"Secret" rooms on Dream and Fantasy

A couple of weeks ago, I came across a thread that was recommending some good rooms on Dream and Fantasy. These rooms had something special about them… Like a great location for a lower price, a certain shape, or something that made these rooms highly desirable.

(For example, I am familiar with a room type on a different cruise line that has French doors that open to give you fresh air and a peek of sun, but it is billed as an inside room because the French doors butt up to the lifeboats.)

Of course, I had thought I subscribed to that thread so I could read it later but now it is nowhere to be found. Guess I'll start from square one!

Are there any recommendations for these "secret" type rooms on the dream and/or fantasy?

I know that room 7506 (and perhaps a sister room on the port side) is a category 9A, but it has the large porthole with window seating akin to the category 8 rooms. I don't think it's as big, though. Somewhere in between. I haven't seen it (but I have it booked on the Fantasy for July 4 2015).

I should say I don't think the ROOM is as big as a cat 8 (however, the porthole is the same size as the large porthole in cat 8 rooms).

My wife and I have booked 8006 on the Fantasy this fall. Its all the way forward on the corner and from what we have read it is HUGE. About 1.5 times the size of a normal room in that category.

We are a lil concerned about the motion being that far forward but the room size makes up for it.

I don't think the Dream and Fantasy have anything "special" like the secret porthole rooms on the Magic/Wonder. Or anything that has them priced lower category.

We had room 7506 and can attest to the large windowseat porthole even though it is a 9A. The room itself is the same size as other 9As.

Category 8A rooms on the Dream/Fantasy are large, more "squarish" rooms. Square footage may or may not be the same as other cat8's but the squareness makes them popular. Some have a post in the center, others have a divider wall; there is a post that describes these rooms. All are similarly designed as accessible staterooms, but for whatever reason(s) were not officially classified as such. But they may have roll-in shower, single bath (no tub, no split bath). There also aren't very many of these rooms onboard.

There are some popular rooms on the Dream/Fantasy with oversized verandahs. You can see these on the deck plan.

Not sure of any other special or unique rooms...

I've been looking for a thread with a list of stateroom numbers and pictures of the extra large verandahs. Maybe someone will know where it is and post a link.

We have 5552 booked on the Dream. It is a wheelchair accessible room (which makes it bigger than normal) and is said to be one of the biggest cabins in the ship. it is a Cat 4E Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Oversized Veranda.
