Anyone found a way around this? :confused3

The Disney website has been doing it for several years but now the SeaWorld website has started doing this too

So frustrating
There is very little actual information available (show times etc), just seems like a vehicle to sell tickets in £ rather than $ :furious:

How are we meant to find out this information in advance if we can no longer access the full website?
:furious:

You can get a SW app which has show times etc if that's any help?

Unfortunately not at the moment, but I'm hoping to get an iPad in the next month or so, so this will be on my list of apps to download! Thanks :)

My anti-virus/firewall program doesn't like that - it's blocked it as being 'dangerous', the message is that 'this website can transmit malicious software or has been involved in online scams or fraud' :confused3

your firewall does its job, because a proxy is a third party site. It will act as a "middle man" between you and the site you want to visit.

Let me give you an example.

You want to contact someone in the US but you can't do so directly.
You need to contact an operator (the proxy) which will establish the connection.
The trick that you will not be directly linked to the person (or website) you want to contact in the US.
So in order to do this, you'll have to first tell the proxy, and that proxy will then repeat your "sentences" (or clicks) to the person (website) you need to contact;

The website you want to contact will believe that you're in the US, because it's a US proxy that will request the pages. But the downside of this system is that, if you give your credit card detail, login, password or any personnal information, those informations will, at some point, be known by the proxy.
Those informations might, or might not be logged by the proxy.

So, using such a proxy is highly insecure.
It's harmless if you don't give any personnal information (only use it to browse a website) but if you should need to give personnal information (be it only to fill your name or email adress) then you never know who might be listening in.

that's why you're blocked by your firewall, because proxies *can* be used for scams and fraud

but in any event, never give credit card, bank detail, or passwords through an anonymous proxy

Thank you, you've explained that very clearly and it all makes perfect sense.

I emailed SeaWorld about this problem and have received a reply apologising for 'technical problems being experienced by UK visitors to the website'

Now able to access all information as before :)

Thanks for posting I've not been able to get on for ages, and wouldn't even have tried again if I hadn't read your post!

hi, i also had this email and can now get back on it, can also get onto the us disney site as well :)

I had the same problem just before we left when trying to buy the Busch Gardens tickets from the US site - I ended up calling them and paying over the phone as it was cheaper to buy in dollars than pounds.

It is a pain!
