Segway tour

Has anyone done the segway tour at EPCOT? Just curios we are doing it in october.....

I did it in September. It is a lot of fun. I'm trying to justify buying one. Really easy to operate and control, they make sure you are ready to ride before you leave the room. Have a ball......

bwvBound, could you tell me what date you have booked in December? I called recently and was told that many of the dates in December were blacked out.

We have a group of 4 adults confirmed for Tuesday, Dec 14th. I think we booked sometime in April??

Wow! They let you book 8 months ahead. When I called last month to book for February, they told me to call back in October.

Thanks, bwvBound, sounds like I need to call back on Monday! I had even asked about the first few days in January, but she said they wouldn't have the schedule until October. Did you make reserations through the "Disney Fun" phone number (don't have the actual number right in front of me)!!??

We did the Segway tour in July. It was alot of fun! You get a tour through the World Showcase before it opens to the public. Have fun

Hmmmm, this is the phone # (WDW-TOUR) that I used! Does anyone know if this number is manned on the weekends or will I have to wait until Monday. If December is booked solid, hopefully we will be able to get one of the days in January. Thanks for the information!

I did the Segway in Aug with my SIL. We loved it!! You start off a little leary.....then after a while things become much better.

Consider that if you lean forward you accelerate, and lean back you go in reverse....... So as they teach you how to go up and down a ramp you do get the idea that you gotta think first.....

After our tour they told us that they would be introducing a Segway tour II for those that had already atken the first. A little more speed, a little more 'advanced'. That would be a good thing, because into about the 90 min area, things did seem to become a little 'slow'.

Being in epcot before the crowds got there was a blast, and they did stop and rope off a small area to allow us to 'freestyle' some... But under supervision.

At the end of the tour, you get a really cool Disney pin....

We decided instantly that we wanted to do the tour after we found and watched the video in the page below (no affiliation to me...) But a GREAT Video... I even gave the cm's on the tour the link.

That would be very cool. The current Epcot tour is quite enjoyable and I highly recommend it but, if you're fairly coordinated, you'll probably be yearning to go a bit faster by the end.

The Segway store in Celebration also has a rental/tour program. I think it's around $40/hour. If you can demonstrate proficiency I believe they'll let you use the other keys that allow the device to go faster.

We took it in July and had a blast. I want one so bad. I'm having hip replacement surgery sometime in the next year and I want one sooooo bad! It was so much better than a wheelchair. I also wonder how many pictures we are in. As we were heading back from the World Showcase, the cameras were clicking! I would do it again in a minute.

We did it in May and loved it. Would definately do it again!

What is the price of the tour? What are my chances to book this for our trip Oct 8-12?

We did it in March - it had only been in operation for a few weeks at that point. About an hour of instruction and another hour riding around WS - in line behind the instructor. It was fun. Surprisingly, it's hard to stand flat-footed on that thing for an hour. Your feet really get tired!

They don't tolerate shenanigans! We had one guy in our group who was trying to do little wheelies and stuff and he got two warnings. They had told us at the start that they would warn first, and then send you packing if you didn't stop.

We also did the tour in May when we went to Member Homecoming. It was a terrific time! The 2 hours flew by. I hope they do add another tour for folks who have done the first one. We would sign up in a minute!
