Where can I find up to date prices for the buffets....I am trying to figure out where we are eating AND if we should just pay OOP or use a combination of QSDP and TIW. Wherever I look I seem to find pricing like $15.99 - $35.99...BIG difference!

Specifically looking at the first week of August and Cape May Dinner, Trails End Dinner, Trails End Breakfast, and the Crystal Palace buffets.

Thanks.

The best thing to do is to call the dining line and ask the price for the specific restaurant on your specific dining date.

Go to allearsnet.comThey have most of the restaurants prices. That is how I figured my tip envelopes prior to going to eat:)

I finally gave up and called Disney Dining like vickie c suggested. We have the Dining Plan but are paying OOP for several breakfasts so I called and got the prices for each restaurant.

Are you sure that the price range you are seeing isn't for kids and adults? I didn't think there were seasonal prices on buffets that would be that big of a difference. I could be wrong, though.

Right those prices quoted cover from the lowest to the highest possible price, for all the meals they serve (breakfast thru dinner). But since Disney doesn't release the seasonal increase dates for OOP dining any longer, there's no way to know if your meal is going to be $28.99 or $32.99 on a particular day without calling and asking.

Allears and wdwinfo can't really keep up with the current menu prices perfectly, especially with the seasonal thing added in - sometimes allears has the seasonal increased price listed but they don't get it changed back once the peak time is over (or vice versa).

Here is my thread that lists 2011 buffet prices during peak season. Just deduct $4.00/adult plus tax and $2.00/child plus tax to get non-peak season.

All Ears is frequently wrong, and they don't change prices back after peak season has ended, so their listed prices for buffets is very problematic:

Hope this helps, Tiger

Actually, the displayed prices on the WDW web site are even less useful than that. They just reflect which "category" the restaurant falls into, of which there are essentially 4:

1 - less than $15 (counter service)
2 - $15 - $35.99 (most casual sit-down places)
3 - $36 - $59.99 (mostly signature spots and the more popular character meals)
4 - Viki & Al's

Those prices have caused so much misunderstanding here in the DIS. People will see "$36 - $59.99" for dinner at Chef Mickey's, and they think it means the children/adult price. This, of course, leads to panic over the idea of paying 70 bucks per adult with tax & tip, when the actual cost is far less - though still expensive.

Then there are the unofficial web sites that may or may not display tax-included prices, and may or may not include the seasonal surcharge. (Not ragging on them - they do their best, but it's a huge job.)

And while one might think that calling WDW would be the final word, there's no way to be sure even then that you're getting correct information.

It shouldn't be this difficult, but it is.

I did not realize that ranges covered categories of meals. I have generally given up on figuring it out in advance. We just go where we want and suck it up and pay.
