Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

Thanks for the link :goodvibes

I am eagerly awaiting the photos and reviews from Deb Wills of allearsnet who is on a preview cruise right now.

Has everyone seen all the photos of the Fantasy that Deb took last week and posted on allears?

I love getting to see more and more:goodvibes

Hi Everyone DH(Eric) and I (Robert) are booked on this cruise and we can't wait. This is my first Disney Cruise and his first cruise all the way around. We are wanting to join in all activities, and participating in the FE. We have booked with Dreams Unlimitedso and we haven't received a room number as of yet. When does that normally happen so we will be able to join the FE group? I look forward to getting to know everyone before and on the trip!

Hi Eric! Welcome to you and Robert.

If you did not book a specific room to begin with those tend to be assigned pretty late in the game--around 30 days out. The fastest way to find out what it is will be to log into the DCL website and look at your booking at least once a day when we start getting close. It always seem to take the travel agents a few days longer to notify people than they could find on their own.

You can still sign up for the fist extender (well, I asusme you can with this group, every other group I have sailed with does it that way but since I
am not running FE I guess I should not say for certain;) )and jsut not have a room # yet--but your names, how many in the party, etc would still be taken note of so everyone knows what to start making/buying and you'll just post your room number when you finally have it :goodvibes

Hi Eric and Robert,

Welcome to the cruise and dis group. Did you see the link for the FE group under the link for this group. Just put the info that you have and when you get a room number add it. Where are you guys coming from? My family, me (Tammy), husband, (billy), and out three kids (4,9,15) are coming from the Washington DC area. We look forward to meeting you guys.

We're coming from Cleveland, TN. I've been wanting to get involved with the Dis and the members for a long time, but have always said " when I get time" so now I'm making time. My cousin and his wife and 2 year old daughter will be joining us too. I'm a Huge Disney fan, and would talk about it all day, but Eric is not at all. I figured that a cruise was a good way to split the difference and get him hooked on the Magic of it all.

Not that it really matters, but I wrote our names backwards, I'm Robert, and DH is Eric. I really appreciate all the help and welcomes from everyone.

So Welcome to you Robert then :goodvibes

It is funny--there are two couples we often cruise with. In one there is a Robert and in the other an Erik. So I am having to adjust to putting those two names together as one couple now :rotfl:

I will add you guys to the roll cal the nest time I update it (hopefully this weekend).

Yep! I've seen Deb's photos! I can't wait to see it for myself! 5 months to go....torture!!!

Seems like it will be forever doesn't it?

NHdisneylover,

Just curious - do you have the early dinner seating or late seating? Also, are you going straight from the airport to the cruise or are you going to WDW first? -- I apologize if this is in the earlier threads, I am unable to go back right now and look - I have limited time to DIS while at work!

We have late dining. Even when the kids were little we liked that better--it was easier to keep them awake for the earlier show that you get with late dinner. Now we just like to be able to talk about he shows over dinner, have more time to dress, etc AND we are used to eating later now.

All four of us will have been in the US for at least one week before the cruise. We are going to WDW:goodvibes

Marika is working an internship at a camp for girls with special needs during the month of jUly. That is in Kansas City so she will not fly back to Germany until after the cruise. She will probably spend most of the time in between in Colorado with my inlaws and she will spend a few days with her friend in Florida before the rest of us get there:goodvibes

Rio might fly out a week or two ahead as well, to visit friends in New Hampshire or his grandparents in Colorado. We are not sure yet.

Basically, we want to get a lot of the time/money we invest in flights across the pond:thumbsup2

How about you? When do you plan to arrive and what seating do you have?

Sounds like you have some jam-packed plans for this trip!

We are flying out on Thursday, and staying at the Boardwalk before the cruise and then after the cruise we are going back to the Boardwalk for an additional night. We may change this and arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on airfare. We also booked the transfers to/from the port through DCL and I'm really not a fan of this. Too many stops along the way. I'm thinking of cancelling that and getting a towncar. The best price so far was from Happy Limo's at $259 RT including tip, tolls, taxes etc. It will be only $119 more but when I think of how I can spend that $119 on the ship....It makes me lean towards the transfers.

We have the early dining. My mom does NOT enjoy the late seating. She doesn't like dinner ending so late and then being tired and going to bed. Too much food for her to eat that late. This is why we booked early. I'm not sure how I feel about it. There are pro's and cons to each. I like the later seating so I don't feel like I have to rush back from ports, etc. to get ready for dinner but I also don't like eating late. So, I let my mom choose this time.

Oh how fun disneychic :dance3:

Personally, I would probably not pay that much more for a private transfer if I only had the two people. We thought the busses were kind of fun when we took them.

With 6 people we will do something on our own though and we ARE thinking of splurging. We might, just this once, get an actual limp for our party. Since this is our "luxury" trip with the deluxe hotel, etc it would be a really fun surprise for the kids (Rio would love it) and is not a whole lot more than a van would cost. I'm still debating:rolleyes1

I actually did my transfers through Disney -- I put that $119 towards the insurance. The Disney motorcoach is fine we've taken it before and my mom says she doesn't mind taking the motorcoach.

Hi Everyone,

I'll be joining you all on this cruise. Sailing solo. Can't wait to sail on the Fantasy and getting to know you all!
