self parking at BC vrs valet

I plan to rent a car for my 4 nights at BC and 2 nights at GF. Do I have to valet park every time I go in and out? We usually use the car quite a bit, and all of that tipping gets expensive. Do they have a self park area? Can you valet it say when you first check in, and then self park later? I really don't want to spend 6.00 a day on parking, plus all the additional tip money. Please help, this is new for me.

There is indeed self-parking available at all the resorts. You can certainly valet park when you check in if you wish, but let them know that you just wish to park while you are checking in. We did this at AKL, and they told us where we could leave the car while we checked in. There was no charge for this. (We didn't leave the car with the valet, we moved it right after we unloaded the bags, checked in and went to our room.
