I am thinking of buying a larger add-on through Disney and selling my small OKW contract. Does anyone have an idea of what closing costs would be through resale for me as a seller?

I think that it is customary for the buyer to pay closing costs but, you will have to pay a commission if you sell through an agent. Or, if you can find a buyer privately, then you can save a commission. If I were you, I would give the guys at the Timeshare Store a call. They have negotiated lower closing costs for small contracts and that helps out the buyer of your small contract.

Closing costs often are set by the amount of the sale. We are in the process of buying a small OKW contract and ours were around $300 including the ROFR process. [pixiedust: for ROFR!]

Closing costs can be paid by either the seller, buyer, or split.

Thanks, I guess I should have said, how much are commissions on average? I am trying to figure out if it is worth selling. We bought through TSS and they were great.

Many timeshare resale companies charge a percentage, usually 10-12%. Most also have a min fee, usually in the $1000 range. For that size you could likely sell it yourself easily and save the fees. Almost all a resale company does is find a buyer. You can easily handle escrow and closing without one if you want and still get professional service. I'd think you'd have no problem find a buyer for 50 OKW points for the same price range you'd get through a broker.

FYI-The Timeshare Store, Inc. charges a flat fee of 10% to sell your DVC. There is no minimum.

Is the commission 10 % of the total sale or 10 % of the profits ?

Thanks
