I have just purchased a dress for my cruises this year.... OMG it has hidden mickeys all over it :lmao::lmao::lmao:

DH saw it and said it just had to be purchased :thumbsup2

Any non-Disney person will not notice, but all of you guys will spot them straight away

Lovely dress, Mary. :thumbsup2

Perhaps we should have a competition to see who can guess the actual number of hidden mickeys on it! :rotfl:

Are e-readers making onboard book-swaps a thing of the past?

I think it is easier to carry a kindle than to collect so many books. I don't know if it will do away with books but it certainly has changed the book reading habits.

Yes we are looking forward to Disney Hilton Head, they may not have too many Disney characters, but we so love Disney’s attention to detail, and sometimes it’s the little touches that make a holiday so special

Do you have any insiders tips, or recommendations on what to do/see or where to eat, they would be most appreciated
margaret

Disney has a second pool for the Hilton Head resort that is right next to the ocean; they run regular shuttles to it from the resort. We liked going over there for walks on the beach.

Whenever we are driving in the US, we always make a point of making at least one visit per trip to Cracker Barrel and there is one in Hilton Head. It's a chain restaurant that we unfortunately don't have in Canada that offers a nice variety of homestyle meals at a reasonable price. Do love their Chicken 'n Dumplins and fried apples. Mmm! :cloud9:

What I have noticed on my other cruise is that very few post on the DIS boards that most post on FB so if one is not on FB, one tends not to keep up with the thread.

I hope that it does not happen here as I enjoy posting both places.

Me too:thumbsup2

Definitely, there must be a flaw somewhere :rotfl: :rotfl:

If not we'll just make one up. ;)

Don't worry ..... there are many flaws, and you certainly won't be needing to make any up :rotfl2::rotfl2:

That is a gorgeous dress .... love it! I really need to get going with my dress shopping. Especially as I have decided that I don't like about 50% of my dresses from last year and want to replace them :confused3:confused3

My DH and I will arrive at port Canaveral and walk around the corner and get on the carnival dream. (now am wishing we had done a B2B on the Disney magic) when we arrive back a week later we are spending :thumbsup2
3 nights in Orlando
3 nights at Disney Hilton Head
4 nights at Myrtle Beach
3 nights in Washington
8 nights in New york
And seven nights cruising back to England on the QM2
Having never really cruised before I was a bit worried we had booked all those cruises , which is why we ended up doing a short cruise last year. They will all be good in their own way, but it,s the WBTA I’m really looking forward to. Sorry I’ve waffled a bit
margaret

WOW WOW WOW ... this sounds like a dream come true :cloud9::cloud9: You are so so lucky.

I think it is easier to carry a kindle than to collect so many books. I don't know if it will do away with books but it certainly has changed the book reading habits.

I don't really like reading text on a screen and couldn't do it for a whole book. I like to have an actual paper book .. somehow reading text on a screen is too much like work. A trip report is about my tolerable limit, and that is only because it is my favourite subject. I can't see myself ever getting an E reader. ( but I will be looking for a lightweight book for the cruise )

Overgrown 5-year olds with credits cards loose on the High Seas

Thanks again Lynne for your hard word doing the weekly re-cap :)

Lovely dress, Mary. :thumbsup2

love your dress mary, thats a challenge - how many hidden mickeys on mary's dress:teacher:

Cute dress!! I think we have a new activity - find the Hidden Mickeys on Mary's dress!

I love this dress and all its hidden mickeys :goodvibes

Thanks for all your lovely comments, Stevie thought it was lovely as soon he saw it and encouraged me to buy it, looking forward to wearing it :cool1:

Now the count the hidden mickeys is a great idea :rotfl2: I should check it over for a rouge guesstimate and provide the prize for the closest guess :rotfl:

Matthew McC went to my high school! He was a senior when I was an 8th grader, so we were never on the same campus.

Ditto!! It is really pretty! :)

OMG I love Matthew McConnaughy :lovestruc my claim to fame at High School (but only the UK people here will really know him) Gray O'Brien (Tony Gordon from Coronation Street) was in my class and I did actually hang around with him, he was one of my friends. Shame we lost touch after I got married and moved away :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm nearly done now, just looking at one more formal dress. I had to get organised in time for our June cruise. I've been strategic with the dresses this time and made sure that there is a bit more give in the ones for the second week :scared1: those zips just don't fasten up on fitted dresses by the end of the cruise :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 don't know why :rotfl:

Mary - Love the dress :thumbsup2

I must admit I have not heard of Gray O'Brien  I will have to google him to see who he is.

