Our first day in Orlando (2 days before wedding)
Early wake up call, 5:15 am to be precise. Took a shower, got dressed, zipped up the luggage and put it in Chris's Uncle's truck. Took 35 minutes to get to the Dallas airport and then we were there. Since I had already checked us online the day before, I went to the express kiosk to print the luggage tags, but it didn't ask us for it so we got into the regular line. Waited, and waited and the people behind the counter would ask for people going to Atlanta at 7:30, so even though we were the next people in line we waited at least 10 minutes. This is when my stomach got bad, and I had to go, like then! FINALLY, we are allowed to get our luggage checked, the lady checked our IDs and then about 3 minutes later she asked for Chris's ID again and said since he was in the military she'd give us a complimentary upgrade for his contribution. AWESOME, first class, oh yeahhh. We sit down, and luckily enough were able to put the dress and tuxedo in the overhead bin without any problems from other people, so yeah again. So, I'm sitting in this huge *** chair and noticed that I felt like I was slowly starting to get in a lie down position, what do you know, my first time in first class and my hair is broken! So, that put a little damper on that awesomeness.
While Chris was sleeping on the plane I dug into the Airtran Magazine and there was an article about getting married or weddings or something to that effect, and all of a sudden I had strange feelings. Cold feet maybe, that, am I sure this is what I want to do? Am I sure he's the one for me? I mean he forgot to pack the wedding hats today, forgot to put Napoleon Dynamite in the suitcase, forgot to pack his jacket, am I destined to be with the person who forgets everything. And then I started to feel bad for feeling this way. I mean, seriously, we've been together 5 years, if I didn't think he was the one I would have known by now. Not to mention he did Disney just for me because he knows I love it so much. He's been a really good sport about it and I have no idea why I got those feelings. I think it's stemming from my lack of closure from Truman, I need to get that squared away.
Got to Orlando, picked up the baggage and headed to the Disney Welcome Center to board the bus to the resort. Went off without a hitch. Made it to the airport and check in and our room was ready early and was in the themed hotel I wanted for Chris (the football!) which is right next ot everything and has it's own field and was just exciting. I was happy to see that we also had a king size bed compared to the two beds we were supposed to have. We had lunch at the hotel, swam and then went to Downtown Disney.
The day before the wedding followed by the wedding day
Yesterday was quite a day. First off we got up and went outside of our hotel to take pictures around the huge sports things and what do you know, neither of us brought a room key so we got locked out right before checkout. Went all the way to the lobby to get a new key and to check out. Walked all the way back out and had our luggage and dress and tuxedo moved to the new hotel, the Beach Club. The nice luggage man also called us a taxi and we went to get the marriage license. The 13-mile drive to the Osceloa County Courthouse was $40, jesus christ! Then we had to drop $100 for that marriage license so we lost a good chunk of money on nothing! So, we get the license and call the taxi service back to pick us up, this was at 10:45. 11:30, they still weren't there, Chris called them and the person on the phone said no one had picked up the call yet but they would tell someone. 11:50, still no taxi, so I bailed and called my parents and there daddy showed up in the rental unit at 12:30. How he managed to get there I have no idea, since he hasn't been there either but alas he saved us. That whole time Chris and I were waiting, we were sitting in the sun, and dumb me, not paying attention got a HUGE farmers tan on my arms. Oh yeah, I was a little tomato last night. I then used the fake tanning lotions and it didn't even it out like I wanted and my fingernails were orange for today, yick! Anywho..
So, my dad dropped Chris and I off at our new hotel, the Beach Club, and just driving up to it, it looks like a hotel. Whoa. A light blue color and light green color in different parts, with this aura of richness. Like, we looked rich! So, I go up to the desk and give them our name and she said and you are checking out tomorrow and I said yes, however, we were technically going to "recheck in" for our land/sea vacation, and were we going to be in the same room. She checked the computer and said no. I then told her that we were getting married tomorrow (today, hehe) and that I had to give the cosmetology people my room number. She said the room we were to have tonight on was currently occupied but she could give us the room next to that one and then we could change today. I said our wedding was this morning at 11, and she was like ohhhh, hold on. She went to the back and she found a room we could have the whole time, and get this, out of ALLLLLL the rooms in this hotel, there are only 10 rooms with king beds which cost extra each night, and she gave us one of them free of charge :O :O :O
Chris and I walked up to the room, ooohin and aaahing everywhere we walked, took the elevator found the room, opened it and it was/still is, AMAZING. It has a full balcony with table and chairs, overlooks a garden, has two separate closets, all these cute little lamps and even lamps in the bathroom along with overhead lights. Has a couch, coffee table, chair, fridge, and while this may not seem like much, for Disney it is. Our first hotel, had, um, a bed, hehe. Our cell phones kept ringing off the hook and then we went into the massive pool. The Beach Club has a sister resort which is connected called the Yacht Club and they share a 3 acre pool which is almost like a waterpark place. Has a whirl pool, lazy river, shallow, deep, water slides, sand on the bottom, kids can play polo, build sand castles or just chill in the waterfalls or hot tubs or the secluded little areas. We had a great time there. Headed off to dinner at the flagship deluxe resort on property with all the family. It went off greatly and the final bill was over $600 for 14 people including 2 kids, jesus christ! I couldn't believe it.
Today, the HUGE day. I woke up fine, showered and blow dried my hair like I was supposed to and then my hairstylist showed up. He did my hair in a semi-1950s curly thing and put my tiara on and then I got dressed. The limo picked us up and we made it to the Gazebo area. The photographer took these photos of me that will probably look really cheesy since I didn't feel good about them, but ah well. Then we were on the boardwalk and the Gazebo was right there but I couldn't see it yet. My dad started to walk me over and I was panicing inside. I wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do right now, or what have you and was just a ball of nerves. We got the aisle, and I heard my Canon in D (my fave) and was all choked up, as was my dad and I made it to the aisle where everyone was smiling and I saw Chris and he looked so cute. The reverand started the ceremony and asked who gave us away or somethign to that effect and my dad said him and my mom and you could hear the tears in his voice, made me sad. We then turned and faced eachother starting to vows and I lost it. Tears were streaming down my voice and Chris didn't tear up at all! He was supposed to, not me! We said I do, and voila it was done. We had our toast and I shivered when that wine went down (hahah, don't like) and then our wedding planner gave us the wedding license signed by Mickey and Minnie and then something I was totally not expecting, matching his and hers gold and silver FairyTale Wedding watches! They are sooooo cute and I wore mine today and was so happy. The lunch reception went real well too!
After all the wedding and reception I went back up to the hotel room to change and I had left out my wedding ears and when I came in the maid had placed the cap on the ,bed really cute, and in the bathroom had confetti around and little hearts, it was so cute! Chris and I checked in for the cruise so we are ready for this Sunday and then put our "Just Married" wedding ear hats on and went to Epcot! The minute we walked through ticketing a cast member came up to us with buttons. Mine said "Walt Disney Resort Congratulates you on your wedding" and had a picture of Mickey and Minnie in wedding attire, and Chris's said "Congratulations" and had the whole Mickey crew on it. We rode two rides where we were given our own boats, with no one else in them, and then on one ride that had a 40 minute wait, the guy gave us a "fast pass" for right then and there and we got to go on the ride right then and not wait 40 minutes! Amongst all this TONS of people were congratulating us and the most touching one was the guy working a booth that sold funnel cakes. He had Downs Syndrome and stumbled on congratulating us but was sooooo happy and thrilled and it was really touching. We received a lot of advice from people too, hehe. Chris sure does look cute with a wedding band on too!
