Sending luggage only on DME?

I've done the research and do know that you are not "allowed" to use MDE as a luggage delivery service if you are not riding the bus. What I'd like to know is do people do it anyway? We are renting a car for the first time, and thought this would be a no-brainer.

Seriously, "you have done the research" and are still asking????

The "no brainer" part will be if your luggage gets lost because then no one will have to take responsibility for it. Since DME never saw you they won't look for it and since you think DME has it the airline won't know it's lost and by the time you figure it all out you are past the airlines reporting time!

In your OP you say you know the rules, but want an exception. Sorry that it was rude to point out that they meant you too.

Have at least one person in your group ride DME and you pick up the car. When we do this DW and DD ride DME and I pick up the car. I make a grocery stop and they usually beat me to the resort. They check us in and then I usually get to the resort by then.

You admitted that you knew it was against Disney's rules, but wanted to do it anyway what did you expect? I'd like to point out that you also broke disboard rules by posting this. You're not allowed to ask for help regarding trying to circumvent Disney rules.

I kind of chuckled as I read this question because of all the mug threads going on right now complaining about Disney inconveniencing everyone because a few people weren't following the rules.

For the sake of everyone please follow the rules so Disney isn't forced to implement new ones that make it more difficult for everyone.

If you read my OP, I asked if people do it anyway, as part of my research on the topic. Nowhere did I state we had decided the do it. This is an INFORMATION board, and most people are kind and informative with their contributions.
I am continually disappointed, however, that some feel the need to disparage others personally rather than just express their own opinion.
I choose to use critical thinking about a situation. We could go round and round endlessly about "rules" broken (and discussed at length!) by dis regulars.
Again, thanks to all who offered a reasoned response and explanation for such.

Having done the research, I'm sure you have seen the stickied thread here on the Transportation Board about this very subject. That thread is the only place this subject is allowed to be discussed. That thread will give you all the info you need to make a well informed decision about how you want to handle your luggage.
