Me too. Chocolate chip or thin mints, please!
My Christmas tree is still up. :rolleyes1
Mine is undecorated, but still standing. Working on finishing that as well as the train platforms tomorrow. I LOVE putting so much up, but it takes so long to get it all down.
Dog's birthday is today....she's 4.

Going to try to finish up everything for my mom's party.....shopping, and organizing. 3 day workweek next week.

Thursday is mom's 80th, I'm getting a cat scan done to see how everything is going. Friday will be my cookday. :wizard:
Happy Birthday to Zoe and Mom! Hope the cat scan results are good:grouphug:
Here's what I'm thinking about:

Taco dip (same one I made at my house), veggies and dip, chips, and pretzels

Chic Fil A nuggets
3 different types of mini wraps, ham & cheese, turkey & cheese, roast beef & cheese (made by local grocer)
some type of meatballs made by sil

garden salad, mac & cheese, cucumber salad, pasta salad, ramen noodle slaw, and potato soup (to have something warm). All made by me.

birthday cake, and other desserts.

What do you think?
Sooo.....what time should i be there and what should I bring?:rotfl:
Ugh a Hotel without a microwave or a fridge :scared1:

Well we are back from visiting my Dad and Aunt Pat down in Mission, Texas....

First off, my Aunt is in ok spirits. She does not leave her house, she does not go anywhere or do anything but go to the Dr Appointments. She is recovering fine from the surgery, but she is not motivated to do anything. The surgeon told her to move around and walk and build back some energy but no one can get her to do anything.

They removed the baseball size tumor from her colon, and the 8 inches of colon. The spots on her liver and lungs turned out to be Apple sized spots on her liver and lungs. they will not remove them because they are on the front and back of her liver and front side of her lung.

It was confirmed that it was Ovarian Cancer and she did have a complete hysterectomy 26 years ago. The Surgeon said that the cancer seed was planted prior to the hysterectomy and became active cancer about 3 years ago.

2 years ago she was scheduled for a colonoscopy, but the Dr could not get past a "Kink" in her colon. The kink was the cancer. The surgeon said if they had looked better at why they could not perform the colonoscopy she would be 2 years ahead of where she is now.

She will be taking chemotherapy, starting Wednesday, and it will last for 9 weeks. The Nurses and Dr.'s think that she will recover and be healthy. My Uncle and Father are very worried about her because she has lost 30 pounds since the operation and will not get up and do anything. She is 5'7" and down to 95 pounds. She promised me that she would get up and do things but I hate to see everyone so scared and worried.

She is the oldest of my Father's siblings and they all have had cancer now and she is the only girl.

Secondly, there was no warm weather! The high was 60 degrees on one day and the rest was upper 40's and low 50's while we were there, and everyone blamed us for bringing in the cold front. I never saw the sunshine.

Our planes were delayed last night and when we landed at BWI around 1 AM we skidded on the runway from all of the ice and scared a bunch of people on the plane. We got a 1/4 inch of ice which makes for a rough drive home.

But we are here and doing well.

Just an update on my Aunt Pat....

She had her first round of Chemo this past week and did ok, she started at 10AM and did not finish until 8 PM, she ate almost the whole time she was there which was a good sign, she has not eaten much since she found out.

The morning after the chemo treatment she was bleeding and had to go back in and they found another growth, this one about the size of a forefinger and they removed it and the Dr. thinks that it was part of the cancer, we will get results back this Wednesday. She got sick to her stomach while in the hospital and is back to not eating.

I am really worried about her and praying that she will regain her strength and have a full recovery.

 Brandi!! Thanks so much for the update. Continuing to keep your family in our prayers!

Keep on chatting....it won't take too long.

sounds good to me, Mary. I've been researching birthday party ideas for Meagan. Ugh, what a crazy thing! There are a TON of party places, etc for little kids, but not a lot for 13!

I like PD's idea. My nieces all just do sleepovers for their birthdays.

Got some good news over the weekend. Not sure if you all remember me talking about my friend that has the 7 y.o twin sons and one of them had liver problems? He was born w/ a liver disease. Last year he had a living donor transplant and it didn't take. Just before Christmas he had another transplant. Well this past week they were finally able to wean him off the ventilator. He still needs some help breathing, but is doing well. Next issue is learning how to walk again.

He is making history its my understanding no one has ever had a double liver transplant in the same year. He's such an awesome kid please keep Sam in your prayers!
