Lynne, enjoy the rest of your trip. The Grand Canyon is our very favourite place!!!

We have a long weekend ahead of us ..... I have 3 days off work, but poor DH is working night shifts all over the weekend, and DD is working hard on her illustrations for her University end of year assessments, so I doubt we will be doing much at all. I plan to rest up and hopefully get rid of a horrible chest virus I have lingering around. I may take a few walks out if the weather stays nice. On Easter Sunday we will probably have a family meal with my Mum and then I have to pick up DS from the airport as he has been in Cyprus for the week with his GFs family.

Does anyone have any plans for the Easter weekend?

DH & I are on Cape Cod with my roommate Eilean (MomE). We had lunch with Caroline (LovingtheMouse) Yesterday at the Steaming Tender in Palmer MA. YUM! In an old train station with lots of trains going by - but not stopping. Today - Brazillian Grill in Hyannis.

My absolute favorite store for cooking (and baking) items is Williams-Sonoma. There is one at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando. http://www.williams-sonoma.com/?cm_type=gnav It's pricey, but their items are always high quality, made to last. They also have an interesting selection of baking and cooking ingredients. We've been to Le Gourmet Chef - it's okay, but you could probably find the same Wilton items at Michael's Craft Stores for less. I've not been to the Calphalon outlet, but I do like their cookware. It's not my favorite (that would be Scan Pan), but it's very good. Same for Le Creuset, though I find it to be very heavy. We have one saucepan that I need to use two hands to lift. That means I need a third hand to scrape! You have to understand, though, Dennis and I are a bit crazy-serious about our cooking. We each have our own knives because he likes one brand and I like something else. And yes, I've paid triple digits for a single knife.

Dennis is actually a fabulous baker. I'll ask him if he has any ideas for good places to buy bakeware. I don't like to follow recipes - I'd rather "play" with my food. That makes me a really good cook, but a really lousy baker. ;)

A big advantage to Michaels and Joann's for Wilton stuff is COUPONS! Sign up for their emails and they'll send you coupons. Or, if you're UK, some of us can save them for you.

What a lovely dog. Is your dog able to interact with people. I say this because we had a lady with a service dog in the hospital and we were't supposed to pet it or make a fuss of it because it infererd with its ability to do the job.

Because people asked about The Dog :)

Normally I let "little kids" & other folks in wheelchairs pet him. But when its a ship Full of kids i don't let anyone.

He works for the "petting" that i give him. If i let everyone pet him, He wont work for me. (sorry)

I'm a trainer of Service dogs.

For FE "gifts" Toys are always good lol. He cant have "food" of any type. (his tummy)

I am off to see the Grand Canyon and the red rocks of Sedona, AZ, as I wrap up 2 weeks on the west coast.

Oooh I love the Grand Canyon, have fun!!

That makes perfect sense.....although it will be very hard to resist such a lovely dog!

I hope everyone is having a Happy Easter.

We have just spent 4 hours in the garden cutting the grass, digging out some huge roots, and weeding!!! Had to come in as it is SO hot we were both feeling faint!

Not sure what our plans are for the rest of the weekend, other than some more painting in the Kitchen. We have not done much for the past week or so as we've had a lot going on so we really need to get on & get it finished.

Just seen the trailer for the new Winnie the Pooh movie. Looks awesome :cool1: Hopefully they will play it on the ship, but may just have to go to the cinema here during the summer to see it ...;)

Makes sense! Thanks for letting us know. PM me your info and I'll put you on the FE list. Is he a Labradoodle? I bathe dogs for a groomer and we have a couple of Labradoodles that come to us for grooming. Sweet dogs, but a bit like bathing a cross b/w a pony and a sheep. I always end up as soaked as the dogs!

Dennis and I are off to judge the cooking/baking contest at the "Reynolds Strawberry Festival" in Reynolds, GA (no, you've never heard of it) on Saturday. We've been judges for several contests in the area over the years, and well, let's just say it's always interesting. The toughest part is not making faces (good or bad). Most of it is pretty good. But I have to say, there was one time that I tried an item and thought, "I've just eaten sawdust."

We're going to Mass in Atlanta (about 1.5 hours from here) on Sunday. Dennis is Byzantine Catholic and the that's the closest BC church to us. Then we're going to Easter Brunch. (I'll go to church, but there has to be either a meal or a trip to Ikea in it for me. Told you, I'm a heathen.) So we'll be kissing the diet goodbye for the weekend!

After a busy day working in the garden and doing chores, I am enjoying the evening sun on the patio with a glass of wine, waiting for the family to arrive any minute. Let the weekend of chaos begin :scared1: :lmao:

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :cool1:

i love strawberries, but it never ceases to amaze me how very different two strawberries can be. sometimes they can be so juicy and nice, other times theyre bitter and horrible. yuck :(
suppose it could be worse, you could bite into one and find half a maggot! :rotfl:

Oh now I will have to go and watch the trailer too! We are big Winnie fans - I have a winnie bear from the early 1980's who comes along on our travels (as seen in below photo) Just don't mention his lack of red shirt, he is quite sensitive about that lol :lmao:

We have to wait until July 15th for the Winnie the Pooh movie to come out here :sad2: Can't understand why there is such a big difference in release dates between the UK and Canada :confused3

:welcome: We are Leanne, DH Ken, and DD Morgan (will be 9 as of sailing) and my parents Ted and Dorothy. Looking forward to meeting you so very soon! :woohoo:

I got over the fear of booking the "wrong" hotel :faint: and finally booked the pre-cruise hotels. I'll be joining a few of you at the Novotel Barcelona City :yay:

And talking about breaking in shoes, I just bought my bridesmaid shoes for a wedding in November. Gold heels, and as a bonus I can't walk in heels. Anyone want to set up a pool to see what point of the evening I fall flat on my face? :rolleyes1

That's where we'll be as well. Although, we won't get in until the evening of the 9th.

Hope you get to feeling better. We actually have a very busy weekend. Tomorrow we are helping put on a children's Easter program at our church and then Sunday we'll have our Easter service and a big meal with the whole church. Monday we plan to sleep all day!! :yay:

Happy Easter everyone!

If you are looking for a Michaels, there is one at Davenport, which is a few junctions up the I4 from disney heading towards tampa, it's the junction of the 27 with the I4.... which is the Haines city turnoff.... from crossroads it will take about 10/15 mins.... there is also a JC Penny which you can see them from the I4.... it's not too big but has some nice shops which are not so much of a tourist trap. But I also like the outlet on international drive but sometimes its a night mare to park

That is the one place we want to get to this time. We had planned to go on the Friday last year, but it was covered in low damp cloud so we didn't think it was worth making the trip there. You need to be able to see the view I think!!;)

Parc Guell is well worth the trip and the walk from the metro. Even with low cloud the architecture and the parc are beauitful and worth the visit

Does anyone have any plans for the Easter weekend?

Well I wasn't doing much today, I just popped round to a friend to wish her a happy birthday and a few glasses of wine and sitting in the garden five hours later I left !!!!!! but it was fun. Just lazing around at home for rest of weekend.
