Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

YAY! Just changed our 4 night Dream (8/29) to the 7 night Fantasy cruise on September 1st! :cool1: Just me and my mom to celebrate her 60th birthday! Can't wait! This will be my 10th Disney Cruise (Woo Hoo - Platinum Status!) :cool1: I am just very surprised that the cost of this cruise was only $250 more than our Dream 4 night (we did go from an outside SR to an inside but I don't care)- and it's also less than the 5 night Dream which we were pricing out?? I'm not questioning it, just happy that we were able to change our 4 night to a 7 night! My husband is having a hard time figuring out how a 4 night cruise has now turned into a 10 day trip! We've added the Boardwalk for 2 nights before and 1 night after our cruise :rolleyes1 Although, I'm not surprised - my mom and I typically find a way to extend our trips! Mom & I usually do a WDW trip or a cruise in August or September, but I am soooo excited to be cruising on the Fantasy! We just got off the Dream a few weeks ago (it was BEAUTIFUL) so I'm still in shock that now we'll be on the FANTASY!!!! Looking forward to getting to talk to our fellow cruisers who will also be on this trip!

Welcome DisneyChic :goodvibes

Yeah, we booked this weekend and the prices seemed really low compared to what we were expecting, but I am not going to complain and neiehter are you, huh? :rotfl: This will be our 10th DCL too (I think I typed 9th before by mistake, no idea why), but my understanding is that we are still gold until AFTER the 10th completed cruise. It sure would be nice to be Platinum though :rolleyes1

Ooops - NHDisneylover --you are correct. The cruise we took in February was #10. This is #11. I mis-typed too. Believe me, I love logging onto DCL website and seeing "Congratulations! You are a Platinum Castaway Member" as soon as I log on :cool1: I've been reading the posts on this thread -- it made me go back and take a look at the times for when we are docked at different ports-- Seems like a very short time in Costa Maya? 1:00 - 5:30?? also, Grand Cayman is only 6 hours (11:30-4:45) -- I don't remember our last Western Caribbean on DCL being so short at this port of call (Grand Cayman)? I am pretty sure we tendered in and out here, so that takes a while, waiting for the tender, etc. Now I'm thinking if I do the 7 Mile Beach I'll do it through Disney instead of on our own like we did last time (we took a taxi there - only $4 per person each way I believe -- it was 2004, so forgive me if I'm not correct).

I've not been to Costa Maya, on our last Western it was Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Castaway Cay (and 2 days at sea). Anyone know anything about this port? There aren't any port adventures listed on DCL website yet. Just wondering if anyone has been there??

When we were in Costa Maya (sveral years ago) we took an excursion (one of only two we have ever taken through DCL) to the Kohunlich (sp?) Mayan ruins. It was about a 90 minute bus ride inland--but the ruins a in fabulous shape and you can still walk around on them--which was a lot of fun. We had an amazing time.

It seems if the port time is this short there would not be time for that :confused3

Otherwise, when we were there (2005 or 2006) there was not much in the town itself. It may have been built up since then (they had recently been hit by a hurricane and had not fully recovered).

I'll have to check again, but I thought I saw Costa Maya excursions listed on the DCL site this weekend.

I wonder if the shorter port times are due to the big ships perhaps having to move more slowly in the water? It is only a guess but it makes sense to me.

Oh, and congrats on reaching Platinum status for real then:thumbsup2:goodvibes

I didn't see anyone keeping a roll all. This is not very official or well organized, but at least it can be a start if anyone wants to have a quick reference on one page of who all is going :goodvibes

Thanks for making a list! We are 2 Adults and our DD will be 4.

Is anyone else impatiently waiting for Navs, photos, menus etc.? I'm a planner, so I can't wait to see everything!!!!

Hi everybody. I am glad no one minded me making a list :goodvibes I will try to update it every few weeks.
Is there anything else you would like added to it? First names maybe?

I can't wait to see all the photos that will be going up soon. Deb Wills posted on facebook asking what specific things people want photos of:thumbsup2 I pretty much want to see everything:rotfl:

I would love to have a meet (or two). On past cruises we have often done a first day meet one hour before the muster drill. By then nearly everyone is there but not much else is going on on the ship so it is easy to get to without missing things. What do you guys think?
