They were everywhere yesterday. And the fact that signs barring them have to be posted all over... that says something about them. I totally understand wanting to take photos while visiting, etc... but these sticks, give me a break!
I was watching World of Color last night and there were tens of them just up in the air recording the whole thing. Why? Watch the show, create a memory to reflect on. How often will you actually watch these videos, World of Color or on the rides or whatever? Create the memory, remember it later and use it as fuel to want to go back. It, to me, makes it more magical to keep the image in my head along with the feeling I had.
My GF's son, who had never been on ToT, but had watched ride videos on youtube was blurting out all the "spoilers" of the pre ride show and exclaiming "oh! I know this!" and things like that. To me, that's no way to experience a ride for the first time. I'm sure people will have differing opinions to justify hundreds of videos being taken and found online of every nuance of every ride and part or every park. Anyhow, I'm turning this into a video rant rather than selfie stick rant but they do seem to go together.
