Security Bag check Suggestion!

Another idea is to just bring a camera case. Ours is really small (maybe 3X4 max) and was easy for me to carry. DH kept my licence in his wallet with his room key, insurance card, and debit card... and we kept the other room key in the camera case. Everything was sent back to the room unless we were about to leave the park. That way we weren't carrying much.

Another thing, if you travel a lot and worry about someone stealing your licence and not having any ID, also get a state issued ID. We have both (usually I carry my DH's and he carries mine since I look about 16 and still get carded for alcohol ALL the time). That is nice to have just in case.

I think it is a great idea if it works all the time. But I agree on the privacy issue. I always carry extra socks and undies as like to "freshen" up mid-day.

A friend told me she carried a mesh bag into WDW for that reason as well, but the guard still took the time to go through her small make-up bag, her camera case, and she also had to open her wallet. So it could be hit and miss.

Personally, I'd rather they took as much time as necessary to avoid any potential problems later on. If you've got nothing to hide, you'll have nothing to worry about!

Why do they only check your bags? Shouldn't they make you empty your pockets also. You never know what one has in there.

Ok, so I've read on the boards about the crystal light individual serving lemonade packets for the water bottles. So if I'm not supposed to bring in outside food, but I have to go through security, how do I get my lemonade into the world? Would that be a problem?

The other stuff, I'm not worried about. I use a fanny pack and will have my camera case, I certainly don't mind them looking through that...just curious about my lemonade.

My experience is they don't really care about food except at AK. One day that was a real problem (rumor was the day before someone had thrown some stuff into one of the animal areas).

I also don't like clear backpacks. People don't need to see my wallet, cell phone, pager, camera, hygene items, etc. I sometimes carry an extra shirt or pair of socks. My backpack has also been used to carry around small purchases

In general, the guards just look into the bags - maybe moving stuff around to see the bottom. It is not an exhaustive search and seems to be more of a make people feel good thing. They don't check pockets, coats, etc. Nor do they seem to exhaustively search strollers.

I found the more prepared and corporative you were - the faster it was.

I would never put a wallet in a backpack! Too easily stolen.

Dh carries his wallet with me id in his pants. I leave my wallet in the safe at the room.

Pembo - you make a good point about wallets in knapsacks. I always keep mine there. I guess I just don't think abuot pickpockets at Disneyworld, but then you never know.

I have never understood my need to carry my full wallet to WDW but I do. Why do I need my sears card there anyway?

Hmmm...I may have to re-think this.....
