I have just purchased a dress for my cruises this year.... OMG it has hidden mickeys all over it :lmao::lmao::lmao:

DH saw it and said it just had to be purchased :thumbsup2

Any non-Disney person will not notice, but all of you guys will spot them straight away

Sounds fab!!!! Any pics or a link?

My hubby Ed and I are signed up for this cruise.

hi karen! from another karen :)
i'm cruising with DH gary, and i'm organising the secret mickey exchange if you fancy joining in

I am sure we had enough - or at least I do to upgrade and leave Stevie in economy :rotfl:

mmmm, tough choice! tempting though ;)

no dodgy stories about me though as I am totally angelic :littleangel::littleangel:

now is that really true?......

:rotfl2: Yeah ok, I believe you......I am sure we can ply Tony with enough alcohol to dish the dirt. ;)

that sounds like a challenge we can all take up!

I agree with Susie. I was just commenting on another cruise that I haven't seen very many posts on the DIS boards, just on FB.

hope people post on both pages instead on just FB

just sent a facebook request for the group :)

Lose some weight before you go and take a couple of stretchy items of clothing!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:[/QUOTE]

Oh no what a prospect ,stretchy clothes I’m wearing them already :rotfl: !!! what now I’ll have to have my jaws wired together. I don’t know what it is about the word diet, but try telling someone like me you can’t have something, well what can I say……………………

Well my motto is you only live once, so enjoy it...especially on your holidays! ::yes::

Seven weeks sounds fab. :cool1: Reminds me of a few years ago when DH & I went off to Hong Kong, Australia & Dubai for just over 2 months. :cloud9: Where are you going after the cruise?

That sounds great, so many differentcountries haven. Our holiday started out as only three weeks but when we realised how much one way airfare was, and it just got a bit out of hand ( lucky for me :)

My DH and I will arrive at port Canaveral and walk around the corner and get on the carnival dream. (now am wishing we had done a B2B on the Disney magic) when we arrive back a week later we are spending :thumbsup2
3 nights in Orlando
3 nights at Disney Hilton Head
4 nights at Myrtle Beach
3 nights in Washington
8 nights in New york
And seven nights cruising back to England on the QM2
Having never really cruised before I was a bit worried we had booked all those cruises , which is why we ended up doing a short cruise last year. They will all be good in their own way, but it,s the WBTA I’m really looking forward to. Sorry I’ve waffled a bit

WOW! That some vacation you've got there! I would need a week off afterward just to rest up from all of that! :rotfl2: You will love Disney Hilton Head. :cool1: Very relaxing! We go there every summer and sometimes right after Christmas. We love it there!

This was to be our first cruise, and we booked it when they were released ages ago. We could not wait so booked a short last minute cruise with cunard last year, on which I showed no restraint with the food.I found I couldn’t sleep because I was so full every night !
I’m hoping I can be wiser, but I doubt that very much and I will just have to exercise myself to death. This cruise will be the start of our holiday of a life time, and we will be away for seven weeks. No children just the two of us, and on my past track record I may double in size !!!!

that sounds fab lucky you, 6 days after the ruise is all we can manage as i have to be home for my dad's 60th birthday, taking my dd out of school too so i dont suppose any longer would be appropriate;)

Yes we are looking forward to Disney Hilton Head, they may not have too many Disney characters, but we so love Disney’s attention to detail, and sometimes it’s the little touches that make a holiday so special

Do you have any insiders tips, or recommendations on what to do/see or where to eat, they would be most appreciated

I am also an avid reader who downloads constantly to my Kindle. I recommend Elizabeth Peters, (also writes under the name Barbara Michaels), P.D. James, Anne Perry, Sara Paretsky, Kathy Reichs, Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, J.A. Jance, Dana Stabenow, Sue Grafton, and Janet Evanovich to name a few. My recommendation is to find the first book written by each author to try them out to see if you like their writing styles.

I also read everything every written by W.E.B. Griffin but I am told he is read mostly by males.

Oh, Noel, we are going to get along so well! I've read all of P.D. James' books (have a major crush on Adam Dalgliesh - weird, I know), and all of Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody books, some of Anne Perry, and most of Sara Paretsky. Janet Evanovich is on my "to read" list.

My current favorite, though, is Carl Hiaasen. So funny, and the craziest antagonists ever! And Skink - best. character. ever. The fact that the stories are set in South Florida, and Jimmy Buffett mentions his characters in his songs is what got me reading the books in the first place. I do, however, have to overlook the fact that Hiaasen is utterly anti-Disney. As a fellow native Floridian, I can completely understand his position on the blatant over-development of the State. I just don't blame it on Disney.

You can "group" your friends, and then when you do a status update, upload a link, or create a photo album, you can give permissions then. I've used it a LOT. Groups like "college days", "former students", "family", "church", and now "WBTA". :thumbsup2 And then periodically go through and revisit the permissions you have set for each group.

I retaliated against Facebook, didn't care to see some of former high school kids I grew up with, etc., but finally gave in and have really enjoyed it. Plus, we have zero family around us and weird work schedules, so it helps the family keep up with our girls. But it wasn't until I "grouped" my "friends" that I started using it more. Each individual status update can be set to be viewed by a certain "group", and you can change it with each status update. :)

Huh? Okay, you lost me at "You can 'group' your friends..." It took me hours just to get my profile pictures right. I'm not very FB savvy.

I'm sure some nice person will keep me up to date with anything that goes on on FB that I can't see.

I'll just be very quiet all here by my lonesome.

You remind me of Eeyore! Or Marvin, the paranoid android from "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (the book, not the lame movie from a few years ago). "Don't worry about me. I'll just stand in this corner and fall apart."

FB is a bit too ADD for me. I like to write epistles, not just little comments. It's why I don't text much either. And don't even mention Twitter!

So I'll be right here, as usual.

Cute dress!! I think we have a new activity - find the Hidden Mickeys on Mary's dress!

I have got a answer from my boss and i can't do the TA this year.

So we go whit Royal Carribean in August, i hope this will be a good cruisecompany to cruise whit.

Connie

RCI is also very enjoyable; cruised WC out of Galveston in Jan. and had a wonderful time. Not better or worse, necessarily, just "different" than DCL. We had exceptional dining servers and room steward, good food, entertainment all five of us enjoyed. You'll have a great trip!

We will have lots to talk about. I too think Adam is very "dishy". Have you ever read the old mystery series written by New Zealand author Ngaio March. Her character Roderick Alleyn reminds me of a cross between Adam and Elizabeth George's Thomas Lynley character. I have often wondered if either or both of them read the series. You can see the character sometimes on PBS in a series done by the BBC called the The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries.

DH and I fall asleep every night to our "Amelia" books on tape which we have on all of our computers.

I have not read Carl Hiaasen so I will have to give him a read soon.

You can write private epistles on FB which I do all the time in messages to friends and family members.
