senior pictures

I just had a nice session at Picture People with DD 15 and one of our dogs. I paid $15 for plenty of pics, I had a groupon. I swear, the pics were of better quality than Adam's senior pics. I would love to take him there with our other dog but he is such a pain about pictures. Maybe I'll say no graduation present if he won't take a picture!

I called Adam to tell him if he didn't go to get his picture taken, I was putting an 8x10 of his awful senior pics on my desk at work. That worked! he's agreed to go. He won't pose with the dog but I can live with that. Yay!

Wow, you all got away cheap! The sitting fee alone was $200! Our school uses a specific photographer. You can use your own, but the prices were all similar around here and then you have to jump through hoops to get the prints approved by the yearbook.

DS20 graduated in 2012 and the school does free sitting for yearbook photo with a drape for the girls and shirt/tie/jacket for the boys.

For my son's casual photos, I found a Groupon for a photographer in St. Louis (90 miles away) for $60 for an hour, and we rented Busch Stadium as the venue. We shared the cost with 2 other boys and had a great time. She took great pics, and we were able to get a CD of all the photos. We did end up buying retouched prints from her, but I thought they were quite reasonable compared to what other families in my area were paying.

My DS is a HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fan, so there was no better place to take his pics.

We used a Groupon too for my kid's. I can't remember exactly how much I paid but it was under $100 for a session in the local park (two different outfits) and then we got a photo cd and could order whatever prints we wanted from Snapfish or whatever. I played around a little with a photo editing software but really nothing major was needed.

The school had an official Lifetouch suit and tie picture that went in the yearbook but we didn't even buy any of those.

In order for my daughter's photo to be in the yearbook a photo had to be taken at the official photography studio. We paid $15 so that they would take 5 photos and she could choose her pose. The prices to purchase photos was high and we passed.

I have a high quality digital camera. She and I took photos at multiple outdoor locations, including the summer camp where she worked and in both the fall and spring. We ended up with some fabulous photos. I used one on her invitations/announcements we had printed at Sam's. I created a photobook on Shutterfly of the 30 best photos. We had the photobook to pass around to relatives who wanted photos so they could choose the poses they wanted and had it displayed at her graduation party. I also ordered wallet photos from about 8 different poses to display and for people to take from the party.

My total cost for multiple photos, including a 10 x 13, and the photobook was under $50.

BTW, they really did look great. When I picked up one of my orders from Sam's Club they requested the photo release from the photographer because they we sure they were professional photos.
