We did this n 2004. I've mixed feelings about it though. First we had a great day out, we booked through Keith Prowse. We were collected from our wdw hotel and it was nice and relaxing not having to drive. We spent most of the day on the beach and had lunch at the Hilton on the beach. This was included in the price and was buffet style. The screamer was good and we saw plenty of dolphins. They drive the boat really fast and this encourages the dolphins to swim with the waves and they follow the boat and the waves. After watching a programme on our return to the UK they said this is cruel as it can lead them into dangers i.e. damage from boats and other humans who maybe not so kind to them. I felt a bit bad really but we did have a great day. Hope this helps, Maria

I was really disappointed with the Screamer. I thought it would go much faster than it did and expected it to be a bit more of an exciting ride. To top it off we didn't see any dolphins. They did offer us a free go later in the day to make up for not seeing any dolphins, but unfortunately if we went on it we would not have made it back to our coach in time. :sad2:

I didn't know about it being bad for the dolphins :(

I did this back in 1998 and had a ball with it - I certainly found it to be great fun and fast enough that it gave me a thrill but didn't scare me and we had some dolphins too. It was a good experience.

There is another "Sea Screamer" boat, called the "Sea Thriller" located on St. Petes beach.

We have done the Sea Screamer a couple of times and think it is definitely worth the price. The cruise along the millionaires row of gulf side houses is nice and it's quite good when they open it up too. If you see dolphins, it's a great bonus. Make sure you cover your expensive camera equipment, because that salt water spray will more than likely ruin it.

I wouldnt worry about this being harmful to dolphins, infact quite the opposite. Play is a very important part of a dolphins life and they love riding in the wake or the bow waves of boats. I would be more concerned about the dolphins being kept from their natural environment over at Sea World and DC.

We did this in Oct 04 and had a great time.We drove to Clearwater from Orlando.
We have 2 DD's,both really enjoyed it,it was a great experience.
It took a little while for the Dolphins to play, but when they did we had 2 on each side of the boat jumping around. It was lovely to see them playing in their natural environment instead of behind glass in a tank.
The 2 men that took us out on The Seascreamer were very much poser's,very taned, ultra white teeth, cheesy chat, but they did know what they were talking about. They do know alot about the Dolphins and the environment they live in and the Dolphins safety seemed to be their number one priority.
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

:)

Paul, we haven't done this ourselves but when we stayed in Clearwater a lot of other guests in our hotel did, and were very complimentary about the experience :thumbsup2
