that at 82 she needs to takes things easy.

Cruise and flights have been paid for in full, yay :yay: for the aussie dollar - exchange rate is in our favour for a change, which is just as well as I have just found that Qantas are going to be putting the their fares up because of the record oil prices.

Boardwalk has been reserved for the 10 days we are staying at WDW after the cruise, have managed to get a garden view 1 bedroom villa. So if you have any tips or room numbers for our stay all will be appreciated.

Glad your Mum is okay Burnice :)

:cool1: we are staying at the Boardwalk too, just for one night though :thumbsup2

Sounds like Rachel likes one of the pairs I got.....

Birkis-1.jpg

That's the ones !! Great minds think alike !!! :thumbsup2

Great dresses - the black from Monsoon will be great for formal. And you've got DISboard limegreen - maybe we should great lime green lanyards to match. Congrats on being a size 8 - perhaps you have been smaller, but so many of us would be ecstatic to be that size!

I didn't know the official colour was limegreen :cool1:

Lynne, sorry to mislead on my dress size :sad2: My auction had a really bad picture, so I stole a link to another one the same which had good pics. I am usually a US size 10, but have progressed to a US size 12, so need to drop a dress size again to fit into my summer clothes :rolleyes1 You must be thinking I was mad saying I was a size 8 and needed to go on a diet :lmao:

You can never have too many shoes.

We'll all be on the Budget bus together

Definitely :rotfl::rotfl:

On last year's WBTA, they were full size coaches doing drop offs at the various car rentals, rather than shuttles :thumbsup2

SOOOOOOOO excited, my sister is now joining us on the cruise. She is a blast to travel with. I love my sister so much, she is the best. We had so much fun on the WBPC in 2008, everyone recognized her the rest of the cruise after she was hypnotized and played Hanna Montana. I never laughed that hard in my life. I have pm'd everyone adding her to the Champange Girls meet, Palo High Tea, the Madira Tour, pins, lanyards and t-shirts, secret mickey. I was so excited before, but now I am extra excited.

:woohoo::woohoo::yay:

Oh by the way. Happy Easter on Sunday to those in the U.S. and Happy Easter Monday to all those in the U.K. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Happy Easter to you and your family too Sue :)

Mary, you did good with the dresses. :thumbsup2

I'm not a huge baker, but I have visited D&G Occasions (http://dandgoccasions.com/) a couple of times. Not sure how their prices stand up to anyone else's, but they have an unbelievable selection--who knew you could make cakes in so many sizes and shapes?!?

Thanks, I'll check it out. Already am drooling after just seeing the homepage. :lmao:

Try Michaels http://www.michaels.com/Bakeware/departments-bakeware,default,sc.html they have some great prices on Wilton products and a fairly wide selection. This is for the Orlando stores.

Thanks, I'll also check them out! :thumbsup2

Burnice, good to hear your mom is back on track and taking it a bit slower. She's old enough to have deserved the time to take and smell the roses.

Oh by the way. Happy Easter on Sunday to those in the U.S. and Happy Easter Monday to all those in the U.K. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Dito! And if somebody has a difficult time sticking to only one days eating nice things; just celebrate it the Dutch way. We've got Easter sunday AND Easter monday! Both are official holidays. And then today is ash-thursday, tomorrow good friday, next saterday is Queens Day (a HUGE national party for anyone aged 1 to 101, basically), wednesday after that will be Remembering The Dead and that thursday is Liberation Day. Both QD and LD are official holidays and RTD is one every 5 years. Can you imagine how many days off of school the children have around here this time of year?! Obviously nobody can ever say we don't know how to party or get our share of national holidays.:rolleyes1:dance3:

Would like to know if anyone has bought/used an inexpensive waterproof camera that they would recommend? I've tried the disposable ones and can't say I'm impressed with them at all. I'd like to have a dependable one for when we go snorkling. I do scrapbooking so I would like the pictures to come out without the blurriness that the disposables can make.

Would appreciate any recommendations!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

:scared1::scared1::scared1:After watching the news, I hope I never have the misfortune to leave a ship by medical evacuation. That poor woman dropped into icy seas during a medical evac and they couldn’t rescue her for eight minutes. I just hope she survives; she’s now in intensive care :sad2::sad2::sad2:

wow, that is a lot of official holidays. I thought it was bad in the U.S. Although there is always a good excuse to overeat. I really need to stop before I progress into a 14. Been there, done that, not going back. 12 is the highest I go. I started getting my butt back on my bike and DH and I started taking walks at night, it he gets home at a decent hour. gotta look good for Mickey. :rotfl::rotfl:

I am so excited too, but I am not rushing summer. Winter was so brutal here in New Jersey that I am just enjoying no snow for a little while. 65 felt like a heat wave yesterday. We have been having so much rain here. I feel like calling Noah and collecting animals 2 x 2. :rotfl2:

Just bought my tickets for African Cats for tomorrow. Can't wait, Disney and Big Cats, what a great combo.:banana:

thats really wierd that you just posted that deb, i've just read this weeks passporter newsletter and pretty much the exact same question was on it!

have you got a small compact camera that you use? if you do, i recommend a dicapac (http://www.dicapac.com/) - i've got one for my camera and it works really well. its basically a waterproof plastic pouch that you put your normal camera in and it keeps it dry to a depth of 5 metres. it'd be ideal for snorkelling, and that way you dont have to spend loads of money buying a new camera

we normally have 8 a year, but with the royal wedding coming up, there's 3 bank holidays in the next week. tomorrow is one, monday is one and next friday is one too. but i still have to work :(

I am so excited too, but I am not rushing summer.

same here, as much as i want to go on this cruise NOW, i really do want to enjoy summer first!

