Had my interview with one of the instructors of the nurses aide program at 9 am today. I had been sweating this, since I haven't job hunted or anything in a long while.

Suppose to take 30 minutes. I left in less than 15. Answered the questions she had right, chatted a bit and that was it. The class starts on 2/14, but I was one of the first ones she saw. Only 10 can make this class. Guess I'll know soon enough!

Since I got out early, I went to Social Security since they had sent me the form for the online application I did for death benefits. They said I had no minor kids and then the bottom gives you all the perjury warnings.

So I went in, praying for no line or a real short wait. I didn't even have to stop at the security guard!! He had a number printed out for me and then the lady called me right up. Got the paperwork question answered, said she didn't see where I had applied for survivor benifits for the kids. Let her know that the already had accounts under his disibility one. She found them, let me know what I am getting, (which shocked me to no end!!) and then said that it looked like they had paid the kids $100 -200 a month each less than they should have. She is going to send an alert to the payment branch, but it could take 30 - 45 business days to get them to respond.

OK, even $100 a month for nearly 3 years?! . That would be so sweet! Not saying that it will happen, but it would so help!

BUT.....They are really big flakes and just floating down really slowly. I decided it looks like "Disney Snow" Now, Where's Mickey???

That is so true.... Have not seen anything on train problems, but sometimes they don't post it until I am already at the train station!

My fingers are crossed for you. The 70/270 closure made the news here. I saw a lot of my friends from HS posting about it on FB and then it was on the news later even up here. Hopefully no one has to deal with that again.

Kat, so glad the day went smoothly! And I'll keep my fingers crossed that SS gets those funds to you quickly! You know if they had overpaid they would want it back right away, so they SHOULD, but we all know how the government works.

Dog's birthday is today....she's 4.

Going to try to finish up everything for my mom's party.....shopping, and organizing. 3 day workweek next week.

Thursday is mom's 80th, I'm getting a cat scan done to see how everything is going. Friday will be my cookday.

Here's what I'm thinking about:

Taco dip (same one I made at my house), veggies and dip, chips, and pretzels

Chic Fil A nuggets
3 different types of mini wraps, ham & cheese, turkey & cheese, roast beef & cheese (made by local grocer)
some type of meatballs made by sil

garden salad, mac & cheese, cucumber salad, pasta salad, ramen noodle slaw, and potato soup (to have something warm). All made by me.

birthday cake, and other desserts.

What do you think?

sounds good to me, Mary. I've been researching birthday party ideas for Meagan. Ugh, what a crazy thing! There are a TON of party places, etc for little kids, but not a lot for 13!

Hire an older girl to come over to your house and give them Manicures and pedicures. Order Pizza, cake and ice-cream and pop in a movie. They will be in heaven!
