Last year we did use a copy of our passport on the ebta cruise and did not have any problems

Is this something new or DCL-specific? I think on other lines, we just had to use our room key card and our photo popped up when scanning it. No additional ID required. Good to have, but we were never asked for it.

I keep a copy separate, but also scan a copy in and email it to myself. That way if I ever had to access a copy, it's in my email account. I'm sure that is very illegal, but I did have a friend have his wallet and everything stolen once when outside the US (including his laptop), and it is most definitely a HUGE mess when all of your ID is gone and you are trying to get back to the States. The only thing that "saved" him was that his wife had a copy back home, but hearing their stories, had they had a copy accessible electronically, it would have helped expedite things. (And this is a guy who travels abroad a lot and is careful!)

Well I have just tried to order some T'shirts from Vistaprint with the 50% off. I was just on the payment page and I added a voucher which I thought was for free delivery and it wasn't it has wiped all the 50% off from the order...:( They are still in my cart, so going to have to wait till tomorrow to call them and see what they can do.

Why I have to meddle I'll never know :(

I did the same thing a few months ago --- tried saving a few more bucks, and it wiped out my 50% off code. Did you find the shirts fairly simple to create once uploading the graphics?

Nevermind, I got it back - All ordered now:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if they ship the T'shirts from the USA?

I think our's had shipped from the US, but I couldn't bet money on that.

Illegal or not, having a photocopy of your passport info page makes getting a new passport while on vacation in a foreign country much easier. That's what the US Embassy used to issue my replacement for a stolen passport .

Just remember to keep the photocopy separate from your passport!

No bueno on a stolen passport!

Loving that thought too Mel!

Ditto!!! :lovestruc

Thanks Mandy...I'm just wondering whether I will be having to pay duty on them if they are delivered from the USA.

I did look on the site and they say some things are shipped from the USA and some are from Europe...didn't say what though.

This may be a dumb question, but will we get passport stamps from each of our ports of call? Would be nice to add to the collection. :)

I've read somewhere on the DIS that once onboard you can give your passport to Guest Services for the duration of the cruise & they will get it stamped at each port for you. I hope this is true as I want to get mine stamped too. :thumbsup2

We did that on last year's WBTA, handed the passports into guest services, as Stevie wanted to get our passports stamped in every port. Unfortunately the European ports wouldn't entertain it, but as soon as we got to the caribbean we got stamps from St Maarten, Tortola and Castaway Cay :woohoo::woohoo:

Glad it's not just me, I'm hyper DD is sitting next to me looking at me like I am ..Neils watching it on his iPad next to me:lmao:

DH was watching it too, we were all really excited watching it with our friends as their DD is working on the Magic as a kids rep and they were excited that she is back in Europe again :cool1:

The Magic has left Madeira now and the next time it docks there we'll be on it  :dance3::woohoo::cheer2:pirate:

OMG Mel that is soooo exciting :woohoo::woohoo::dance3::dance3::woohoo::woohoo:

I don't remember having to take our passports off last time to use for ID coming back on board. I thought we just used our KTTW cards ... I may be wrong though. :confused3:confused3

Hi Sarah

It was only on a couple of the port days we had to take ID as well, we used our driving licences (as the passports were at guest services for stamping)

I remember Brent told us at the pre-show chat in the theatre at night when we needed to take ID off too the following day.

We also handed in our passports and got them stamped, although not one from Castaway Cay ... will definitely have to see about getting that stamp!
So the European ports wouldn't let Disney get the passport stamped or they just don't generally stamp them?

I will absolutely be bringing a tiara! And I have the coolest purple dress for Villian's night - except that it's a bit form-fitting and I'm having my doubts about getting into it. But, of course, I have a back-up purple dress, just in case.

We will take any excuse to get dressed up!

I too am working on fitting into a purple dress .. no back up dress .. must. fit. will. fit. :rolleyes1

Perhaps we did then ..... I wonder if Brent will be joining us again ... he was so funny. It used to make us laugh that he said exactly the same things everytime he gave us that chat in the theatre.

Maybe the idea behind taking your photo ID is in case you lose your KTTW card. Or maybe so you have some official form of ID in case something happens when you're in port. :confused3

I used to keep a copy of my passport and other important docs (remember traveler's checks?) in a hidden compartment in my suitcase (actually, at the time, my huge backpack). I may have to try the email trick. Of course, I'd have to figure out how my scanner works first. I approach technology on a "need to know" basis. Like, I need to know how to bid for and pay for stuff on eBay, and how to look up the DISboards on my phone when I'm bored at work. Scanning legal docs so I have a copy when I need it? Meh.

We just got back from seeing POTC4. It was pretty good. Not my favorite - I kind of miss Will and Elizabeth - but Johnny Depp could read the phone book to me, as long as he's dressed as Captain Jack! :lovestruc:lovestruc:cloud9:

Not telling any more about it, though. You'll have to wait and see it for yourselves.

Have you seen the crew perform 'if I were not upon the sea'? Well Brent was the ballerina :laughing: and that picture with the lipstick was taken after the show

Noel, Can you tell me what type of weather you had last year on the crossing. Temperature wise? Thanks Cindy

Weather was wonderful during the crossing except for one day our of Madeira. Every day was sunny and gorgeous. Seas were mostly smooth as glass except for that one day.

Just wanted to share the Senior Prom pictures and the 8th grade graduation dance pictures for my two GD's Aspen and Bailey.
