We loved it. As for complaints about the shortness of the ride, people forget that it is a Fantasyland attraction. The ride time is about average for Fantasyland.
We waited in line for 50 minutes on an evening magic hours night as we couldn't get fast passes. It was a total and complete disappointment. It was over before I knew it and I couldn't remember anything about it. Will not bother again.
What is Disney thinking? Really -- that is the central new ride of New Fantasyland?
They do that while Universal opens Gringott's Bank?
Uninformed? Wow that's rude. When did you first ride it? You likely had access to more reviews than people who rode when it was newer.
I think you're implying something negative about the word "uninformed" that wasn't intended. What I meant by uninformed is people who only rely on information straight from Disney, including commercials, and not people who read ride reviews from independent third parties. Based on Disney's information cited earlier in this thread--specifically the commercial and the ride description on Disney's website--I think that people who rely on only those pieces of information will have unrealistic expectations because those two pieces of information are so misleading, and disappointment tends to follow unrealistic expectations more than someone with realistic expectations.
7DMT opened in May 2014 and according to my Past Items in MDE, I first rode it on August 30, 2014. So it was still pretty new but with a few months of discussion on here about it, I was well aware of what to expect from it. The first time I rode I knew what to expect thanks to reviews here, so I wasn't disappointed in the ride experience itself (it matched my expectations of the ride) but I was disappointed that this is what Disney made that particular ride into.

In the summer, we were unable to get a FP+ 60 days out, even though we were in MK for 4 days during our weeklong trip.Just wondering if you don't have a FP what's the average SB wait time for this ride?
No kidding right??! Practically every ride motion simulator/3D. Those types of rides make me nauseous so I cant really enjoy Universal. We actually preferred 7DMT to Gringotts. That's because Mine Train shows you something real, not just screens and 3D. I'm not bashing 3D/screen based rides, but Universal has been relying way too much on that tech for the past several years.
I loved it! I never have high expectations except that any ride will be fun. It was fun! With so many people disliking it, maybe the lines will shorten sometime soon.
Gee whiz.....I hope the line gets shorter with all this negative talk LOL! We're heading down next month and weren't able to snag Fastpasses at 60 days out! We enjoy the ride, but don't want to wait an hour to ride it.![]()
Everyone comments on the seat size. How small are they? My family will be trying this ride for the first time in December. My mom is around 175 lbs and 5'3". Will she have issues fitting in? I'd hate for her to be embarrassed and we will just skip it if we have to. Thanks.
Fair enough!! I did read a lot on here but I still came out underwhelmed. At the time, there was still A LOT of hype. I just don't get it.

Overall, I really, really enjoy the ride but it's not something I would ever wait more than 20 minutes for. We always get lucky & snag FPs for it but once jumped in the standby line when it said 20 minutes, but we waited over 60. I know that definitely happens, but that just solidified we would never wait that long for it via standby.
I think she will be fine! I agree with jtowntoflorida - I think the seat issue is more to do with longer legs than anything else. My boyfriend and I are both 5'9 and our knees barely miss skimming the front of the car, but when we start going we definitely knock them against everything. That's where the uncomfortable issue comes in for us. If you have anything you need to put in with you like a purse, I agree to do so first because once you get in there is very little leg room to maneuver around, but at 5'3 that may afford more room than at 5'9 for me.
