From what I have seen it appears that the seating at the Luau is on long tables where everone sits together-- not individual tables for each family--is this correct???

And if so, how does the family style meal service work? Are there just communal bowls to pass along to everyone, or do they provide individual "family size" portions to each seperate group? Can you ask for more?

Does that make sense?

I have the worlds worst luck and am now imagining that we are lumped in with a group of chow hounds that prevent us from getting a decent serving! I think I shouldn't have read the "tacky things seen at buffets thread". The story of the couple "stealing" the pretzel bread at Biergarten now has me worried! :sad2: And I really just prefer not be at the mercy of a table's worth of strangers to feed my children (and myself!).

When we went in october we went to the luau on a whim. So we were sitting more towards the back. I'm pretty sure it's the same on each level, but ours was long tables(well, smaller tables in a row), but with small gaps between parties, and each party got their own food. So it's family style with your own family.

There are long tables and you do sit with other families unless your put in the way back. However, you get your own large plate of food that your family shares, and you have to order drinks seperatley.