Well that's me finished my cruise clothes shopping, at last :woohoo:

I hit the fantastic Marks and Spencer 50% off dress sale and just won a formal night gown on eBay at a fab price :cool1:

DH will be relieved it's over and so will his wallet :lmao::lmao:

Good for you! I haven't even started thinking about shopping for this cruise. :rolleyes1

A question for those on here that like to bake (or shop  ); as some might know I've been seriously infected with a baking and candy/chocolate making addiction. I've already found that many products are (a lot) cheaper in the US, where as others aren't avail. in our corner of the world. So I'm going to do some nice shopping to extend my material while at WDW. But; what are good places to shop for baking materials? Think about the "hardware" like pans, cutters, decorators etc. but also about the ingredients like flavoring oils etc. I've got a few items of Wilton I'm eyeing and by then I'll want to fill up my Lorann oils supplies again. I know I can order stuff online and at the moment I use Ebay for some essentials I can't wait for, but in september I would just really love to shop IRL. Browse, look at the things IRL, feel them, real shopping so to say. ;) Any stores I should definately hit? Any tips for those hidden special gems shops, products or what nots?

(ps; on Ebay there are a couple of toooo cute Mickeyhead mini cupcake pans being sold. Just used them earlier this week and I sweat; mickey cupcakes do taste better than the regular ones  )

I think cupcakes of any kind taste wonderful!
My favorite store to shop for baking items (and any other cooking thing) is Sur La Table. But I did a search and it appears that there are no stores in Orlando (very odd!) - you'd have to go to the West coast of FL or the East coast of FL to find them.
However, I did find that at the Premium Outlets in Orlando (on International Drive, right off the highway) there is a Calphalon Kitchen Outlet, a Le Creuset outlet and a Le Gourmet Chef (they carry Wilton) outlet. I'll bet you can get everything you want between those 3 outets and for WAY less than what you'd pay in the regular store.

Liz- We were right on the riverwalk across the street from the convention center. I loved it. The weather was great compared to all the rain we get here in March and April. We saw the Alamo and watched an IMAX movie. Mostly I went to courses. We also went to a restaurant called Dough that was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Never eaten at Dough, was it good? I can picture the exact location of your hotel. Doesn't the Alamo seems small in real life? I always felt like it should be bigger but compared to the neighboring buildings, it is tiny. The Riverwalk is such a nice place to be, I need to get me a convention there lol!

My diet is a bit slow to start, mainly as I have been a bit under the weather this week with a head cold which then gave me a few chest problems and generally felt really unwell, so it's difficult to do any exercise or focus on eating well. I haven't put any weight on in the past month though, so at least I am starting from the same point. I would love to lose a stone before WDW in July, so as soon as I feel better I will be exercising a lot more.

We have colds at our house too. :guilty: I work from home so I know exactly where I caught it (and subsequently gave it to husband.) I volunteered as a character for a charity party that was Pirates & Princess themed, they asked me if I would dress up as Tinkerbell. Its a very good cause (Safe Place & Rape Crisis Center) so I did it and got to meet lots of children.....but I think one of those little kiddies gave me this yucky cough.

Boardwalk has been reserved for the 10 days we are staying at WDW after the cruise, have managed to get a garden view 1 bedroom villa. So if you have any tips or room numbers for our stay all will be appreciated.

Although I have been on the Magic four times I have never done any of the tours on board, thought this would something that my folks would be interested in, so how do I go about finding out what is available and of course booking them?

Hope you all have a safe and happy Easter. I am going to spend at least a couple of days checking out the excursions and planning our days at WDW.

Burnice

Burnice, I am so jealous of your 10 night stay at Boardwalk after the cruise! I'd be in heaven :cloud9: if we could spend 10 more days in Disney bliss after the 14 on the Magic!

Last year we did the ship tour that was about the decor onboard and I think they also have a galley tour and a bridge tour. We did not find out about the tours until arriving onboard the ship. You could check w/ guest services once you board.

SOOOOOOOO excited, my sister is now joining us on the cruise. She is a blast to travel with. I love my sister so much, she is the best. Sue that is very exciting! I love traveling with my sister too. She's coming w/ us in 2 weeks on a Mediterranean cruise. But doing a TA w/ your family is such a good idea b/c there really is so much time to spend together.

You need to break in those new sandals before the cruise. I made a HUGE mistake of bringing brand new shoes and vacation. Lets just say blisters need a week to heal. Never again. :headache:

I'm breaking in sandals right now for my trip in 2 weeks. They are Merrells (http://www.merrell.com) so they are made to be comfortable, but there are still parts that need stretching IMO.
Me trying to get my shoes to stretch out = :cheer2:

I love mini eggs too :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I usually make a chocolate fudge cake at Easter topped with lots of mini eggs

I made the sandal mistake in Barcelona last year.... wore new sandals and walked about in them all day and even though they were suppsoed to be cushioned etc etc they wrecked my feet and had to sticl plasters on everywhere ... not exactly a glamourous look for cruising. I also had to wear my trainers for sightseeing in Gib and Madeira as the blisters were terrible .... and I ahte wearing trainers in hot places. This time I am breaking any new shoes in before we go.

Thank You, she is so excited. I did not tell her all the things I signed us up for. Let her be surprised by all of the nice people I have "met" online.
