I just wanted everybody to know that as soon as I get out of work today I will be sending all of the New York rain down to Florida to solve all the fire/smoke problems down there!!! So hopefully, in a few days the problem will be solved. :)

Figaro, I am sure most folks in Florida wish it was that easy to solve their draught conditions. If it was, we would all gladly send rain their way! We were there for several days the last two weeks & you can really see the need for rain. The lakes, canals, rivers, etc. are very low. We were at OKW last week when the fire broke out near EPCOT. We watched the helicopter with the bucket dip for water. Our thoughts were that hopefully the pilot could find enough water.

I read today that they are now having problems (not at WDW specifically but in neighborhoods in Florida) with the alligators. They are coming closer to homes and are more aggressive. One killed a pit bull the other day. It is best to use extra caution around water and the foliage that is near the water.

The fire danger is very high in Florida, we have a home in SW Florida where there was a big fire in the Venice area. The other problem besides the alligators wandering out of the canals and lakes because they are low is sinkholes. Many years ago in the Orlando area one was so big that it swallowed up a car dealership. Pray for rain.

A few years ago they had a sinkhole on one of the WDW highways as well. I did hear of one already in Orlando that they felt might swallow an office building....I think they were able to shore it up before it actually happened.

It has done nothing but rain here in NC the last few days, and we have plenty more coming. We leave for WDW Friday, and according to the 10-day forecast, it is supposed to rain in Orlando every day we are there! So much for a pool day! Every time I go to WDW, it rains or gets down to 30 degrees(New Years was very cold), so rest assured, I am bringing relief! :smooth:

We too were at WDW last week and watched the helicopters dumping water on the fire near EPCOT. We were also in the MK when the smoke was so thick that you could barely make out the castle from Partners!!!

When we returned to Ohio on Sunday, we were met with flooding conditions!!! Central Ohio had nearly 10 inches of rain while we were gone. Yards and streets all over were flooded and we had water damage in our garage. To go from seeing drought in the morning to flooding in the evening was surreal.

I certainly hope that our rain would move on down to Florida. The next 7 days all have rain in the forecast :(
