Hi,
Does anyone know if the security lines at MCO are any longer now with the Bin Laden thing? I am a bit concerned the day we fly back all SW flights to BWI are sold out and am wondering if we need to arrive at MCO more than our usual 2 hrs ahead of flight time. 2 Hrs has always given us plenty of time for car rental return, luggage check in and security. We leave tomorrow (wahoo!) and come back next Thursday, May 12.

I don't know about the lines recently but I wanted to say that we were pleasantly surprised by our experience on Easter Sunday. The TSA people were nice! The last few times we flew the people were very terse and impatient. We had a nice, quick trip through security this time.

Good luck!

It's funny that you say that :-). I've always thought the MCO TSA was much nicer and even smile once in a while compared to BWI TSA. Thanks!

Folks on FlyerTalk are not reporting significant increases in wait times or further increases in security hassle this week. Some have seen more TSA agents around, but no "new" measures seem to be going into effect for this news.

Thanks, Ironz! We'll keep to our 2 hr min timeframe and hopefully be good to go. It's only DH and I so not as much to go through the lines. I think it's just going to be another crazy day at MCO next week.

Just flew home from MCO today. We arrived at the drop off for our rental car at 12:30. Our flight was at 2:40 and was on time. We dropped off the car and checked our bags in at SW. I stopped at the Disney Store for a couple things then we headed for security. I'd say total for security took 15 minutes and nothing out of the ordinary. Headed to our gate and had about 30 minutes before we started boarding for our flight. We moved at a leisurely pace and didn't feel rushed.

Wonderful! Thanks! We jsut arrived here! No problems at BWI at all. Actually we didn't even get selected for the body scan machines, just the old system you walk through.

Glad to hear that things are running smoothly for everyone. :thumbsup2

I fly down next week, can't wait.

I flew home from MCO on Tuesday and it wasn't too bad. Maybe 10 minutes in security, if that, and I got randomly selected to have my hands swabbed.

We had an early flight Monday 5/2 and had not yet heard about the Bin Laden story. Philly airport was fine (security lines crowded even at that early hour - 5:30 am - but otherwise okay). We also noted no differences at MCO.

I flew out of Orange Co on Friday morning, no security changes, no line.

Lines at MCO on Saturday were long as usual--but they moved about as well as they usually do.
So I guess I'm saying we didn't notice anything different:)

I flew from ROC-ORD (O'Hare/Chicago) the day after the announcement and didn't notice any difference.

Just got back yesterday. You won't believe it! Went through MCO security about 10 am(ish). We had 4 people in front of us then one of the TSA waved us through another line right through the metal detectors. I have never seen it so uncrowded there. The entire airport didn't seem busy at all.

Great trip! So sad it's over and ready to start planning our fall trip.
