Sell your state.

Come on... there must be something to do in Texas.;) :listen:

There is...
Keep driving North until you hit Oklahoma!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry, I just couldn't resist...

We have family in Dallas and Houston, and I enjoy going down there because they are great places to visit, but I love living in Oklahoma. It has the same feel as Texas, but the cities are not quite so large and overwhelming. It's a great place to raise a family, and like Biscuitsmom said, the people are wonderful.

Massachusetts:

STAY AWAY.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Lived there for 5 years- house burlarized, car hit n run twice, car broken into twice and mugged/ assaulted. Not my favorite state, but I do love rt 2 out near Shelburne (glacial potholes), and the swimming spot you come across further up rt 2 where people swim in their birthday suits and you can see them all from the main road:scared1: .

Rhode Island:

- close to everything: Boston, NYC, Mystic, the casinos
- waterfire
- lots of historical sites
- lots of places to camp, hike, canoe, etc...
- beautiful beaches and quaint New England sea towns still by and large ignored by a lot of tourists who instead go to the over crowded Cape
- Newport mansions and Cliff walk
- Block Island
- a great zoo
- excellent food

New Hampshire
1) Snow. Yes folks, you can do something with it. We have awesome trails for cross country skiing, great mountains for downhill skiing, tubing parks, and tons of trails for snowmobiling. Plus it's fun to just play in it (I may be 20 but I will forever be a little kid at heart)
2) Waterfalls-we have some absolutely gorgeous waterfalls. Great scenery in the summer, and beautiful in the winter too
3) Foliage-sorry, I've seen the pictures of southern "foliage" and nothing beats New England. The colors are so bright and just awesome
4) NO SALES TAX-and lots of shopping outlets too. Some even at the base of mountains, so you're surrounded by great views while you're shopping
5)seacoast-so it's only 18 miles, but we do have a seacoast and it is beautiful. The ocean water is cold, but only for the first few minutes. Once you go numb it's a lot of fun

Georgia

It's not just for rednecks;)
Pollen capital of the world
It's a nice place to live but I wouldn't want to visit there
Stone Mountain is a very big rock
One of the highest bankruptcy/foreclusure rates in the nation
We're no longer 50th in education
Still haven't forgotten the Civil War
Filled with Yankees

On the bright side

Great housing market
Wonderful weather if you live through pollen season
Close to WDW
Great weather
The most beautiful spring ever
Thriving business

More for Illinois.

If you like the change of seasons, we're perfect, because you can often experiance all four of them in a single day.

Best corupt pollicticians in the country. They strike a fine balance of bilking the tax payer while still getting just enough done to keep said bilked taxpayers from voting them out of office.

The air pollution around Chicago can make for very nice sunsets.

Several differant accents, all in the same state.

We aren't Wisconsin. Or Indiana. :duck:

I'll do an Upstate NY pictorial. (I have way too much time on my hands. )

Loved hearing about Rhode Island and Connecticut -- I went there a couple of years ago and LOVED it! I also loved Maine...I hope someone will write about it on this thread! And to the person who posted the upstate NY pictoral, you've sold me!

Here are some things I love about HAWAII:

...driving around the island and having lunch at Pizza Bobs on the North Shore (although most people would say their favorite spot to stop is Matsumoto or Aoki Shave Ice)

...Lanikai Beach in Kailua

...Hawaiian food (lau lau, haupia, lomi salmon, chicken long rice, pineapple, and of course, poi!)

...being able to see the mountains and the ocean at the same time

...ethnic diversity (all aspects of it -- getting to know different people and cultures, as well as all the different types of food!)

...and I have to throw in one more...pies from Sunnyside Bakery!

:lmao: You live in Hawaii and love Connecticut??

Hawaii is one state you don't need to sell me on- just returned from Maui and I would move there if I did not have to leave my family and friends behind. I'm in  with Hawaii. I tried to bring the Hana Highway home with me but it doesn't pack well.