Nice to see I'm not the only one stuck in the dark ages and don't have a FB account.

Mary, I love the dress!!! My John wouldn't notice a hidden Mickey if it was staring him in the face!!!

That sounds great, so many differentcountries haven. Our holiday started out as only three weeks but when we realised how much one way airfare was, and it just got a bit out of hand ( lucky for me :)

I would love to do that. In fact we almost did something similar a few years ago. However, our vacation is going to be for 8 weeks so I am not complaining!!!

As good an excuse as any to go on a shopping spree Sarah!!!:lmao: Go and enjoy!:thumbsup2

I think it would give you sore eyes & a headache trying to count all of them. :rotfl2:

Oooh I love Corrie, I know who he is. :thumbsup2

Have fun with your clothes shopping Sarah, I will be leaving mine until a lot nearer & even then I doubt I will be buying a dress.....I haven't worn a dress or skirt since my mum used to dress me when I was a little girl. (Other than my wedding dress of course :bride: )

I knew anyone who was a Corrie fan would know who he was. He used to be in Casualty and Peak Practice years ago :)

Go on Claire, buy a dress, you would look gorgeous!! I had a sneak peak at your wedding photos on facebook and you looked absolutely beautiful :cutie: go on .... :thumbsup2

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Are e-readers making onboard book-swaps a thing of the past?
Not for me! I like my paper books - went through 10 on my recent 3 week trip including the Panama canal cruise. It's great being able to liberate them when I finish. Besides, if I forget one somewhere, i'm not out 100+$

I don't really like reading text on a screen and couldn't do it for a whole book. I like to have an actual paper book .. somehow reading text on a screen is too much like work. A trip report is about my tolerable limit, and that is only because it is my favourite subject. I can't see myself ever getting an E reader. That too! Even trip reports are a struggle.

Glad to see I'm not the only FB/Twitter/texting hold-out here! It's not that I can't, it's that I just don't want to....it seem like soooo much work (and fodder for my OCD) keeping up with it all! The same reason I could never keep a journal...arghh. I always wanted everything to be perfect and all the details just right....and who has that kind of time?

So, I'll be right here, too, as usual.

The spreadsheet is an excellent idea. I was wondering if anyone would put one together; it was a nice tool on last year's EBTA for everyone to add their own info (taking stress off our "fearless leaders", I'm sure).

My smilies aren't working, despite appearing to be "on". Arghhh, again!

I'll be right here, too. I'm 'on' facebook, but rarely go there and virtually never post.

Spreadsheets ROCK! I've kept a travel planning spreadsheet since 2001 - I just save a copy and rename it every year, so the formating and so forth is all set up. I have a calendar grid for the days of the trip (for each trip in the year), a packing list, lists of gifts to buy, places to visit, eat, services I need in a particular place - ie shuttle, ecv phone numbers, scrapbook stores, local friends phone numbers; an address list for the postcards I send (just in case I lose the labels I preprint)

This trip is actually my graduation present from DH because I'm finally done with school. :cool1:
CONGRATULATIONS! As someone who got her last degree at 50, I can so appreciate the effort you put in. What did you study?

Huh? Okay, you lost me at "You can 'group' your friends..." It took me hours just to get my profile pictures right. I'm not very FB savvy.

. . .
FB is a bit too ADD for me. I like to write epistles, not just little comments. It's why I don't text much either. And don't even mention Twitter!

So I'll be right here, as usual.

AMEN sister!

Time to get ready to go to the gym. Happy Day, All!

Awww thanks hun. Although that was 10 years ago! :faint: I just had another look at them after reading your post. I can't believe how young we looked in them....geez we haven't aged well over the last ten years!

I really need to get back on the dieting wagon. IF I lose enough I'll "think" about getting one dress for formal night......:thumbsup2

Wow Linda that sounds amazing!!!! :worship: I love the sound of that but wouldn't know where to start on creating one.

Morning fellow Moose groupie:wave:

Our home resort is VWL too.

I love Wilderness Lodge! We've only stayed there once but will definately be back, it is our favourite resort.

Claire, fabbie. We all need to get on the diet wagon before this cruise. I hate to admit that I put on 10 lbs last year :confused3:rolleyes1

Our first home resort was Wilderness Lodge, I absolutely adore it there. We had 2 christmas trips at VWL and it was sooooo beautiful  it has a really special place in my heart... my second home

I think I put about that on after my trip last month too, across the 17 nights, not just the 4 night cruise! :lmao: It's so easy putting it on but so bloody difficult to lose it!

It is so beautiful at Christmas, that was when we stayed - December 2008. :santa:
