DH and I are grandparents. We plan on spending one dat at Universal. I don't think IOA would suit us, but what is there that might interest us at the US? Is it like Disney's MGM?

Grandparents can be anywehre from about 40 to 100. What is your age range? I am 56 and love ALL the attractions at both parks.

I say go for it. There are many exciting and thrilling rides :scared1: , but there are also tame rides and great shows.

My 80 yr. old mom was with us last July and enjoyed just looking around. She also did MIB with us twice!!! Jimmy Neutron was a little rough on her because we didn't think about the motion sickness aspect. In IOA, she rode Jurassic Park with us and really got a kick out of the talking fountain over by Poisidon. She enjoyed the Lucy tribute and performers, Blues Brothers, and other characters we encountered. She accompanied us to WDW about 5 yrs. ago and was one of 3 in our family that braved Tower of Terror! She insisted on buying a souvenier pic of that as well as MIB last year. Oh, and she enjoyed shooting people with the water cannons at Ripsaw Falls in IOA last year too. If you love theme parks, you're never too old to enjoy them!

My parents, 77, went with us to IOA. At the time I chose that instead of Universal for their one day, but I think Universal would have been better. IOA is a beautiful park to walk around, but many of the rides are too challenging for my parents. They are in good health, just not real action ride people. The big bonus at IOA is they enjoyed watching the grandkids have fun, and I think they enjoyed that. We had never been to IOA before. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken them with us to Universal. On the other hand, if I could only choose one park I would choose IOA. :flower:
At Universal Jaws is great, Men In Black, Lucy, ET (just magical) and Animal Planet might be fun. My parents would have enjoyed those and Curious George, also the feeling of walking around the "set". Shrek 4-D is fun for all ages. I loved the Mummy too, but it really pulls you back into the seat when you go on it, so that might be too much - it would be if you were my mom or dad! I also liked Universal better than MGM.

I was a little nervous about taking my MIL80 because we picked her up in Tampa and went to a mall and she hesitated to ride the escalator. The first ride we went on at Universal was Jimmy Nuetron. I told my wife that it would be a good one to test the waters. MIL was all smiles as she threw a hand back like she was riding a bull! She rode everything after that (Mummy was under construction) and was fearless. Her favorite attraction was the Wild, Wild, Wild, West Show.
