Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

Hello everyone :)

I'm Sinitta and I will be on this cruise along with a party of 10 - which comes as a pleasant surprise! My sister and I came up with the idea two years ago, and I guess the more we talked about it, the more people wanted to join! This is our first Disney cruise so I'm hoping to gain any insight I can through you guys. I have already spent several months reading trip reports and soaking up all the vital info!

Hope to see you all soon!

Welcome to the cruise... all of you!
Looks like you did some homework from the boards by reading trip reports. There are many of us that have done Disney cruises and we are willing to answer any questions that may come up. So ask away :thumbsup2

And again welcome to the cruise:banana:

Hi Ann
Yeah we have tried, but there just seems to be so much to take in! I'll apologise in advance for all the questions I throw at you all during the build up :flower3:

I just noticed a change on port arrival times on DCL website.

Day Port Ashore Onboard
1 Port Canaveral, Florida — 3:45 p.m.
2 At Sea — —
3 Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands 11:30 a.m. 4:45 p.m. (was 10:45)
4 Costa Maya, Mexico 1:00 p.m. 5:30 p.m. (was 12:45)
5 Cozumel, Mexico 8:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m. (was 8:00am - 5:45pm)
6 At Sea — —
7 Castaway Cay 9:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. (was 9:15-4:00pm)

I am slightly disappointed in the Grand Cayman time change. We had a lot planned for that day. No worries, we could be at home instead of on vacation. My DD11 is worried she won't have enough time to enjoy the boat !

That stinks, but the positive is that we will have more time on the ship!

Wonder what the change in times is due to?! Hmm! Nevermind eh, it'll probably turn out to be a blessing in disguise to appreciate Fantasy in her true beauty :yay:
How is the planning going for everyone? I keep wanting to change things, not being decisive at all, oops!

Hey everyone!!! Jut put our deposit down today and we are so excited!!! It will be myself and my 5 year old!!! This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and our 3rd different ship! Looking forward to getting to know you all!!

Hi!! My sister and I are also taking my 5 year old nephew (her son) on the cruise. We are travelling from Australia!! He is a single child so good to know of other kids going by themselves. Seems heaps of people travel with large families and/or friends!!

I am going to be sooo jealous of children onboard!
The very first few moments when they're boarding the ship is going to be so special. The expression on their faces will be such a priceless experience :thumbsup2

I know, I can't wait to see all of their faces just light up!

Hi all! We cancelled an Alaska cruise and booked this instead; it is much cheaper and we also can save a bundle on airfare as it is much cheaper to fly from Frankfurt to MCO than to Seattle :)

This is the 9th DCL cruise for myself, DH, DD15 and DS13 and the 5th for my in laws. It will be our first time on one of the newer ships and the first time in a few years going to Castaway Cay :cheer2:

We have two balcony cabins and one inside across the hall on deck 8.

We are:
Me, Hadley
DH, Dave
DD15, Marika (VulcanGirl on the DIS)
DS13, Rio (RockinRio on the DIS)

We have lived in Germany for about 3 1/2 years now but are originally from the US.

Our kids are not missing school! The summer break runs end of July to September 11. Rio will have very little time to recover from jet lag before returning to class though (we will have an overnight flight home on Saturday--arriving at about 11:00 Sunday morning and he will have school the next day--but he'll manage).

We took advantage of free dining and will be spending the week before the cruise at the Wilderness Lodge. We can't wait:dance3:

I will look through the thread more carefully tomorrow. I scanned it quickly today and did not see a roll call. Do we have one somewhere?

Good to meet you nhdisneylover. We have a separate thread to FE.

I will have a 15 year old son on the ship too.

Welcome! We have a 14 year old son sailing with us!

Ended up moving our trip to the end of April, just couldn't wait lol! Hope you guys have a great trip!!

Thank you both for the welcome :goodvibes

I am pleasantly surprised by how many teens are on this sailing (out of the small group here). I've been reading that the teens are not allowed on the teen pool deck unless there are at least 3 of them and teh result has been that it is rarely used on the Dream. Hopefully there will be enough of them that they can get together and go in groups of 3 or more and use it :goodvibes

Marika usually starts a teens/kids thread on the DIS for the group so that they can all get to know one another away from our boring adult posts  maybe she can do that again soon and hopefully others will post.

Thanks for the heads up on the FE thread too. I am not sure we will participate this time around--it is hard with international flights. We will also be spending a week a WDW before the cruise so we have a lot of clothes we need to fit into our limited luggage allowance. We always enjoy it when we do participate though.

Has everyone else been looking at all the great photos of the Fantasy which came out in the last couple of days? We are loving them and just getting so excited.
