Selective coloring

I am sure this has been asked.. but have not found it, but can someone tell me how to do this? Right now i am trying out the Photoshop CS3, but i am pretty sure i will be getting the lastest version of Photoshop Elements.

and don't feel forced to run out and buy the latest version of whatever software. I am only running CS2 and other run older versions. I know about 13% of CS2, heheheheheee

in fact the second to newest version is usualy priced very attractively.

Ok, i got to where i can color 1 item in the picture, how do i get to do more items in 1 picture?
