Season 7 of 'The Next Food Network Star' stars tonight at 9pm!

It'll be on again in two hours :) Actually, an hour and 43 minutes by the time I finish typing this... but if you really really can't wait: Mary Beth.

GMTA, Amy!

But we 'knew' the person sent home this week would be, well, the person sent home this week ;).

I have a feeling I know who's going next - not a spoiler, they said at the end of tonight's episode that someone's leaving after the camera challenge next week - so the final competition, the "cook your show" challenge, will be a head to head between just two finalists.
I predict:
Jeff
and
Susie
Same instructions as Amy gave - highlight the 'blank' lines for names.

i thought it was ridiculous that they were trying to come up with negatives with the other person in the "bottom" two. puh-lease. like there was any chance at all that they'd send that person home. :rolleyes1

This is my first time watching Next Food Network Star, and since I'm a "Survivor" junkie, I was intrigued to see the previews for next week. Does the "jury" on TNFNS have any vote as to who the winner will be? I know the judges have the final say (after all, their necks are on the line if the winner's show is a flop), but the preview made it look like the folks who were sent home come back for the final vote, ala Survivor.

Oh, Kaytieeldr - I agree with your prediction for the final 2. And my money is on this person to be the winner: Jeff

Oh Penny there are so many words I could use;) But I don't want any points. I do not think they should let her come back for the "Jury" She was so unhelpful in the battle.

To the PP who said they didn't like 2 out the 3, why? could explain for each of the 3. Hopefully we can all give a summary of the three.

Exactly this...

And this. :thumbsup2

I don't care for the 2 of them. I like the one that people are predicating will win, and I hope he/she does.

Does anyone but me think that no matter the final outcome of this show...that Mary Beth could be the next Alton Brown? They seem to love her. And need a female counterpart to Alton, someone to stand in on IC when needed. I think she'd be great! :goodvibes

I absolutely believe that Mary Beth has some kind of future with the Food Network, and I think you found a place for her.

Oh, absolutely. When one of the roasters last week said her show should be called Food Aficionado, they nailed it. Mary Beth knows a lot, even if much of her food didn't impress the judges. She absolutely has an imminent future on the Cooking Channel.

Can you spell sabotage?? P- E- N- N- Y Man did she show her true colors or what. The reunion show looks fun. Bobby asking Penny about being the villain popcorn:: I'm not excited about anyone to tell you the truth. The only show I really like lately is Dessert First with Ann Thorton. Its original and the recipes are awesome. I'm getting burnt out on Bobby, Paula, Giada , Rachel and Guy. They each have about 30 shows. I've been watching DIY more and more (bang for your buck and bathtastic) .

I would have LOVED for them to have said something to Penny during the show AS IT WAS HAPPENING. That woman is so unbelievable! Alton should have nailed her to the wall.

I'll be okay either way I guess... I don't care for Susie's personality and they commented on that this week FINALLY. But I'm sure I'd love her food.

I'm pulling for the guys though.

I think if Mary Beth's food was better it would have been a bigger issue. The judges knew what Penny was doing.

The only one I will watch of the remaining 3 is Jeff. I don't find Vic's POV very interesting--it seems forced. And so does Suzie.

I love Vic - but I think he is adapting his POV to be what the judges want him to be. They like him too, but I think not enough to make him the winner.

I hope beyond hope they see through Susie. She wants to be a celebrity??? Uh, no. You work your way up to that. Having your own cooking show doesn't make you a celebrity, it makes you the host of a cooking show. There are a dozen people, at least, on FN that I wouldn't recognize if I literally bumped into them on the street. Jeff and Vic (and Adam and Tom) would make a joke of it; Susie strikes me as the type to start yelling, "Do you know who I am?" (Uh, no - and don't try to claim I bumped into you hard enough that you have amnesia; you don't own the sidewalk).

I would watch Jeff's show. I think he is funny and makes some good stuff. I like Vic too, I think they will give him some kind of show. Don't care for Susie at all- I think she seems a little forced- but she may win it all.

I really haven't enjoyed this season as much as in the past. I was aggravated at the show when the judges jumped on the one girl who kept her composure and didnt cry when Wolfgang "schooled" her, like her getting emotional about it would have appealed to them. But, hello??, they turn around and let the one go who cried and couldnt control her emotions. I saw the commercial for the reunion show, paused it when it shows everyone sitting across from Bobby, and noticed who was sitting in the middle of the final three. Things that make you go hmmm...

But maybe Mary Beth's food would have been better if she actually had a helpful sous chef? As Alton said, you can't do Iron Chef alone, and she basically did.

I have no doubt, however, that Mary Beth will end up with a food/restaurant show. Just not a cooking one.

True. But lately, MB's food wasn't as good as the others. She'd been at the bottom a few times. I like her a lot, and would watch her in a minute, but she doesn't have the cooking chops that the other Final Four do.

Glad you caught that too! Food Network is nothing if not predictable this season. ;)
