Security tags on clothing--customer rant!

Short story long, I take my purchase to the counter at JC Penney to pay for them and engage in a lovely conversation with the store associate.

It was such a lovely conversation that she forgot to remove the security tags from the JNCO shorts I bought my boys! And I didn't bother to notice that they weren't being removed!

Half the time, I think these round heavy tags are for show, because I simply walked right out of the store.

Nobody chased me down, no warning lights flashed, no sirens sounded. I simply walked out.

Now I have to make a special trip back to the mall to have these blasted things removed!

No you don't they are easy to remove (same thing happened to me)
Get a regular screwdriver (not phillips head) and put it between the plastic where the piton is and smack down hard on a flat hard surface. It'll come apart very easily. It didn't do any damaga to the clothing when I did it.

Oooh. This is so frustrating. I have had it happen at JC Penney's too. It was a pair of pants for my son that he needed to wear that night and the store was about 30 miles round trip.... So had to go back. I think the heavy round tags are ink tags that will explode ink if you try and take them off without that remover thing.
The salesperson was so appologetic when I went back it was hard to stay mad I try and check now, before I leave the store.

It sounds like those were ink tags, not the electronic tags.

They're designed so that they will spill ink and ruin the clothes if you try to take them off yourself.

Yep I have had that happen more than once. In fact it happened a couple of weeks ago. The alarm went off when I went into a bookstore.

Another time it happened, and this is embarassing, I went back to the store a few days later to get the tags off. Guess what? I didn't have the receipt with me!
So here I am in the store with a couple pair of pants that look like they haven't been purchased yet AND no receipt!
I paid with a credit card so she says she can look up the purchase. I say great. She finds one pair but cannot locate the other on her register so she only takes the tag off the one pair and I said...I bought these pants & I will come back with a receipt. So I left with the pants looking like I stolen them.

Yes, they are the ink tags, so I have to take them back to have them removed! And fortunately, I saved the receipt!

I've had the same thing happen ALWAYS at JCPenney, it's so frustrating!!

I had that happen a few times with the ink tags. Let's just say they ARE easy to take off at home but I won't share the details here
