Does anyone know when the Seaworld sale is officially taking place? I'm planning a disney trip the end of January with day trips to Universal and Seaworld. I've already purchased my Universal passes but have been holding off on Seaworld. Do you think it's safe to go ahead with buying passes now??

:confused3

Are you talking about disney buying Seaworld??? If you are, is it official yet?? I've been reading the board and haven't heard anything???

I think they're just asking whether the tickets purchased today would still be valid in January 2009.... ;)

I'd wait, but that's just me. I'm sure it would be fine to go ahead and buy, though. I'd be more concerned about significant changes in operation hours rather than an outright closure (buy-out or not.)

Your right. I was just checking to see what anyone else thought of purchasing these passes so far in advance. I'm not sure who is purchasing Sea World yet. Just hearing the rumors and keep checking. I'd love to go but I am concerned about the possibility of everything changing before we get there.

Thanks for your responses!

The sale of Busch to Inbev isn't even official yet,I would have no problem with getting the tickets now.I wouldn't be surprised if it's mid 2009 before we hear if Inbev will be selling the park and to whom.I would probably put Disney third or fourth in line of the potential companies that will buy the parks. There are 10 Busch parks out there, nobody knows if they are going to be sold all together or not.

According to the employees I talk to at Sea World San Antonio, there's something going on in November when the deal will be finanlized or some type of contract signing will be taking place. The takeover will begin in January; employees at the hospitality house do not know what's going to be happening just yet. They are on the edge of their seats as they probably won't know their fate, if any, until November/December. To us, they are like family so hopefully the new owners will keep them and put them to work on whatever the hospitality house is transformed to, although I'd like to see it remain a Beer School-type of place.

I would imagine that tickets purchased now will still be honored after the sale.

About a month ago I emailed SeaWorld and they said that all tickets are good for 1 year from the day they were purchased. I'm sure that even if they sale next week, they are going to honor the tickets that are out.

Darn, I read the OP all wrong. I thought it was saying that in January tickets would be discounted. That was exciting because we'll be visiting SW in January.
