Seaworld Passport questions

I am looking at buying the Seaworld passports this year as 4 of us want to go to Discovery Cove for the first time and we will save about $130 each with the current deal.

However, I have read a few threads about the Passports starting on the day they are purchased, not activated-does anyone know if this is the case? Also, as we are saving around £120 on the Discovery Cove tickets, the Passport does seem worthwhile but not sure whether we should both get one or just get one between us? We want the Seaworld and Aquatica pass and probably will only need it for 1 year as we're going this Nov and next Oct/Nov.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

When we bought ours it was on first entry to the park.
Some good savings to be made with the passport.

It used to be pay upfront and they were activated on entry but pay on EZpay and activated on purchase. The ones we have now are on EZpay but did it in the passport office as we were going into the park so that does not help you, sorry.
