Our Governor can beat your Governor?

New Jersey

The shore!
We know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.
Bruce Springsteen.
Bon Jovi.
Ian Ziering (ok, just kidding).
24-hour diners.
Jug handles.
Italian Restaurants (none of that Olive Garden crap).
No self-serve gas stations.
No matter where you live, you can be at a mall in 10 minutes.
We are radioactive and proud of it.

I love NJ! I don't know why people are down on it. It is a big road trip destination for me. Drive thru Safari? Heck yeah! Traction Park? Well, I made it out in one piece!:rotfl: I miss that place.

Kentucky:

1) Lowest dental bills in the country since we have no teeth.

OK-just kidding

1)Horses-everything from the Derby in Louisville to Keeneland in Lexington to the KY Horse Park along I75. Some of the most scenic farms in the country are located in Central KY.

2)Lake Cumberland-one of the largest inland lakes in the country when filled-unfortunately the dam is leaking and the water level is lower this year. Great relaxing weekends are found here in the summer.

3)Toyota-if the largest automaker in the world finds KY to be attractive enough to build it's largest plant here, it must not be that bad of a place. The tours are free too.

4)Location. location, location. Over half of the country's population lives within a days drive of central KY. If we don't have what you want here, it's not too far away. We have many scenic lakes and rivers, head east for mountains and hiking, head south and southwest for Dale Hollow and other lakes.

5)Louisville-has all of the big city amenities with a small town feeling. The zoo is nice, Six Flags has a park there, the Louisville Slugger museum is located downtown. Not a bad place to visit.

6)For the women, George Clooney was born here.

Do you think this is enough to get Billy Donovan back to Lexington where he belongs?

this, plus $3 million a year.... SURE! :cool1:

Yesterday (before the storms  ) reminded why I love springtime in Kentucky... all the trees in bloom, the grass is so green... I even got all teary-eyed as I took it all in. Stupid allergy attack. LOL.

Kansas/Missouri

I live in Kansas, but I am right on State Line road so my life is spent about 50/50 in Kansas and Missouri.

1.)Country Club Plaza
2.)Drive to Lake of the Ozarks for fun weekends in the summer!
3.)World's of Fun (haven't been myself in 10 years!)
4.)Ocean's of Fun (haven't been here in 12 years!)
5.)We're right in the middle so you can fly just about anywhere for not too much $$$

Wow! What a lame list. Maybe I should look into moving!

Florida

1) it doesn't snow
2) it's not New Hampshire (where I grew up)

ok seriously...

1) DISNEY WORLD
2) Sawgrass mils
3) South Beach
4) Shopping galore!
5) no snow (yep seriously lol!!!)
6) Orlando in general there is so much to do

OKLAHOMA! Where the wind goes sweeping down the plain!

1. We have minatures of everything. Mini-forests, mini-deserts, mini-mountains, mini-cities, mini-waterfalls, mini-white water rapids...You name it, there's a little of it here.

2. Tons of lakes all over the state.

3. Real Mexican food - We actually have people that sell door-to-door tamales in our neighborhood. Delish!

4. There is always some cool tornado damage to see nearby.

5. The people! Oklahomans are friendly and well-mannered, with a nice twang when they speak.

Pennsylvania

1) America started here!!! Probably will end here too!
2) If you are into UGLY trees...we got um!
3) LOTS of Wal Marts!
4) People seem to get way too excited over the silliest of reasons! Like the Garlic festival:woohoo: The news covers it for 3 days !(and its only 1 block long)
5) I LIVE HERE!:thumbsup2

1. It's cold
2. We have snow (and it's snowing now!)
3. We have colorful leaves
4. It's cold
5. We have snow (yes, it's still snowing)

Take out the colorful leaves part and replace with unbearable humidity for 3 months and you have Ohio. I am so glad I don't live there anymore.

I'd love to sell Ohio, but I can't find any buyers! :rotfl2:

Louisiana - Music!

Back up all 15 of rie's mom's spot-on list with the soundtrack of your choice...zydeco, jazz, swamp pop, southern rock, cajun, country, New Orleans funk, blues.... All from world-class local artists who can usually be found playing any given weekend at one of a multititude of festivals!

Ouch!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

New Jersey and you perfect together! Please remember that we have the Sopranos and Jimmy Hoffa resides at the Meadowlands!

:cool1:

Actually, just kidding. Unlike the typical New Yorker, I do like NJ. Just do NOT tell the other half that. We've been together for more than 16 years, and he's been bugging me about moving to NJ for 15.5 of them. BUT, now that same sex civil unions are legal in NJ, looks like I'm gonna be a Jersey boy sometime in the next couple (or few) years.

New York

I would love to sell it - I could live off the taxes I'd have to charge for a couple million lifetimes.;)

Oh, you mean SELL it - as in make someone WANT to live here?:rotfl:

1. Niagara Falls
2. New York City
3. Buffalo Wings Done Right
4. Long Island Beaches
5. Lake Erie
6. Lake Ontario
7. Adirondack Mountains
8. Catskills
9. Over the bridge and you're in a foreign country
10.I live here and who wouldn't want to live near someone as totally cool as me.:cool1: :rotfl:

Come on... there must be something to do in Texas.;) :listen:

Remember: people from Texas don't consider themselves a state...they are their own nation. ;) (I can only say that because I'm living there right now).

Texas:
1. Best big hair and rhinestone fashion in the whole, wide world
2. UT Longhorns rule!!! (unless you're an Aggie)
3. Schlitterbahn- best waterpark ever!!! (although you kind of stink from the "natural" spring for a day or two)
4. A little bit of everything--beach, big cities, little towns, ranches, and desert.
5. Ridiculously good Tex-Mex food in every town!
