I finally received my closing docs yesterday and went to the bank first thing this morning to get a money order to send in. I sent them out today via Fedex 2nd day which will get there on Friday. I probably should have overnighted them, but I figured with it almost being the weekend anyway, and I have waited this long so I went the cheaper route. It has been a long wait (at least it feels that way). I submitted contract and payment on 9/6, ROFR on 9/14 and now I have just been waiting.:rolleyes1
Ok so what happens now. They will get my money order and papers on Friday. What else happens?? I am still waiting on my closing docs for my 2nd resale which I bought a week after this one. I want to make my reservations already!!

You wait, and wait, and wait. popcorn::

I am still waiting to finalize mine and I sent the doc's and cash 10/5:rolleyes1 .

Ah the joys of resale...

This reminds me of the stress and frustration when we adopted our DDprincess: from China.

But like the joy she has brought us this to will be joyful when it's over..

Congrats on your princess: from CHina!! Children are such a blessing. :grouphug:

Yea this waiting is killing me!

Has anyone been through closing recently to say what happens after they receive your signed docs and final payment? How long before you are in the system and can make ressies??

I just completed my sale with TSS. They had my check and closing documents then had to wait for the seller to get their paperwork in. Once they received those papers (toook about a week) it was really quick. I received an email telling me "It's time to set your mouse loose......Here's your pin, now you're in"!!! I was so excited. I called member services to get my club ID and immediately signed on. :surfweb:

That was Oct 4th......still waiting for my "Welcome Home" package from Disney. :rolleyes1

I'm in the system and ready to book....just planning my next trip as we speak :yay:

I agree this was a somewhat stressful time for us as well....but well worth it!

Oh you are soooo lucky!!! I wish I had my PIN and member ID.:sad1:
Is the website as bad as everyone says it is??:rolleyes1

If possible, can you be more specific about the time between when they had all closing docs, and when you actually closed; and the time between closing and being in the system? "really quick" is relative, especially when you're still waiting! thanks...

Here's my total timeline:

August 10th - received beginning documents from TTS

August 13th - Faxed all requested paperwork back

Sent for ROFR

Waited, waited, waited:scared:

August 22nd - Congratulations I passed ROFR!!!! :dance3:

Documents said i would receive closing paperwork about 28 days....

Waited, Waited :scared:

September 17th - Emailed all closing documents

September 18th - overnighted the paperwork back to TSS

This is where it got a little nerve wracking....:confused3

September 27th - Sent email to TSS because I hadn't heard anything. Find out the sellers are out of the Country and haven't signed the paperwork yet. They also pointed out to me that the closing date on my documents was on or before october 5th.

October 2nd - Bank on-line for financing was completed ( I think this was when closing occurred).

October 4th - Received email with my pin number.

I immediately called member services and they gave me my member ID with no problem.

Booked my first trip "home" last night.:yay: Had points from 2006 that we HAD to use but DD's sports schedule is nuts and we couldn't find a good time to go.

Hope this information is helpful. From my experience the final closing can depend on everyone getting their paperwork back in a timely matter.

Forgot to mention that although I am in the system and have booked my first DVC trip....I am still waiting for the "welcome home" package from Disney. I was told this could take a few weeks.

Also, I saw a link for checking the deed room in one of these threads....and the deed has been recorded.

Lastly, since I bought in OKW I'm wondering how long it will take them to send me information regarding the offer of extension. I'm sure the original documentation went to the prior owner. Not sure yet what we're going to do.

Thank you for providing that timeline! It is very helpful. :goodvibes

Do you remember the link for the deed room? I tried to search it and couldn't find a good link.

thanks for that info. I know everyone's case is different, but that's a really good reference for those of us in limbo. :rolleyes1

One step closer to going home!

Received notice we closed yesterday and documents forwarded to DVC!

Now just waiting for that magic email from DVC with our PIN!

:cool1:

I sent my closing paperwork in today. Now all I have to do is wait for the check from the buyer. :thumbsup2

Once all of the "paperwork" is complete you have nothing but years of fun ahead. Hang in there.:woohoo:

Still twiddling my thumbs here...I'm past my closing date at this point. Maybe Disney needs to up their staff for doing this sort of work since they've got so many contracts out there.

This morning I received an e-mail congratulating me on closing my DVC this week! :rotfl2: That's nice of them except....I received a phone call LAST FRIDAY, 10/19, telling me I had closed the day before. The e-mail also told me to call Disney on 11/2....that's the day I can start making reservations. :confused3 I called MS on Monday, 10/22, I was already in the system and made my first ressie! I'm still waiting on the message from disney welcoming me....popcorn::

The moral of this story is..... CALL your agent/guide. Communication isn't always what it should be.

Good luck!

I've made my first DVC ressie for February.

Still wondering how long it will take Disney to send me the welcome package I've read about. Thank goodness for Dis or I would be clueless!!

AND.....since I bought in OKW, Disney still has to contact me about the extension.

One week from today leaving for an all "girls only" trip :dance3: Staying at Bonnet Creek for this one. Gotta get my Disny fix :lmao:
