Seltzer/Soda Water at Drink Stations on Magic?

Hi all! We are sailing on the Magic October 2016. My sister drinks gallons of seltzer/soda water every day. The kind you make in a Sodastream. I have read conflicting reports about the soda stations. Is there a button to press to get plain carbonated water at the soda stations on the Magic? Does anyone have a recent photo? I assumed there was, but I don't want my sister to dehydrate! ;) She'll bring it in her carryon if she has to, we just need to know to plan ahead. Thanks so much!

I have been on the Wonder and the magic. I do not recall seeing a plain seltzer water tab at the fountain station.

Also, be careful asking for one in the MDR's, I ordered a club soda with lime last year on the Fantasy and they wanted to charge me for an alcoholic beverage. I don't know if it was a language barrier between me and the assistant server or if that is their normal policy, so I stuck with iced tea for the rest of the cruise.

This is a photo of the Magic but hard to see. You have water hot and cold tea coffee and fountain sodas coke etc not soda water. As others say if you ask for soda water and it comes in a can,you will be charged.

I had no problem asking for soda water in the dining rooms, got plenty, was never charged.

I wish they had it at the drink stations as well!

Recently off the magic. Soda water no longer available at drink stations. You will get it for free in the mdr depending on server. Last sailing at lunch the first day I asked in the mdr (explained it is from the drink machine) and was told the machines in the MDR no longer had it. Few hours later in the same mdr our assistant server got it for the whole table each night no problem with no charge. Sailing before last on the same ship our assistant server didnt understand what "soda water" was and kept saying it was from a can and there was a charge. I kept saying it was from the drink machine but ended up giving up. I usually have about 3-4 drinks in the MDR each night and didn't want to spend a $100 on something I knew was free.

Sorry that you had such a hard time. I would take it up with a Head Server if they were not going to serve me my soda water for free in the MDR!! I would certainly not get it in a can and pay for it either. How strange that this is such a difficult topic for the servers.

Taken by me on the Magic.

Ok, this machine is obviously not giving anyone anything to drink - it is Out of Order!!! :lmao:

I am really surprised there is no tab for soda water! You would think it would cost Disney less to give water without the syrup. :thanks:Thanks all for your answers, now I have to break the news to my sister....:duck:

If it makes her feel any better, I share her addiction - I drink about 8-10 cans of soda water per day, but really, not a huge deal to cut back on the cruise. There is so much else going on and out of your normal routine, I don't think it is that noticeable. Also, you can bring on cans of seltzer, as much as you can carry, if it is that important.
